This location makes their own rules as they go.
I am a nationwide member and at any other YMCA I can bring my daughter and guest without any issues. This location makes you pay for guest while others do not. This location makes you complete an entire online application for child care daily. The location is nice but I wouldn’t recommend this location, the staff isn’t friendly and some can be rude.

It's been a great swim team for my child. She feels like she part of a family and had been improving in her swim times too!

Recently got a membership there to also benefit from the after school program for my children. I waited 3 weeks on a follow up from Shannon and she didn't care to follow up promptly, despite me even going in person. I left several voicemails and emails. The weekend hours are short. You're not allowed to work out in certain exercise rooms unless there are classes there. Overall, not a great value or customer service from the After-School program team.

Thom and I recently joined. It's great! The machines are all new, the work out area is pristine. It's never crowded. I'm working with a personal trainer Jessica Rangel who is kicking my a$$. There's a great Yoga flow class and a 30 minute ab class that made me want to lay down and cry at the end. If you are like me and haven't been there since your kids took swim lessons 30+ years ago, come check it out. Ps: they are also doing some wonderful things for a lot of people with challenging circumstances. Good job Y!

Huge fan of the YMCA basketball program! The program is all about fun, community, good sportsmanship and skill development. We loved Saturday morning game days. The program is well run, organized and a great opportunity to learn the sport.

Unlike many, if not most, YMCA facilities, Ryall does not participate in the Silver Sneakers program for seniors. Very disappointed in this place, to which I paid membership fees for years before turning 65. If you are a senior like me, I recommend the Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center in Glen Ellyn, which has far better facilities and is free to seniors.

As somebody who has been a member if this Y for almost 2 decades, it pains me to say that this place has really gone down hill. The new management only cares about one thing- money. They closed the YMCA on weekends, for the explicit purpose of saving money. They now keep it open until 3:00 pm on weekends because the members complained enough about it. For as much as this place costs, and the quality of the equipment, it should be open until at least 8:00 pm.Covid has rapidly accelerated the decline. Speaking of just the men’s locker room, they removed the couches, started using half of it for equipment storage & removed the toiletries. That is symbolic of what has happened to the rest of the building. The quality of staff has also gone significantly down hill. The once friendly and smiling front desk attendants have been replaced with bristly frumps who don’t say hi and will only ever growl at you about mask wearing. Finally, they are extremely myopic about Covid. They are one of the only gyms in the area to require you to workout with a mask, but don’t care at all about vaccination status. Working out in a mask is terrible, and not an effective way to reduce transmission. Checking for vaccination status is easy, and an extremely effective way to curb transmission. But they will never do that, because it would impact their bottom line. This place is just very behind the curve with everything, including Covid restrictions. There are simply too many cheaper, better options. The fact that the CEO works out at a different gym should tell you all you need to know about the gym experience. I will leave it at that, because this post has already gotten very long. It is very sad to see, and I truly do hope they turn it around because this place used to be special.

This YMCA is where I many years back learned how to swim. The facility is nice and the pool is good.
