“Stopped here for the first time today and really enjoyed our visit with the ladies. They were very friendly and helpful to us and a pleasure to do business with. Will definitely come back when I'm in the neighborhood.”
“The store had nicely priced items and such a variety of everything you could think of. Wish they had more refinished furniture items but I understand how people bring items in to be refinished. Really a neat place to look around tho.”
“I absolutely love this unique shop and friendly service. Through the years I’ve e gotten several beloved pieces and many gifts and fun decor items. Julie makes it all so much fun and easy. Great job with the special Covid era shopping process, too. I’ve also taken advantage of her mail order site and am very pleased.”
“Stopped by after attending the Art Show last Saturday! First visit and very impressed ? So many very nice pieces and great value.Prices are very reasonable. Owner truly nice and informative. We'll definitely be back, hopefully sooner rather than later!!Add this shop on your future visit list!!”
“This is one of the largest Antique malls I have been too. They have hundreds of vendors and this gives their customers a huge variety to choose from. There is something for everyone. I go here a few times a year, and I am always impressed with how many antiques they have. The staff is very friendly and is always very helpful. It's a must-see if you live in the Chicago area.”
“Very easy to order delivery online, prices were fairly reasonable and the flowers looked great. When I called they were very professional and friendly.Would recommend this place and I will be using them again.”
“I went to the store to drop off something that the owner dropped today. I fell in love with this store. There have something for everyone. It is a great place to find gifts for your family and friends that they will treasure. The owner puts her heart and soul in to finding these treasures. I have been looking for something unique for Day of the Dead. I was in complete surprise when I found the perfect item at this store. It is not only unique but beautiful. It will be a great addition to my collection which is mainly store bought not authentic. LuAnn was a pleasure to work with at the store. I look forward to doing some Christmas shopping this year At The Green Bench. Thanks for all your hard work!”
“Love this store. It’s like a museum. Real vintage pieces and some new. Vintage pieces reasonably priced, new ones(clothing, & accessories) a bit high but good quality items and special. Also, some new specialty house items. Nice Sales rep, place smells amazing and it’s super clean.”
“A real, true Antique store. Clean and beautifully set up plus the bestest shop dog. If you are seeking beautiful antique furniture this is a must visit shop. I’m more of a doo-dads person and didn’t buy anything but really valued this place.”
“Trading Post was great! We stopped in a week ago to sell some items and to look around for our first time.We have watched many of the YouTube videos and had an idea of what to expect. Peter accepted our offer for our items and meanwhile we found some items in the shop to purchase. Our finds included vintage dairy cans, John Deere sign, vintage PEZ, pokemon card, and an old railroad lantern! There is a variety of things to look at: tools, equipment, antiques, collectables, music /vinyl , sports and more. It was really neat learning about some pieces and see things we never have seen before. Will be back next time we have a chance to get back north. Thanks Peter, Ruby, Ms. Walters, and Honey!!!”
“Find that unique item that starts conversations! Multiple vendors in a rambling building that USED to be the Funeral Parlor downtown. It adds that creaky-wood-floor dynamic that keeps ya moving... in a good way. Follow the footprints so you don't miss anything. Vintage clothing, furniture, knick-knacks, old bar equipment, jewelry, and music, as well as some outdoor decor. Some things are priced reasonably, others not-so-much, but it's a fun way to spend an hour with your buddies and find something different.”
“Huge. Very clean. Well organized. Very, very expensive!!!! This is a thrift store where you have to look at the prices because you can’t assume you can afford it because it is a thrift store. Workers are generally snotty.”
“I had owned a Hepplewhite chest-on-chest for nigh on 3 decades, and it was past time to restore it. The mahogany veneer was loose at the base, and the corners of the upper chest were quite ugly with the veneer long gone. After only 2 centuries (!), the glue had loosened, internal parts had fallen off and drawers could not be opened. And that wasn't the half of it! So I called Caledonian--one of the best decisions I've ever made. Their knowledge and workmanship are without peer. Not only did Caledonian restore the piece perfectly, but Barrie shared information about the chest-on-chest that I never would have found on my own. These gentlemen are experts; I would not entrust my antiques to anyone else.”
