We had 2 double beds needed, 1 king size
Room smaller than we had last year sink not enough room for toiletries not enough out let's for out phones an hearing aids otherwise okay
Rooms: Don't understand why they all can't be the same as we put in remarks up on top
Safety: Questionable you have areas that are up next there down easily for tripping, which did happen to other people luckily not us
Walkability: It's great?
Noteworthy details: If all understood from remarks from above
All is great. We still had a good time

Great old hotel with a tremendous history.
Nearby activities: Absolutely tons of shopping, ton of variety.

Stopped at Green Tavern late one night for a late dinner in the DeSoto House off main Lobby Desk. Wait staff, Bartenders were all the best. Menu limited but served hot & delicious. Well Done DeSoto House Hotel.
They always have a specials... And soups are great!
Rooms: Entire Hotel was redone in the 1980's and rooms are name after Historical people who stayed there in the past. So much history to see in Galena. The hotel has an hour film room which explains it's great History, (interesting).
Nearby activities: Hotel located off Main Street... Town offers so much to it's guest.

Great hotel in the heart of Galena IL, old time charm, clean place and staff was pleasant and friendly,
Walkability: Plenty of restaurants and shops for days of stay to keep you entertained,

We went in to the Green Street tavern for a quick drink, and got to enjoy chatting with the bartender Grover as he let us know a little bit of the history of Galena and the DeSoto hotel! Fun ambiance and will be sure to stop by again!

Great history, ground, restaurants and store fronts! Best location when staying in Galena, you can’t get better than this. The service is always great. Also a great place to stay if you are looking for an “old” style feel.
