Unique jewelry and other pieces in store. Really enjoy stopping here when going through downtown Glen Ellyn. This shop feels like a gem you unearth while on vacation.

I'm really surprised that Bench492 doesn't have any reviews! I don't get to Glen Ellyn often, but this shop is a fun independent store in the middle of its downtown and worth a visit as the seasons change! I happened upon Bench492 when on an errand to the cheese shop next door. But this was in November 2021, and they had just recently made their window display very much in the spirit of the holidays, and who can resist gold sparkly lights and goodies? Me, anyway; it caught my attention and drew me in. The store markets itself as a "made and found" store. They have jewelry from independent artists, candles made locally for their store, and other items similar to what you'd find in lots of lovely little shops. But they also have "found" items, like antique desks, or sideboards, or the like. They have really lovely candles; in fact, when I went to in there was an intoxicating scent of a candle they were burning--I wasn't the only one who thought so, because it was sold out. The shopkeepers were welcoming and friendly, but did not hang over me or disturb me while I was wandering the store. When I was looking at something one of them might point out something else that might be of interest, but I didn't feel like I was being overly sold to nor did I feel I was being ignored. They were also very careful to wrap and bag my items well so that there were no accidents. I certainly didn't intend to buy as much as I did when I went in, but I have no regrets--and I have an adorable advent calendar that I can't wait to use this year! Definitely a stop you should make when you're strolling downtown Glen Ellyn, even to simply take note of what kind of things they have for the next time you need a gift. Loved all the old furniture and decor. Great selection of high-quality, pretty jewelry at decent prices. I can't go without purchasing one of their necklaces! Adorable little shop!

Great store, with many unique gift items. Kathryn and her staff are wonderful and the customer service is excellent! I placed an order yesterday morning and had my items delivered by the afternoon free of charge.
