If I could leave 0 stars I would. Phlebotomist walked out, and left the tourniquet on my 8 year old. Treated my child who is both autistic and epileptic like an animal. While other parts of northwestern are great, this lab in grayslake is horrible. Trauma informed healthcare is not implemented and they engage in medical neglect. What’s worse is the office manager I spoke with the following day made excuses for the phlebotomist. It does not matter which site you normally work at, when I visit a multi site health system I should get the same level of competence and care at all locations… that’s a systemic issue with your training, supervision and quality assurance. If he didn’t know how to handle my child’s need he should’ve at minimum known how to get the support or who to call, not engage in medical neglect. Anthony M should be fired, some of this is training and some is common sense!

I went to the facility to get labs for the first time right when it is opened in the morning. The facility itself is beautiful and very welcoming. I went to the welcome desk as I had no idea where to go or what to do. The woman behind the desk was so kind. She checked me in immediately. Another really nice woman registered me and got me in immediately at the lab. While the techs in the lab werent SUPER friendly, they were efficient and professional. I would absolutely recommend this location for services. I would try to go early as it got very busy even just 30 minutes after I got there.

[I never leave reviews for medical facilities or write reviews this long. But, I felt inclined to share an accurate, recent review because the existing reviews almost stopped me from going here]~I was tired of driving 40 min for my labs every 6 weeks so I did a google search to see if there’s a closer location.A- I don’t know why I didn’t sooner.B- These reviews are not my experience at all.-When I make my appointments, staff is always super professional, friendly & get me in right away. Most recently, it slipped my mind & to avoid a medication disruption I needed to get my bloodwork done quickly. I called & told the woman that “I’m not sure how much time in advance they need” & her response was “it’s what works best for you”. She scheduled me for the following morning.-It’s always “in & out”. It literally takes more time to park & go upstairs to the office than actually being in the office.I do like the convenience of not needing an appointment at other locations. However, the time spent waiting isn’t worth it. I’ve never spent longer than 2 min in this waiting room.-The physical lab work is also quick & in my opinion painless (& I’m always dehydrated)*I’ve noticed that I get my results much quicker as well. It could be a coincidence?+I have to say, the registration process downstairs is long & unnecessary. Check in at the window, sit for a second in the waiting area, then called to an office is just too much. While the lady in the office is so sweet..It would be a lot for the elderly or someone with an injury. But that’s something the facility needs to fix.

I've never had a poor experience with this lab. Everyone has always been friendly and I've never needed to wait more than a couple of minutes to be seen. Results have always come through within a day for standard panels and the allotted time for more complex things. Far easier than a place like Quest.

I was greeted by a rude nurse (who wasn’t at her post mind you) for “walking around”. Before my chemo I have to get labs. I went to the lab and waited an awkward 3-4 mins hearing voices from the back never being greeted. Upon walking to the back I see a nurse (student) who puts down her phone greets me and ushers me to the front. Denise W (the nurse in question) with no apology decided to reprimand me in both harsh tone and delivery. She informs me there are only two of them today and in the future “just sit down and wait”. I don’t care if your stressed ma’am I’m stressed too. Don’t raise your voice when I try to explain that I heard voices after sitting ignored. We are all going thru it if your understaffing makes you upset don’t take it on the guy there for his chemo! I really expected more!

Called the number instructed per the NW Medicine portal to try to schedule a procedure at the Grayslake facility. I was told someone would call me back within 5 business days! Wow, that's impressive response and customer service! I guess the professionalism of Northwestern downtown hasn't quite reached the suburbs yet. Disappointing that in 2021 it takes a prestigious medical organization 5 days to call back simply to schedule an appointment.

I’ve had a terrible experience with this lab. Just a heads up if your insurance makes you cover deductible for lab orders, this outpatient lab charges $362 for a basic electrolyte pallet that you can have done for $20 anywhere else.Going here has been a nightmare. They refuse to negotiate the bill, nor do they disclose ahead of time that they charge so much for a simple lab order. I just came here out of convenience of it being close to where I recently moved for my regular 1 year lab orders my doctor requests. I have never had this happen to me before a $362 bill. They lost the lab order my doctor placed when I came in for my appointment the day of. I had to sit there while I waited for him to call me back and call it in. Doctors are busy so obviously it wasn’t his fault I had to wait! When I scheduled my appointment they had confirmed that they received his fax order. When I came in a few days later, they had no idea what I was talking about and said they didn’t have it. HIPPA violation for losing patient information? To add to it, my doctor did not receive the faxed lab information for weeks after. My appointment was on 11/12 and it’s now December. I had to call them and ask them to mail me the results so I can give them to him myself since they’ve failed several times contacting them. I got a second bill in the mail for $29 with the lab results for having one of THEIR doctors look at my results. When I specifically wanted only MY doctor to read the results. On top of a $362 bill for my lab, they want $29 for a doctor I’ve never seen or met to look at my results without authorization. Nor did he call me or consult me about my results. I just have a piece of paper that I handed to my own doctor inconveniently since they couldn’t get it to him properly and timely. I had a complete run around twice now with this hospital and now have a nice bill to pay right before the holidays. My insurance sugguested that I ask the hospital recode my lab order to “preventative care” and that they would cover it in full for preventative care, but not as the way it was coded in the hospital system. I called the hospital begging their billing department to change the code of my lab order and even had my doctor call wanting to record the order to preventative care. They refused even though their bill would be paid either way. My insurance provider was trying to be helpful since I pay for insurance to cover these things. The billing department wouldn’t cooperate at this hospital. Talk about holiday spirit!None the less I will he reporting the fact that they shared my confidential information with an unauthorized personnel and then BILLED me as well as lost my medical records that were proven to be faxed to them prior to my appointment. I work In health care and that’s a direct HIPPA violation.

Nothing Changed; from the review and response of Patti D from 8 months ago. I called the central scheduling and they gave me the exact same run around, I asked them to provide the Grayslake lab direct number and they said, "there is no direct number, you have to talk to Central". I called the number in the above post and it went directly to Grayslake lab, of course no one answered and asked to leave a message.
