“Smash Toys is everything I wanted as a kid, and appreciated even more as an adult. I've never felt welcomed in comic book stores, toy stores, or video game stores like I do at Smash Toys. As soon as my wife and I walked in, we were greeted with what felt like a sincere welcome. I can't tell you how rare that is nowadays, so I knew we were in for a treat. The store is small, BUT there is a lot to explore. Every visit we each buy something for ourselves or a gift for someone. We usually do a few passes when we visit, which is actually fun because we spot new things with every pass, and it doesn't feel like anyone is breathing down our necks. Not feeling rushed means that we can actually buy things, but it also allows my wife and I to reminisce and share stories about our childhoods. The last thing I'll say is that the owner, Jon (sp?), is passionate and it shows. There's nothing worse than a snob in a comic/game shop, so I was really excited when I first asked a question and it was answered enthusiastically instead of trying to embarrass me. I don't think my experience is unique because I've seen Jon interact with other customers, even during trades, with the same great customer service. Already planning our next visit!”
“I walked in and said I need a stuffed monkey and a great gift for a 10 year old girl- The sales lady had the most perfect softest chimpanzee, and knew exactly what every 10 year old girl wants, I was all wrapped up and out in less than 10 minutes! This is my new go to for every birthday party!”

“Creator Art Baltazar's personally owned comics shop. He isn't often in, but he does have events where he is present, and he invites other creators for events as well.They have $1 bargain back issue boxes by the front door and several shelves of $5 reduced price trades.”
“My nephew Enzo is visiting from California to spend his 14th Birthday in Chicago. We attended the Lego Convention then we went to Woodfield to search for a specific set but couldn’t find it there. The wonderful Manager at Woodfield called the Northbrook location and we were able to order the set my Nephew Enzo was looking for. We arrived at the Lego Store in Northbrook and felt very Welcomed by the staff:Mery, Elizabeth and Cameron made my nephew’s day. “I was a kid in a toy store. There's a little bit of everything in here, I could spend hours exploring it all. Some prices are great, some prices are so so, but none of the prices are terrible. Some staff is friendly and outgoing, some staff a bit more taciturn.”
“This is the second time I’ve ordered from this store & both experiences exceeded expectations! The first time, I was looking for a specific product. It was shown on their website, but currently out of stock (in the middle of the supply chain issues). I called to check when/if it would be back in stock and their communication was stellar! They let me know that it had been ordered and kept me apprised of subsequent delays.The second time I ordered (today), I was given the option of free local delivery as one of the shipping methods. “We were a few minutes late for our appointment since we aren’t from the area and I wasn’t aware of the parking situation. I was willing to wait for the next opening but thankfully Stacy offered to cut my 3 year old’s hair. She took her time and gave me so many helpful tips on how to maintain my daughter’s very curly hair. I already see a massive difference in her hair from following her advice, my daughters hair is so much healthier and easier to style. We will definitely be coming back here, thank you Stacy!”

“Love the premise. In practice, not as effective as I would like.Mighty Nest purports to send you one item a month to help you change over to something more environmentally conscious. Unfortunately, in reality, the items they have are mostly junk that clutters your counters, cabinets, drawers, or what have you. Anything more useful ends up not available for your "surprise" item. You can choose the item you can receive, but those choices are vary limited, repetitive, and anything good ends up with an added premium price, usually exorbitant.What makes it worth 4 stars is the added available items that you can shop for. For example, I can get Mrs. Murphy's products that are hard to get and more expensive elsewhere, like limited, seasonal scents in bar soaps and dishwashing liquids, at good prices for far longer that at other sites. Might Nest does offer a few products I haven't seen elsewhere. they also allow you to add your preferred products as a subscription at no additional postage to your monthly package.One more benefit: you can change your shipping date at any time. Just remember to do this if you need to or if you don't care for the items on your list of choices.So, if you choose to sign up, just be aware of the caveats and check in regularly.”
