1956 W School St, Chicago“The best family owned corner store in Roscoe Village. I don't do my grocery shopping here, but if I ever need milk, wine, or a pint of Ben & Jerry's I walk over. They also have a big selection of beer and seltzers. Takes credit and debit. Love the convenience. Love the family! They are such good people and are always there to look for a product or listen to you talk about your day. They even ordered more of a product knowing I kept coming in for it! Thank you, Damen Food & Liquor!”
9AM - 12AM
3724 W 26th St, Chicago“This was no ordinary sampling. This was an anniversary sampling. There were lots of tables set up. When I tell you there was not a liquor that this location didn't have!!! They have everything!”
“The Beer Temple can be summed up with one song that recently played when I was there. Eye Know by De La Soul."It's I again and the soul that I send is taking steps to reach your heartAny moment you feel alone, I can fill up your empty partWe can ascend 'til we reach De La heaven and in a spin, we'll hit the top tenThen we can meet Mr. Stuckie and Pos' brother Lucky will preachLet the wedding begin."No matter the day, these folks can fill even the emptiest of hearts.”
11AM - 10PM
3124 W Cermak Rd, Chicago“Can I put 10 stars?! Hands down one of the best liquor stores in the Chicago area. Every time I’m in Chicago, I make sure to stop by. Sometimes I leave with a sad face but most of the time with a big smile ? Great prices! Affordable! Great specials! I collect tequila bottles and this the place with the rarest, extensive collection of bottles. My biggest issue is when I go, I don’t know which bottle to take home! It’s a little overcrowded, but definitely a place to check out!”
“Sometimes it's hard for me to try the relatively new places. I'm decidedly old school when it comes to burger joints or any joint for that matter. All the bells and whistles and n many of the new spots just don't add up to good grub meat ch less great grub. Not the case with Bitter Pops by a long shot. Sure they are kinda new and are a good looking joint with all the bells and whistles, great decor, nice bar, etc. etc. you just assume the burgers are gonna be just meh. The smash burger here is pretty bomb is all I can say. A very righteous burger in a land of too many average burgers. The double smash patties are cooked just right and crispy on the edges. Topped with the bare minimum you get to actually taste meat and not a slather of toppings. They ration of smash burger to toppings is on time. Accompanied by a side of house chips is the right move. You don't even need to add anything on this smash burger. I'm be if those guys who always adds ketchup mayo whatever. Not so with Bitter Pops burger. The service is excellent as well. We sat at the bar with a really cool and pretty female bartender. I wish I recall her name but I'll get it next time. She was knowledgeable about the offerings and super friendly. That's half of the experience and she hit it outta the park. Try these folks at Bitter Pops you won't regret it.”
“Really great wine store! The staff is also incredibly helpful. I will often come here saying "I am looking for something that tastes like a pinot nior, or pinot gris, etc." and they can easily point me in the right direction of a unique natural wine similar in flavor profile. We are so lucky to have such a cool wine store in this neighborhood!”
“Best corner store ever, their inventory seems to defy logic with the sheer amount of general and specific products they offer. The wine and liquor collection is wide ranging, as are their home products and groceries. Malik is the best clerk, so polite and personable.”
“This is a big warehouse where the old Sam's used to be. The staff is knowledgeable, and the guy helped me find what I was looking for and didn't try to oversell. Went for Glenmorangie, and they had a selection of them to choose from (all the way from 10 to 18 years). Also a great selection of smoky Oaxacan Mezcals from small producers. Plus their non-alcoholic aisle is stupendous. Not just beers, but also wines, champagne and spirits. Probably the best Binny location in the city.”
“Favorite Korean market for how authentic it feels. Prices are good and they carry everything I need for Korean cooking. Tiny restaurant inside serving fantastic and affordable food.”
“I had an amazing experience at Total Wine & More! The store has an impressive selection of wines, beers, and spirits that cater to all tastes and budgets. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helped me find the perfect bottle for a special occasion. The store is well-organized, making it easy to find what”
“I love this shop. As a person who doesn't like the taste of alcohol but also enjoys a nice clean not over sugar beverage... I found it here. I particularly love tost and would recommend. Stop by for a taste test. She usually has something open and willing to help you make your decision.”
“Great place. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and just as helpful (cool for me being new to wine).During our first visit, the owner walked me and my wife through, and we were impressed.Every visit since was just as fun.Give it a try!”
“Best small sized market I've been to, they have everything you need with a deli to boot. Prices are moderately higher but it's all high quality. They have a great flower section, and do really well packaged bouquets for you.”
“Friendly service under new management adjacent to a sports bar. The package goods has a good selection. I found it pricier than before. The sports bar never reopened after about 2 years.”
“Mainstreet is great! A huge selection of everything you'd want, from wine and beer to high end spirits - but with an extremely knowledgeable staff to back it up. I especially recommend asking for help in pairing wine for an event, they will definitely have the answers.”
“This family owned business has been a staple in the area. They are very friendly & helpful. The best part of this place is that unlike most liquor stores, the products here are very competitively priced.”

“Oh, we're sailin' for Captain Jack's, me hearties, so bold,
Where the rum flows like rivers, and the stories are told,
In his liquor store so fine, we'll find treasures untold,
Raise a glass to Captain Jack, for he's worth his weight in gold!
With a hearty "Ahoy!" and a mug raised high,
We'll toast to our captain, reach for the sky,
In his liquor store, we'll be merry and free,
Captain Jack's the finest, as fine as can be!
So hoist up the flagon, let the revelry start,
In Captain Jack's liquor store, we're singin' with heart,
We'll drink to the sea, and to adventures untamed,
In his boozy haven, we're forever unchained!
From whiskey to brandy, and the finest of wine,
Captain Jack's got it all, and it's all so divine,
So join our merry crew, and let's raise a cheer,
For Captain Jack's liquor store, the best far and near!
Oh, we'll sing and we'll drink, till the break of the day,
In Captain Jack's liquor store, we'll forever stay,
So come join our crew, and don't think twice,
In this pirate's paradise, we'll find our slice of paradise!”

The staff was also super helpful, friendly, and welcoming. I highly recommend this place to anyone on the south side if you're looking for something special that may be hard to find anywhere else. It's well worth a car trip, and I'll definitely be coming back.”

Hard to come by today. (I apologize as I forget her name.) Came in a second timethe other day and picked up a couple of things and met Adam who was also a great person!Didn’t want to take up too much of their time but a great shop nonetheless. A great experience both times. Highly recommend.”

We have died here twice in the past week and I've had consistent good service, delicious food and wonderful dining experiences. Megan and Taylor were great!”
“The guys who work here would make it enjoyable even if there wasn’t an impressively diverse selection of beer/wine/liquor - which definitely isn’t the case! Love this spot can’t beat it!”
“Great selection and so convenient to my house. Friendly staff.UPDATE: One year later and this place is still a treat to shop. Decent prices, and most of all convenient for the neighbor people. I can easily walk a couple of blocks for some beer and feel like I'm doing something healthy. ;)”
