I went to Mariano's to look for a retirement gift for my coworker around 9:00pm and was in the flower department looking to have someone blow up a balloon for me and Dawn popped out of nowhere and was the most sweetest woman that I have ever encountered with. She didn't even work in that specific department and still found a way to help me out and mind you she's new to Mariano's as well! She helped me pick out some flowers as well and walked me over to the register to check out. Thank you so much Dawn for making my last minute shopping a blast!!

Elston Avenue is terrible. This Waukegan Avenue location is just as bad. We don't need Mariano's anymore. Kroger has ruined all our Chicago area Mariano's.

The pharmacist is extremely helpful, always figures out the least expensive way to pay for all of my medications, be it insurance, GoodRX, or SimpleCare! We have most of our medications filled there now. Highly recommended!!!

my daughter took with with her do do my shopping. I do not shop at Mariano's and will not in the future. Two bags of Donkey chips were very stale. Croissants were hard. All of this is going in the garbage. I thought it was a high quality store. I was wrong. not sure how they can charge high prices for low quality. Jewel delivers better quality at better prices.

Compared to in the past, this place has gone downhill in quality, freshness, and variety. Customer service is a mess, employees seem short-staffed and overworked.The uniqueness of them grilling your meat has been their strength, but corporate is all about greed and can't afford to even operate the grills anymore.Even another location I sometimes go to have inconsistent grill hours and aren't even motivated. Real butchers don't even exist. Kroger should be ashamed of themselves.

I like the fact that the coffee at Matiano's is a lot cheaper than going to Starbucks and has good seating area with vegetation. The lady making my coffee wasnt as nice though but she really nice to the white lady customer after me

If you want fresh fish GO ELSEWHERE. Bought salmon Thursday went to cook it Friday it was SPOILED. Stunk so bad I almost threw up. NEVER AGAIN! I Feel All their quality has tanked since Kroger bought them.

Called ahead of time to ask if Monday special was still going on. Was told yes. Ordered later and charged full price. Supposedly the manager when asked why no special they said "because it's Halloween". Talk about Trick or Treat. Family got tricked out of dinner. Too many better places in area anyway. Forever pass.

Marianos is my go to place for fresh food. Staff and cashiers are friendly and helpful. The bar is now open, Starbucks (lovely and bright) in the store looks like it's opening soon. I really like their food/soup/salad bar. After purchasing your hot food, you can sit and eat at in-store seating. Food tastes great! Some Mariano's locations have live music, which is a treat. I have yet to attend a Mariano's in store event, and look forward to experiencing an event soon.

I visit a few Mariano's around my house & its sad how empty the shelves are & the employees they do have are running around working as hard as they possibly can & especially the Management Team in the Stores that are sweating evertime i see them & working so hard ! Kroger sure knows how to take advantage of all their Salary & Hourly employees. This is how short staffed the stores are & due to Kroger Corporate Office not wanting to give the resources to the stores to operate a successful business. This is starting to remind me of Dominick's all over again & with these store conditions it will end up just like Dominick's did ! Kroger is Very Very good at making there GREAT MANAGER wanting to leave their company ! Good luck to all of you Mariano Employees ! Love you all but there needs to be change in upper management just like the White House right now !

I have always lived Mariano's! The stores in Chicago were always fresh and abundant with goodies. I had started using Instacart exclusively over the pandemic so I had not been in a store in 3-4 years. Today I went in Glenview. Half the lights were dark. I couldn't see prices, it was that dim. I went to get some goodies at the olive bar. The girl working there was just leaning on the counter. I asked where everything was, as it was empty. She said everything is broken and she had no idea when it would be fixed. She pointed me to some pre-packed olives etc. The small containers are expensive, over $6 each for a tiny container. And expired! I saw other expired fresh foods too. I truly went to get some already-made things so I didn't have to prepare anything. But suddenly everything I grabbed to buy was expired. I left with nothing. I'm sad this store has gone down hill. I will not be back.
