My husband and I recently purchased a Navajo Rug in Arizona and we wanted to frame the artwork and hang it up in our home. The Great Frame Up was nearby. The service was excellent and they delivered on what we needed. Custom framing is new to me and I didn't realize how involved the process is. There are several options for custom framing (mat color, frame style, glass) and we decided Conservation Framing was the way to go. Bob took care of us and let us know it would take a few weeks to complete. He gave us a time frame of 3 weeks. When we finally received our finished piece it was perfect. The Great Frame Up is a solid place for your framing needs.

The frame looks nice from a distance but up close the craftsmanship is terrible and not what I would expect for the cost. I will not have anything else framed here. I am disappointed based on the all good reviews.When I first picked up my frame, all but one corners did not meet and there were large gaps and chips in the frame. I brought it back and pointed out the issues and they said they would fix it - this photo is what fixing it meant. All the corners look like this and it looks terrible. I decided not to bother asking them to fix it again.

The man there took the time to help me find a unique frame style that I could have never come up with myself. It highlighted my painting perfectly, and I’m so happy with it. I highly recommend going there.

I had just moved in August and brought several works of art that needed to be framed or re-framed and I brought them to The Great Frame Up on Central Street. The personnel were professional, courteous, and did a great job with the pieces. Then (recently) I found two other pieces that needed their expert care...one to be framed and the other to be re-framed. As with the original orders. Their work was impeccable and their prices were within my budget! I have recommended this store to friends.

I got to know The Great Frame Up, first, when it honored my daughter's and her classmates' artwork through the L.I.S.A. (Life Is Simply Art) program it sponsors at area schools: I wanted to "pay back" its support of area art with my business. My patronage has long ago stopped being about reciprocity, though, and is instead based on great work, the artistry of the assistance I get there, and the enjoyment I derive from the overall experience. The people at both the Northbrook and Evanston locations are all lovely. I have framed over 30 pieces of artwork between the two locations and would never go anywhere else.

They have been helping me with my framing for years. They moved to this location recently, I thought they had closed, but I'm glad to see they just moved. They always do perfect work and you couldn't ask for better prices! Ask for Bob!

I've had over a dozen pieces framed at the Great Frame Up in my neighborhood on Central Street in Evanston. In each and every case the work was done expertly, with great attention to detail and a high level of care. Stacy is the ultimate professional who really knows her stuff (ask for her if possible). She's done everything from big to small, standard to highly customized pieces for me. Each time, we collaborate on the appropriate frame, matting, glass and any and all other details and working with her is a delight. In fact, at the moment I have two new pieces waiting to be done. You won't go wrong with the folks at the GFU.
