After being involved in an accident I needed to replace my vehicle. Where as other dealerships and salesmen tried to pressure me into buying something I didn't want, or didn't listen to what I was looking to buy, Brendon M. was attentive and willing to work with me. We showed up about an hour before close on a Friday, he stayed while we test drove vehicles and helped me look at other locations to find vehicles that fit my criteria. Even after I found the vehicle I wanted, there was an issue with my pre-approved Financing. Barkau & Sons worked with me to find new financing with better rates than I had.The dealership is good, but Brendon makes it great. If you are in the Freeport area looking for a vehicle, you can't do better than Brendon at Barkau & Sons.

I drove by the other day and noticed this shop is no longer Southland auto body. That doesn't change the awful experience I had at that shop. I'm just going to bullet point this to make it easy. This is from hitting a raccoon.-Painted the front bumper and fenders the wrong color. Blamed the car and color but a highland autobody student was able to match the paint perfect.-Car came in without a front plate bracket. They drilled six holes in the bumper to add this, didnt ask if I wanted it. This is where highland student came in, he offered to fill the six holes and paint the plate filler for practice in class. He did and the paint matched exactly! He recommended I go back to the body shop and ask why they did not tint the paint properly. At that time the shop manager told me he isnt doing anything for me because it's about a year after the repair at this point and isnt sure that it wasnt repainted since.-Various plastics and brackets behind the bumper had epoxy, rivets and zip ties holding then together.-A used radiator was installed that started to leak after about six months. The shop did split a new one 50/50 with me and I had to install it myself.Overall a terrible experience and I still hate looking at the front of my car in the sun because the colors are so obviously different years later.
