Whoever wrote the last post is one of the owners.. They have not a room that handicapped accessible and all they did put a wood slant in front. So if this a fire I would have to just crawl out. Plus why is their garage right behind where I stay and a window. Do not recommend them at all. They tried to get in!!!

Great place for anyone who is low on income at the time or just really wants tp budget their funds.It's definitely not 4 or 5 star quality. But, there are pros and cons to this motel. Here they are;PROS:•LOCATION•NON EXPENSIVE $$ •DECENTLY CLEAN AND WELL KEPT•FREE WIFI•AVAILABILTY•FREE DIRECTV OR CHARTER (can't remember)•CONVENIENT PARKINGCONS:•THE STAFF•THE RANDOM CHANGE IN KEY DEPOSIT AMT•TOWELS ARE NOT BRAND NEW & (believe me u can tell!)•NO COMPLEMENTARY SHAMPOO, BODY WASH, LOTION, ETC. all you get is one little wrapped up piece of hand soap.•PRIVACY (paper thin walls)ALL IN ALL, We need remember that this is a MOTEL for a reason. It's not a 5 star Hotel with chocolate on your pillow and room service.But if u need somewhere to go for a cheap place to stay that bug-free, clean, and in a decent location, my #1 pick in this area is Midwest Motel!Nearby activities: Within driving distance you have highway 270 which leads you 5 mins one way into Missouri and 5 mins the other way into Mitchell, and Pontoon Beach, Illinois. Mitchell has the bars known for either fav slots, bar food, good company, or all 3. Paddy McDs! Then next door we have Shotzys. Curlys Convenient Store is just across the street. Historic Route 66 Flea Market and Teris Dinner, known widely for the BEST HOMEMADE TACOS YOULL EVER HAVE IN UR LIFE!, and attached is Kickstand Bar & Grill.Safety: I stayed here literally last night. When I got in, our smoke detector was making a loud screeching noise at us like the battery might have been dying so my friend at the time decided to stand on a chair and check and see if that was the problem well when he pulled the smoke detector down we noticed it didn't even have a battery in it to begin with. Very very bad strike against the motel for this!

A very good place to stay. Safe environment and friendly people. We stayed in room 01. The people at the desk are very nice and helpful and your not that far from Walmart. Thank you for having great people with a friendly service..

I have stayed at this motel on and off for years. I've never had an issue with the management. I've been in room one for some time now. It helps if people want to leave uncomplimentary comments that they include the proper room number.

The manager was having a affair with my best friends old man and smiling in my friends face the whole time like nothing was going on. Even would sit and have conversations with my friend than 14 mins later be bedded up with him.

The proprietors of this sleazy establishment are overly involved in their tenants affairs, for no reason that I've observed! I almost didn't receive my 20$ deposit the very next day upon checkout, because they were unaware they only had one face towel in the room! They gave me my deposit, but were still under the impression I took their face towel! Anyway, the rates are great! The rooms are decent, as far as cleanliness! The owners are over paranoid about something, I don't know what! They just need to relax!

Owner is very disagreeable and refuses ALL guests (even extended stay customers ) to have visitors or even allows a ride to go inside for more than 5 minutes. Completely redicilous expectations and the Lady manager never smiles or tries to act civil, her husband is friendly and happy when she's not overlooking his every move.Although the pricing is most affordable if you can gat along with the desk clerk.

It was absolutely horrible,. My car got broke into them,. He wouldn't give me my key deposit because his towels were brown. People just come and go all hours of the night. The worst. $80.00 waste,. Save yourself some time and money and go elsewhere.

I've been here for 6 months because of the seclusion and quietness. I work hard driving big rigs so I need the peace. The owners are good people. They have to deal with a lot of deadbeats. It is a little pricey though. After the completion of my home I'll be moving. I will miss the place. Having a car is best here. Everything is right off of I-270. I haven't had any vermin or roaches or none of that stuff. I hope that the house that I move into will be in a good quiet area similar to this place.

The owners are pretty nosey. I asked them for toilet paper, new sheets and towels and they acted like they didn't want to do it. They kept saying that they would do it themselves later but I didn't want to be bothered later I was trying to sleep. They also tried to screw me out of $10 saying that I didn't pay the deposit for the room key which I did otherwise how did I have it to begin with. For the price they are charging I shouldn't have to deal with them not giving me the sheets and comforter to do myself. I have also seen a few bugs/roaches in the room. Also the t.v. has a really annoying feature were a lady talks and tells you the volume when your changing it, turning it off, and mute that I couldn't figure out how to disable. Now the upside to all these negatives is they do have a refrigerator, it's secluded but still close enough to something's if you got a vehicle but not ideal if your on foot due to the fact that there isn't much lighting around the area.
