I contracted G&R to replace my aged furnace and AC unit. The price was fair, better than a local competitor. I was concerned that the size furnace was not going to be adequate for my home. But Scott took the time to show me the results from software they use, and the metrics being considered, when making a decision on the size unit to install.The installation team was very professional and personable. I checked on the progress a few times and each time they were willing to field my questions. They left their workspaces clean, taking every bit of debris with them.The only bumps in the road (more like small speed humps) were that of the delivery of the AC unit and furnace. I wasn’t notified that it would be a separate delivery prior to the install team’s arrival. I had to move my car from the garage to provide a space for the drop. And, after installation, there was a question as to whether I paid for some sort of membership to G&R which would allow for certain discounts on other services and for the one year checkup on the new system.The delivery issue wasn’t really a big deal. But, I would have preferred a confirmation call the day prior with details such as delivery. And, the membership matter was addressed the following day. It was apparently a misunderstanding on the installers part.Overall, I’m very happy with the service to date. Hopefully, I will be just as pleased with their honoring of the warranty should I need that, and with their promise to respond quickly to problems.Service: HVAC system repair

G&R did a tremendous job on our furnace, AC, and hot water heater project. They came out right away to diagnose the issue, talked to me honestly about the options available, and completed the full install in 2 days. Marco Giangrande did a great job and thoroughly checked my equipment. Also recommended next steps to keep furnace running and had detailed explanations as to what components he was checking. Was very friendly and would have work done by him again!! Thanks G and R Heating and air!

Be aware! Their salesmen will try to get you to spend WAY more! Our furnace was blowing cold air the past few days so we had one of the technicians from G&R, Adam, come out and take a look. He was able to diagnose the issue. It was a broken gas valve. Adam told us that with labor and the price of the part our total invoice would be just over $900. But he reassured us with their membership, for only $8 more, we would have the part replaced PLUS 2 free visits within the next year. However, we would have to wait until tomorrow because they need to buy the part directly from the manufacturer, in our case Goodman. After a quick Google search, I found directly on the Goodman website the part that we needed replaced only costs $98.99 before tax. I told him this and his exact words were "I cannot confirm that." I thanked him for his time and told him we would be looking for a second opinion, but would let him know if we wanted to continue with the repair. I called another Local Company in the Rockford area. Not only were they able to arrive within 30 minutes, they replaced the gas valve same day (in about 20 minutes), and charged just under $300 including labor. Please be aware of this business and their sales tactics and always get a second opinion when possible!

I had my boiler cleaned, and I was very pleased how quickly the entire work was done. Rob, the technician, was on time, friendly, and completed the work n less than an hour. This was my second time hiring G&R, and I plan to have them again.

I like to give this company a O star, I hire them to work on my air conditioning and they send what they called a technician, His name is Bob, the guy is an idiot, He couldn't even diagnose it right, He told me that my circuit board is bad. And he wants $1600,00 to replace it, I said no and I'm glad I did, I called another company, the guy checked it and said that the motor is bad, and he reported it and everything works perfectly well, Be careful on who you hiring to do work for you,and always take a second opinion,

Last November our furnace decided to stop working a week before Thanksgiving and we were hosting the Holiday dinner. My wife and I were searching the internet for a well known company with great reviews and we stumbled upon G&R Heating and Air.Adam and the technician were very respectful, customer service oriented, and full of knowledge and answered all of our questions. He was able to fully install a new furnace and a new air conditioner unit before the holiday !The technicians were very organized and completed the install within one day! This is the part! $150 installed by a person who took the time.On June 22nd you sent Marco to my house. My AC was not cooling. Marco told me that my unit was "shot" and I needed a new one.On June 30th a salesman came to my house and quoted me $10,000.I can't afford that. That is crazy.So....next option. No AC. I bought a 10,000 btu room unit for my living room. A friend gave me a unit for my bedroom. And my 18-year-old daughter bought herself a unit for her bedroom.After two, 100 degree days, I finally called for a second opinion.Yes, My units is older but it was not unfixable.My unit was repaired for $150!I feel angry and stupid. I believed Marco when he said my unit was shot.I will not be recommending G&R for any jobs to anyone that I know.I would like my money back for the visit that I had from Marco on June 22nd. I only wish I could get my money back for 2 months of higher electric bills and the room units that where purchased.

I had Adam come out and look at our AC unit. He was friendly right off the bat. Knowledge and informative about the unit. It was a quick fix and are now happy we have our AC working since the 3+ 100° days we had. We also signed up for their membership which will come in handy when we want our furnace checked out later this year.Thank you Adam

We had a great experience. It was a weekend emergency call and the cost was reasonable. The technician quickly diagnosed the problem and just as quickly had it fixed. There was great communication between the company, the technician, and ourselves. I would highly recommend G & R Heating and Air.
