I wasn't going to leave a review but Fairway sent me a link to so here we are.
I had a terrible shudder in my van and found the flexible driveshaft coupler was tearing. Normally I'd fix this myself but I could not find the coupler. After some digging I found that Ford discontinued the couple due to them tearing every 30-40k miles, posing the risk of driveshaft disconnect, possibly tearing out brake lines, gas lines, and a signal being sent to put the transmission in park while driving down the road.
I called Fairway ford and told them my issues. They saw the open recall and set up an appointment.
They told me it would be an hr fix, and after an hour and half came out and handed me papers, telling the recall has already been fixed and sent me on my way.
A little confused I left and noticed the shudder was still there. When I got home I read the paper they gave me stating my brakes and tires were good and the recall was previously done.
I called and asked what I needed to do as the recall was still open due to the wrong parts still on the van and a permanent fix according to ford, needed to be done. They caught an attitude and said they'd look into it. A few hours later I called them back and they said they couldn't find any recall but to bring it back in a few days so they could look at it and see if the coupler was bad (apparently they didn't bother the first visit)
I called another Ford service center and told them my issue. They looked it up, saw the recall and ordered the parts and setup an appointment for 3 days later.
I took it to get fixed, and apology after apology i was told there was no longer a recall and they couldn't fix it. After explaining to them there was a recall 3 days prior, they did some research and found that Fairway Ford closed the recall insinuating they fixed it. I called Fairway ford and they told me only the Ford Motor Company could reopen the recall. I asked why they'd close an open recall, and they claimed they wouldn't replaced the coupler ( the coupler that's been discontinued by Ford) but it wouldn't be covered and I refused to bring it back. (Which didn't answer my Q and wasn't the case at all, they had no right or excuse)
The other Ford service center (in Delevan wis) said they would be glad to fix it properly but would have to contact Ford to get the recall opened again. The next day Ford approved the request (again) and was curious to know why a major recall was closed and never fixed.
Needless to say I will never call Fairway Ford in Freeport again, as far as I'm concerned they aren't qualified to work on my vehicle.

Will definitely be the last time I ever buy a car from this location. I bought a 2017 SUV back in 2019. Had nothing but trouble out of it. Today, it's sitting on my lawn with blown head gaskets that I can't afford to fix, and the car still isn't paid for. And I'm sure the company will respond to this with how sorry they are, but if they were really sorry they'd make it right in some way.
RESPONSE to owner- I don't need your philosophy. I either need money or a replacement car.
