On Friday, 03/10/23, I went to urgent care (walk-in) due to a stomach problem that I have been bothered since Wednesday, the entire check-in routine was fine until the nurse practitioner arrived ( Jessica Schafer). My experience with her was extremely unpleasant and very unprofessional of her to treat a patient. First of all in nursing school the first thing they teach you is to always knock on a patients door, to which she did not do. Secondly, she didn't even read what the nursing assistant had noted in the papers before even coming into the room (she basically came in blindly). Therefore I told her what was going on and reason of the visit and also mentioned to her that I had to go to the ER back in January as well because it related to my stomach. On top of that I asked her if by any chance the ER sent over the notes of this incident to my primary doctor that works at Park primary care (Dr. Thomas) so she can have a better insight of what procedure and medications I was given. However she said they do not do none of that. Thirdly, I know that nurses always take a nursing foundations class and throughout nursing school I know that they always teach them that patients do not know medical terms so you always need to make sure the patient understands what is being taught/suspected. You can't just assume a patient knows a specific name of a bacteria. So in this case, she told me she suspected I had a bacteria (she said the bacteria name which I can't remember the name of). Therefore, since I didn't understand and she didn't explain. I told her that maybe it could be stomach flu and she proceeded to respond offensively "what you are saying doesn't makes sense, we are talking about the same thing". To which It made me mad therefore in the tone she spoke to me. I just said "I'm not going to fight on this, do what you have to do, if you're not willing to listen you can send someone else". And she said "we don't have anyone else, we can refund your money if that's what you want. I will make a report in which I offered you treatment and you refused it" then she stood up and turned around and left the room. In less than three seconds she came back and told me that she had to examine me. To which I answered, "you are the one who left I never said not to do anything to me. You are supposed to be the medical professional. Just don't expect me to talk to you with medical terms that I don't know that is why I preferred to say do what you have to do". I said this along with the Nursing assistant in the room. It made me feel uncomfortable because she didn't even ask me and she made me feel like I was an aggressive person, which I don't think I am I just said to stop, and to do what she had to do. Therefore when she began to examine my stomach, she did not ask me if it hurt then she proceeded to listen to my lung sounds when she finished the examination she gave me some lab tests that I had to get done. The following day she called me and said that indeed I had a bacteria and that she would send me the medicines. She never talked about the blood results that were to check other things apart from what I had in my stomach and she asked me to make a follow-up appointment But I told her not to worry that I'd rather not to be under her care and attend another appointment with her. To which she proceeds to say I'm so sorry this is all I can say but you can talk to Dr. Thomas about it if you want.Overall this experience was very unprofessional from her side and stating that I can get a refund. I am not at a store where you can return things. My health is not something I can get a refund for and it is not something that should be said about someone's health concerns. It is something valuable and serious. Very unprofessional, rude, and uncomfortable experience and care I got from this nurse practitioner. Never again will I have her attend me.-Galdina U

I went here for the first time. Everyone from the time I walked in until the time I walked out was fantastic. I had a medical evaluation, x-rays, they followed up with me on what they found. They gave me a result of the x-rays on a disk and sent the results and the x-rays to my primary care physician. I highly recommend them.

Caring staff and they make sure they try to handle your issues and concerns. Definitely recommend them as opposed to going to the ER.

This is the best care facility by far. Every person that answers the phone is kind and caring. The people that take your pulse and blood pressure are even awesome and thorough. The doctors that I have seen have a big heart. They are truly concerned about helping you. They give you time to talk about your concerns and most of all they listen . How many doctors have you gone to where you felt the doctor listened to you and truly cared. Well this is the place to go for true help.

They have everything you need there and you never wait too long to be seen. An added benefit is there’s a pharmacy on site so you can get everything done at one place. Always had a good experience here.

Yeah, don’t come here if you need more than a hug.I came in with a broken ankle the “Dr” could see my ankle was the size of a basketball felt sorry for me but couldn’t do more than a aspirin and a ace bandage.. the only reason why I came here is because I sat in little company of Mary for 8 hrs in pain and seen no one. Personally if you have anything wrong with you and you can’t make it out of evergreen your probably going to die.

The care that you will receive is A+ from the girls at the front desk, to the dr’s pa’s and medical staff, to the lab, to the X-ray techs and also the conveniently located pharmacy. I originally visited the urgent care center a few times, and the care I received from the staff was great. I have a myriad of complex health issues and Dr Thomas, Dr Kristina Johnson, Rachel Brucas PA-C, Jessica Schaffer PA-C, were outstanding. They are one of the only health providers who knew understood my (uncommon) diagnosis, and I have been to MANY healthcare facilities. I was and continue to be impressed with their knowledge, patient care, continuity of care, and genuine interest in helping me that I switched and made their sister practice Park Primary Care my primary physicians. They are truly a blessing to our community, and I am thankful that I found them.

This clinic is very close to my home and I was going to stop by, but after trying to make an appointment by phone and dealing with a very passive aggressive receptionist, I will not be. I called the previous evening for some information from someone who obviously had a long day, so I called in again in the morning hoping for some better service. Same attitude. I really just was trying to be polite as possible and just make an appointment because I’m unwell. Im very disappointed. I felt uncomfortable even talking w her. This is strange, as I never had this issue before. Lots of deep breaths and sighs, talking over, not communicating information clearly, the fact I had to call the next day to get more clarification because she wasn’t being straightforward… Maybe some more training is needed…

Very good bed side manner. Friendly and thorough with examinations. Also, their services areprovided in a reasonable time frame. You feel as tho you really are in an urgent care but you don’t feel rushed. They don’t have you waiting around for hours.

This use to be a really great convenient option for urgent care. Now it seems all they do are rapid Covid tests, which slows everything down. Even as a patient I can not get same day appointments if I'm sick. I am told to sign in as a walk in. I waited over three hours to get a simple antibiotic prescription refilled.

This place is a scam! I came in here to get a Covid Test. According to their website, they offer Covid Testing no appointment necessary. Great! Signed in, took a seat. This is the scam. The clinic wants to charge you a co-pay to see the doctor even though you are not sick . Once the Doctor sees you, then they perform the covid test. They want your complete medical info and a debt card so they can keep on file. This is very strange especially for a covid test. Mind you this is not urgent care. If this was an urgent care visit, I wouldn't care. Their only response was "This is the policy to see a doctor for a covid test". Strange. They also said they are a private business and receive no state funds. All they need to do is bill the insurance (they still receive money). I took my ID's and left. Instead, I went to SMS in Oak Lawn. SMS was much easier, same day appointment, no out of pocket costs, no doctor visit needed and efficient. Just beware of this place when you need a covid test. Again it does not state this on their main website, instead you really have to dig for it. This can be very deceiving and a waste of your time.
