Resale will always be above MSRP but that's the hobby, you're paying for the variety.

Its a HIGH-end collectibles gallery. Their prices are ridiculously high and they're rather snooty owners who weren't interested in any items brought in for an estimate or be sold. I doubt too many items move in or out of the shop, besides from their private collections.

Went to a bunch of card shops in Illinois to find a good shop since I’m from out of town and this one is definitely a favorite. The owner is very knowledgeable and kind. We found this place on accident and got there after close but she was still there and willing to let us look at cards. The cards were not overpriced and there was tons of stuff in the store. We’re glad we found this store and will definitely be back. 100% recommend.

Never coming here again i understand most collector stores want to buy things almost at 50% less then its worth but to offer almost 90% off of what my cards are worth is the most shady thing ever. If anyone else who didmt have knowledge came inside and tried to sell something you would 100% take advantage of them. Also why do we have a kid under 15 making deals on cards? Absolutely ridiculous. I undertsand he needs to learn but he clearly dosent have the knowledge yet to be making these type of transactions. This is a buissnes not a pop up shop. Do better. You're lucky i dont report your shop for having a kid under 15 working.

The Facebook page & store overview on Google vaguely state this place 'buys, sells, trades' but if you're looking to sell more common collectibles, toys, cards, etc. of lower to moderate value, (from my experience) this place probably won't be interested. There's nothing at all wrong with prioritizing high-end value and/or rare items, don't get me wrong! But if you're just looking to downsize your collection and make some money doing so, other resale shops may be a better fit. I'm simply writing this review to advise others who may be unsure. I won't leave a low star rating just because none of my items were bought.

Great shop to go to for Pokémon cards. My son loves going here. They have a wonderful selection of cards and other things. The staff is awesome and friendly! Great prices on the cards as well.

If I could give The Collectors Kid more stars, I absolutely would! Surfsandtrees and I have been coming to Carl, Liz, Gavin and Daryl for our Pops since 2022 before they moved to their new location next door in Batavia.
And of course Dan the man! Seeing him at The Collectors Kid on Sunday after my kidney surgery reminded me of why I love people so much ;) The location where I was able to obtain my beautiful Bulma card from Dragonball Z and Lion King 100 Disney card. The moment you walk through their doors you'll be transported to a world of nostalgic toys, sporting and Pokemon cards.
Besides their endless inventory you can get lost chatting with these marvelous people. Their knowledge and enthusiasm for their work in their products and customer service is so amazing! Shelves top to bottom and walls decorated with beautiful posters, bags, skateboards, and Pop Funko grails!
Whether you're a collector or just someone looking for a unique experience, The Collectors Kid is a definite must-visit in Batavia. You could even watch them on Instagram and WhatNot to see their inventory and shows. However don't hesitate in seeing them physically at the store because you will find yourself lost in a world of curiosities. Thank you guys for all your good work. :)

The Collector's Kid just moved to a larger storefront in the same strip mall that they were located in. They have a great selection of sports cards, Funko POP, Pokemon cards, and even vintage toys. Their WhatNot channel has daily POP sales. They have a ton of football, baseball, and basketball singles (graded and raw) at reasonable prices. They have lots of cards of Cubs, Bears, Bulls and White Sox players too. I bring my kids in a couple of times a month and they love it.
