Banker issued a "Now Card" to me stating it was a debit card. A "Now card" is a pay as you go card for regions customers in lieu of a checking account. I made a large deposit when opening my account and immediately i started recieving notifications of these, "EB to Now" charges. I never transferred any funds or load it the Now card. I used the card like it was a debit card, this is what the teller who opened my account stated I had received. There were thousands of dollars and roll over charges and fees they had ate up a great deal of money and just a few days. The teller that was supposedly assisting me had no absolutely no idea what was happening he would promise things and then forget it or he would say illogical answers he never followed through even reported something that had never happened instead of what was actually happening. The Now cards outline states that you'll never have any overdraft fees and never will charges be paid for by money out of your checking and savings, the absolute complete opposite of what happened to me. Non-Stop charges and fees and just a matter of a very short time my account was in a negative there was over $20,000 deposit. I repeatedly sent letters went into the bank called to no avail nobody would tell me what's going on or how to stop it or assistant in any way whatsoever. I endured a great deal of theft my social security number was being displayed as a reference number on all my statements, my home was robbed by someone who had sought me out online from the identity theft and Remy blind the bank refused to close the card even though a thief had the numbers they were absolutely no help and hard closed my account after I endured $9,000 + of Amazon charges. Charges that had occurred approximately every 15 minutes for almost a 30-day period. Amazon verified that I was a victim of theft and that there were thieves attached to my account who had all my information to tell her I was working with wouldn't even take the paper or return their call that stated what was happening, he just would look at me with a Blank Stare promisings and never do anything the teller even make jokes Telling Me Maybe ghosts did it? Amazon approved refunds of these fraudulent charges but the bank hard closed my account, without giving me any kind of statements or any assistance... my money's just gone.. I can't even receive the refunds because the bank wouldn't take that time to respond to the agents who had investigated the theft. I know that a great deal of money was reversed recently yet the bank's telling me it's a zero balance they gave me a very small amount unwarranted by check that I had to wait for which caused me to be late something I had never done on my bills. My credit is destroyed my financial relationships have been altered I owned several businesses that were all very successful and every time I have has been depleted because of this identity theft. I've received notices that my house deed has been attempted to be transferred out of my name as well as my vehicles and they only comment I get from regions... is "well you say all this is going on why don't you go make a police report" at the time that you think that they would be helpful they're snotty and treating me like I'm dirt they treated me like a queen the day I was making a deposit funny how things change, by the way they're fully aware that I had made a police report. Another thing that I had happened is several transactions have been reverted they no longer exist. I have several payments that I have receipts for and that the companies I pay monthly had as paid but they're nowhere to be found on my statements.. there is a great deal of discrepancies on a lot of statements and they're doing absolutely nothing about it. I was unaware that they had taking advantage of several people prior to me opening an account there or I would have never opened one. I've lost approximately $40,000 and counting in the three months I was

I am a 12 yr. customer and have had to file about 4-5 complaints against the MARYVILLE/PONTOON RD, Granite City location each year! I made a deposit today with thousands of $$'s and gave them 2 separate account slips, putting some of them money in a second account! The girl, Nicole Malherek, refused to do it. So, I dove home and called the 800# and spoke to a supervisor and demanded they do the transfer . . . since Nicole Malherek wasn't about to do her job! This location is the WORST! A new Manager called me about a month ago asking what she could do to make the Bank a better place. Well, since I told her the TRUTH of all they things they have done . . . SHE DOESN'T LIKE ME NOW AND WANTS TO PUNISH ME!

They are horribly slow and understaffed no matter if you go inside or through the drive. If there was another location in town I'd go there

Regions does not honor or support Military and their family. Will not accept overseas orders to help a mother take care of her young son's account to insure he has access to his funds while serving our country overseas. Military deployment is hard on families and regions has caused hardship to this family and the young servicemen, who selflessly is serving our country. Shame on them. If you support our Veterans, please let regions know how wrong they are and find a smaller bank or credit union that caters to families and military.

This review is in regards to Regions in general, not the specific Granite City location. I believe most of the things we do not care for stem from Regions corporate, not the local bank. However, since their merger with another large bank in mid-2007, Regions has gone steadily downhill in terms of service and how they handle the customer accounts. Basic items like an address change turns into a large task here, taking months (yes months) to get completed. When we complained that we were not receiving our statements any more, the phone rep claimed that we had chosen online-only statements (which we had not). As it turned out, despite a total of three address change requests for my sons acct, they still had an old address from 2006 on his acct. Amazing. We are now dealing with yet another problem with my sons acct on the processing of charges vs deposits, and Regions conveniently delayed processing times. It resulted in a huge mess that (shocker alert) created large bank charges for Regions in fees. Again, this was not the local bank processing issue, but the online banking processing, whereever they have that outsourced to. It is unreal, and my son will not be continuing to do business with that bank - he has had nothing but troubles of one kind or another since opening the acct over 2 yrs ago. Hopefully we can get the latest problem straightened out, but if Regions will not correct the problem, we will have to file a formal complaint. Even fuzzy logic does not describe their handling this week! I just can no longer recommend them, but note that is due to the national bank process, not the local people. They do not set the policies. But the ship can only go where the captain steers it, and Regions is currently being driven by the captain of the Titanic.
