Simply no words for how great this place is! Personally, there is no choice more important than the place/people I choose to help care for my animals. The team at Glenview AH is warm, understanding and welcoming. It just makes all the difference! Dr. Mateles, Lauren (Tech), Chris and everyone else we met during our visit were so kind. Equally important to a vet being knowledgeable is their compassion, and the way that Dr. Mateles and the veterinary support staff interacted with my pup, Homie, put me at ease beyond words!!! They genuinely care and they genuinely love your animals.
We will be clients for life as long as this incredible staff is here. Thanks for all you do

Our beloved Molly had recently passed away at 15 years old. The staff had Glenview could not have been more compassionate and helpful. They walked us through the entire cremation process. In particular Chris was so wonderful. Dr. Kanter early on gave excellent care. You are all such wonderful and caring professionals. God bless all of you. Mike and Lisa Scahill. (Also Corky- Molly’s “little brother.”)

After 5 great years of using Glenview Animal Hospital, we moved too far away to continue coming. However, we have had nothing but wonderful experiences here! Dr. Kanter is absolutely wonderful, as is everyone else on their staff. We cannot recommend them enough!

We almost considered euthanizing our beloved dog because of the speculative diagnosis they gave - saying she likely had a brain tumor. Although they also suggested a CT scan, they should realize that pet owners rely on them for accurate guidance. Knowing the prognosis for survival of brain tumors, making comments of such potential consequence is irresponsible, not to mention heartbreaking. They should have simply said, "we can't be sure - we recommend a CT scan." PERIOD Update - She ended up having a fungal infection of the nasal cavity - very successfully treated.

Schoen is a quirky woman whose judgment is suspect because she talks (and talks and talks) but does not listen. This leads to incomplete and ineffective treatment. She has no people skills.

When I moved to Glenview in 1991 I wanted a local veterinarian for the coolest cat ever!! I found that vet in David Cohen. 2:3 years later, 3 Leonbergers ,and all the care and techniques I would never go to anyone else. Glenview Animal Hospital is the best!! Everyone cares and takes good care of your pet. Jane Braun

Quirky, unprofessional staff members make bad decisions and are covered for by other staff. Something’s wrong here.

Recently had a god awful experience at Glenview Animal Hospital which put my dog through so much unnecessary pain. I brought my dog in for a tumor removal in which he was horribly stitched up. A few days later, the stitches began to dehisce (split apart). We immediately brought him in so the doc could take a look at it. Aside from the staff lacking any sort of compassion or warmth towards my baby who was in pain from his stitches literally ripping apart, we were sent home and told that he will be fine and that the wound would heal on its own. Days later, every single stitch popped open and the wound completely tore apart. I rushed him back to Glenview Animal Hospital because his MUSCLE was now protruding through skin and his blood was getting everywhere. When we got there, the doc took a look at it and once again said that there was nothing they can do. Crazy right? These people refused to stitch up my dog because quote "the same thing could happen again". Instead, their idea was putting a mesh sling on him to cover up the wound so that blood wouldn't get everywhere. However, once we got home and took off the sling, the friction from the harsh material rubbing against the open wound caused it to open up even more, worsening the already large open wound. My poor dog. We ended up taking him to another hospital in the area which probably saved his life. They immediately took him in, stitched him up, and now, weeks later, his wound is healed with no complications. It was heartbreaking seeing my dog in such agonizing pain, knowing that his doctor, whom we trusted, couldn't care less to help him and only made the pain worse.

My fur baby is very people and dog reactive so it’s always pretty stressful for both of us when it’s time for a vet visit. My pup is definitely a handful but the vet and the technicians are so incredibly kind, patient and understanding with our needs.I can’t express my gratitude and appreciation for this vet clinic enough. I wish I could offer more than 5 stars. Great services, fair prices, incredibly kind staff! Thank you for all that you do, you are so appreciated!

We cannot say enough good things about Glenview Animal Hospital. We began care with them during an especially critical time in our beloved pup's life and are beyond impressed with the extremely high level of efficient and compassionate care we've experienced with every single person we've come into contact with. Special shoutouts to Dr. Schoen and Dr. Kanter. Bruce loves and appreciates you all, and we do, too!
