My daughter recently put in her two weeks notice with this company. She has worked there for three years. In three years, she has only called off one day with the exception of confirmed Covid illness. She is a shift lead who performs more as an assistant manager. She is being paid the same as a new hire shift lead with no knowledge of this store so for principle reasons, she felt it was time to part ways. My issue comes from how confrontational a higher district type manager got with her in regards to her leaving. In his attempt to see if she would stay, he was very condescending in his manner which was also laced with egotism and disdain. She was factual and frank and stood her ground and he was not receptive at all. He had to be taken outside by other higher management after he said he wanted her fired and that he didn’t like her. I could not have been more proud of her for standing up for what is right even when faced with a bully type narcissist who was not getting his way. We have tolerated the inconsistent and biased pay issues for the last year and a half but it is time to part ways. There are some good people working for this location but I imagine there will be more attrition due to less than sound management practices. While her departing interaction with this weak in substance human with poor managerial skills did not benefit her, we can only hope it will benefit her coworkers and new employees to come.

i work at marcos currently and i dont get paid what im supposed to. i work super hard and train a lot of new people there even though im not a shift lead. ive been working there for approximately 7 months now and i JUST got my first raise last month from $7.25 to $8.25. my manager said id be getting paid $9 an hour after i completed my online training which i did but he hasnt completed his tasks of looking over it and confirming so i never got that. none of pur shift leads work at all and everyone stands in the back eating pizzas they didnt pay for and the manager stays clocked in over night even if hes not there. its all just really bogus in my opinion. we tried contacting spmeone higher up from my boss but she never returned the call or met up like she said she would. everything said here isnt even the worst thing thats happened in the store i work at.

you do not get paid for hours actually worked after you quit. you get a w2 for your tips you earned but not your hourly wages,

Loved working at Marcos, despised dealing with anyone from corporate. Mr. Hoogland's son came to "inspect" our store and pulled some green peppers from the trash and demanded they be washed and put back in production. Threw them away the moment he left.Absolutely shameful.

This companies website stated it’s all about the people. I’ve come to understand it’s not true. Recently we rented some movies and we were a day late returning them. We understood the consequences of this that there would be a late fee. We had two movies we did not get to watch so we returned the other two and asked to resent the two we did not watch. Do the manager was happy to ring us up for a little over $20.00 I was a little taken back by the price and asked her for the receipt so we could brake it down. And what I found was frustrating the charged late fees on the movies I returned but actually charged me twice on the movies I asked to re rent it was $6.00 I was being screwed out of that if I would have not re rented it would have been cheaper to pay the late fee. The manager refused to refund the double charge and the district managers voicemail is full and can not receive any more messages. I’m sure because of things like this.

After being a customer for several years one employee at the Dayton Ohio location is very very rude. They tell your coupons are used when you haven’t used them. They say oh well, amd look at you as if you are stupid. REDBOX IT IS!!!!
