Had two passport appointments only to wait both time for over 2 hours to be told they’re under staffed and can’t renew passport.

I just came to deliver a business letter internationally. I left feeling confused on why I, the customer, was given rude service despite being cordial and civil the entire 20 minutes I was there. I asked a simple question and was told yes but to hurry they close soon. Then I came up to checkout, and the lady muttered under her breath, “Of course it’s international” in a snarky way. She left me feeling nervous because her misdemeanor was scary to me. I accidentally pressed yes on a pop up as she was making me nervous by how much anger she had, and she talked to me again in a bad attitude. I never expected to be leaving the post office scared and anxious. Would not recommend to come here, make the drive to another location.

Good, but the lines were so long my friend wanted a shot of him laying down ?

Always helpful and fun. Clarissa, I hope I spelled it right, has a great attitude and is friendly. Not sure what the bad reviews are about.

Abusive and incredibly rude staff and manager, I'd HIGHLY encourage the postmaster to look into the behavior of the employees at this location.Per the code of ethics for USPS employees section 665.16 Behavior and Personal Habits"Employees are expected to conduct themselves during and outside of working hours in a manner that reflects favorably upon the Postal Service. Although it is not the policy of the Postal Service to interfere with the private lives of employees, it does require that postal employees be honest, reliable, trustworthy, courteous, and of good character and reputation. The Federal Standards of Ethical Conduct referenced in 662.1 also contain regulations governing the off–duty behavior of postal employees. Employees must not engage in criminal, dishonest, notoriously disgraceful, immoral, or other conduct prejudicial to the Postal Service. Conviction for a violation of any criminal statute may be grounds for disciplinary action against an employee, including removal of the employee, in addition to any other penalty imposed pursuant to statute."They did NOT display good character or courteous behavior today. They were hostile and aggressive from the get go, one even screamed at me for asking a question, with other patrons as witness. The manager was worse, condescending and even more aggressive, what a miserable old witch.Avoid this post office at all costs. Seriously.

The layout of the office is poorly designed and instructions provided were confusing. There was some miscommunication with the teller.

We have been having multiple issues with the Evanston post office losing checks in the mail over the past several months. It's gotten to the point where I don't want to mail anything because I have no guarantee or assurance that it will get there at all, and no one who works there cares.

Horrible. If the line is empty you'll find the woman on the phone when you walk up and will act bothered and not be helpful at all. This was our experience when going there about missing mail.Today, when I went the line took 20 mins+ for 3 people because there was a customer arguing with the teller. When I got up there to get a label for a priority envelope she wanted the address written down and wouldn't allow me to show it to her on the phone claiming she cannot print labels there and only the machine could. So I went to the machine. Hopefully machines replace these people soon.

It’s my wife’s birthday. Her present made it all the way from Austria only to be lost by the Evanston Post Office after they made one attempt to deliver when I wasn’t home. They’re absolutely inept. There’s no organization to what they’re doing, you can see them just looking randomly in back. “Here’s a number to call” …for what? For who? What difference will it make? What should I even say? This is why people hate the government.EDIT: They found the package after they threatened to bring in the postal inspector and my wife said, yes, please do. It was delivered to the wrong apartment block. Look, people make mistakes, we all do, but the number of people at this place who just threw up their hands and said 'well, there's nothing we can do!' just astounds me. What other job can you do that at? Like just hitting a wall of apathy. I don't envy working here, I've had retail jobs, I've worked a service desk, I've been the manager when people ask to talk to the manager. It's no fun. But you hae to just smile through it, that's why you have that job. Was anybody rude? No. They were just dismissive. Just big shoulder shrugs up the line until the inspector was threatened then finally they kicked into gear.Somewhat related: just a few days ago our lobby was filled with packages and there were my frustrated neighbors from a different apartment block asking to be let in to get them, because they were, again, delivered to the wrong lobby.I don't know if its the drivers or the demands put on them that lead to mistakes being made but c'mon, figure it out! Our lives are more and more tied to getting things in the mail and we can't escape it. Have an environment, and people, that can encourage getting it done accurately. I hate dreading the idea of something expensive being in the mail because who knows what's going to happen to it, and if something does, trying to face the apathy-wall to figure it out.

Trash as always. Post office workers don’t risk losing their job if they lose your package 3 times in a row so it figures. Go to UPS instead and save your time

The staff refused to service an online appointment for passport and the reason given was lack of staff, not sure why they are taking appointments in the first place.

Not sure why this place has such a horrible rating. It's truly the best post office in the area. I'll go out of my way to go here instead of one closer to Rogers Park. Had my passport photo taken and loved it! Great ladies behind the desk! Also, just a cool historical building in general.

Absolutely the worst post office experience I’ve endured. For 10 years now, the experience at this location is abysmal. Service is slow. Lines are always long and it takes 30 minutes at minimum to see a teller. Tellers are rude and never explain anything—that’s if they’re not putting up a window closed sign and just chatting with someone they know while the line grows. Additionally, my neighbors and I also get each other’s mail all the time and we have to walk over and deliver it to the right house. And I’m talking about checks and other sensitive mail. Someone needs to do some serious quality control on this branch. Please.

You would think the automated systems might work...or that they would stock flat rate boxes...or would have a pen. You'd be wrong.
