I called customer service to ask about a check I received in my late mother-in law's estate (I am the executor of the will) and how to deposit it, etc. A week later my wife and I received a candle in the mail along with a note saying how sorry they (Busey) were to hear about her passing. I don't have millions at Busey and I'm probably one of their smaller clients which makes this review so genuine. We were really touched by this - talk about great customer service!! I probably call customer service 1-2 times a year to help me with online banking and they are always nice and super-helpful. Can't say enough about them!

Worst service ever. They have destroyed what was Glenview State Bank. I don't know why they bought it.

Absolutely the worst customer service ever! They took over Glenview State Bank which was a well oiled machine and ran so smoothly with REAL people answering each phone call immediately and helping. Since Busey took over nobody answers the phone and it takes forever to get a call back! They are trying to run this bank remotely from Champaign,IL and it isn't working. Even when you go inside it is a ghost town and nobody is there to help. Very sad as GSB was such a stellar bank in the community. After 50 years of banking there I'm leaving!

Terrible. Went to change coins into paper bills, found out there was a 10% of the amount changed fee. Talk about usury! Then they said if you open an account they will waive the fee, this however wasn't true, then it was open a business account and we will waive the fee. All the while they are holding our hundreds of dollars of coins hostage and refuse to return them to us when we refused to pay the fee. After then being told that they would need our business paperwork to open the business account, we balked as in who carries their articles of incorporation, operating agreement, IRS EIN number letter, etc. with them to change some coins at the bank? The manager, I'm sure knew this and then when we protested in a polite but firm manner, they said I was getting abusive...all of this after they had just tried to abuse my wife who had gone in to do the transaction and whom they strung along and took advantage of her english as a second language immigrant lack of sophistication. All of this nonsense coming from a bank that purports to be from a university town, Champaign, Illinois. What a shame! Awful and shameful service! No excuse!

I have car loan and registered my account online.Affter some account isues their V.P. responded to my first (low review) and I got solved problem and I'm glad you care what customer says. Now I change my review to 5 stars.Thank you David!

I'm not sure which branch I was speaking to, but the customer service I received from Glenview State Bank this week was beyond my expectations. They really did a lot of research on some historical transactions for me, followed up quickly and made sure I understood the situation. In fact I have received great service from them every time I've gone to the Northbrook branch or phoned in to customer service. Great job!
