Sam’s auto is an excellent service for all your car needs. Sunny is a very professional, helpful and fair mechanic. I had a major bump with scratches on my car and he fixed it perfectly. It looked like it had never happened. Also at a very reasonable cost. I will definitely go straight to him should I have any car repair need in the future. By far the best I ever tried.

Promoting Transparency, Ethical Practices, and BBB Accreditation in the Auto Repair IndustryAs a conscientious consumer, I feel compelled to address the importance of transparency and ethical practices within the auto repair industry. One specific concern relates to the neighboring auto shop, "Sam's Auto," which has been employing misleading tactics and capitalizing on the established reputation of Mid America Body Shop. It is important to note that "Sam's Auto" does not hold an accredited rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB).The BBB accreditation serves as a valuable indicator of a business's commitment to ethical conduct, customer satisfaction, and prompt resolution of customer complaints. Accredited businesses voluntarily adhere to the BBB's Standards for Trust, which include transparency, honesty, and a dedication to resolving customer concerns. This accreditation provides consumers with the confidence to make informed decisions and trust in the businesses they choose to support. While "Sam's Auto" attempts to associate themselves with the reputable Mid America Body Shop, it is essential for consumers to consider the absence of BBB accreditation when evaluating their options. By being aware of this information, we can make informed choices and support businesses that prioritize ethical practices, excellent customer service, and fair competition.I strongly encourage individuals seeking auto repair services to conduct thorough research, including verifying the credentials, reputation, and BBB ratings of the businesses they are considering. The BBB website offers a wealth of information, such as business profiles, customer reviews, and records of any complaints filed against a company. By utilizing these resources, we empower ourselves as consumers and contribute to a marketplace that values transparency, integrity, and customer satisfaction.Let us prioritize businesses like Mid America Body Shop, which proudly holds a BBB accreditation and has established a long-standing reputation for ethical practices, exceptional customer service, and the highest standards of workmanship. By choosing such businesses, we support fairness, trust, and the continued growth of the auto repair industry.

No idea how these guys are getting 5 stars. I had a nightmare drawn out situation with Sunny (Sam?) and his son after my car was in a hit and run and needed to go through insurance. It took months for the shop to connect with the insurance adjuster and other contacts- I became the middleman, eventually having to go to the store personally to ask why Sams Auto wasn't returning calls or sending in the necessary paperwork. After this months long headache, the "fix" left me without working side mirrors among a host of other problems that weren't fully resolved. This took another couple months to convince the shop it needed to be a supplemental insurance claim due to their shoddy work, that it was not an "original problem" from the original accident. This cost me another significant amount of money for them to fix the mistake they did not admit to. It was clear that the shop was upcharging and squeezing my insurance to pay for their mistake, but at this point I had no options - it was a safety concern for me to drive. These guys have attitude and slimy business practices that cost me upwards of a thousand bucks and a real pain in the you-know-what. My mistake going here initially to try to save a few bucks.

My car was broken into and damaged. Sam was quick to reapond scheduled a date to drop off my car. He Adviced me on my insurance and was able to get the work 100% covered. I originally went to a select service shop that was recommended by insurance. They kept up-selling me and said only part of the repair was covered and rest would be out of pocket. Almost spent and extra $850 but thankfully Sam figured out a way without affecting my rates or filing a new claim.

I have been using their service for more 25 years from location and other. I always have a great experience, perform more than excellent job. I walk out more than my expectation. Even if there is a small work or large amount of work the qualify of service is always great. The look of the shop may not be very great but the work is great. I am very happy and I recommend everyone to go here and feel the experience.

My 2020 Hyundai Elantra was stolen. They bussed out the back passenger tinted window and took out the bottom panel to the ignition. It was found the same day with no gas and I towed it here to Sams Auto Repair and Body Shop. My insurance is with Geico and it took about a month but my car looks/sounds brand new. Better then before! It was definitely worth the wait. I want to thank Sunny for his help! He is kind and gets the job done!Services: Electrical repair

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sam's Auto Repair and Body Shop! Gerber totally ghosted me for 2 months, so I went on Yelp to find a local shop and stumbled upon Sam's. It's proof for how valuable reviews on Yelp are, because they are right! Sam's was amazing! They were very responsive, communicative, and did a great job of managing my expectations. In fact, they went above and beyond the call of duty to fight for me with my insurance company and ended up saving me money that might normally have been passed down to me. If you ever need any body work or other repairs, GIVE SUNNY A CALL!! He is terrific. If I ever need more work done, he will be the first person I call.

I normally never leave bad reviews but i feel that if i didn't in this case I'd be hurting future trusting customers. I had a very negative experience which I've shared with my collegues and they agreee it was a rip off.I have a 2015 Honda Accord with 230K miles. The flexible piece (bumper) got pulled off so i had the car towed there. It could have been driven but i was in Naperville and was worried about the highway wind. It arrived there at 4:30 and the Sunny, who said he as a worker, inspected it. Most places do a FREE INSPECTION, and theres a sign saying free inspection and he came up with a quote of 3200 which he quoted everything as if fixing it perfect and inflated times. I came the next day to discuss it and he gave me an invoice of 375.00 which was 200 inspection fee and 125 daily storage. He said he's doing me a favor because its normally 175 storage. Trusting him i asked what would he do since the car is only worth 5000-7000. He said he as a friend that can take it for 100.00. I said no because at least i want 1000 as is. We agreed that he'd waive the 375 free inspection fee and give me 500 if i can get the title asap. I agreed and went to the DMV. I was told it would be 4-6 weeks so i went back at Sam's and said it would take too long that i'd just take the car back and sell it when i get the title. Then he handed me a bill for $709.00. It's 12:50pm and i just went to the DMV to do our deal, and this is less than 48 hours later. I said why is he charging me for 3 days storage. He says storage fee starts at 12:00. I said i went to the DMV in good faith pursuant to our deal and it said it didn't matter and tried showing me a paper where he charged some customer 1500 for one day storage. Trying to show me its a deal i'm getting. I know that's the way some business work but he's charging $125 for 50 minutes AND he had me wait till he completed another customer quote (about 25 minutes).I said I thought this was wrong and bad business but he just pretended he didnt understand. He orginally took a copy of my license for the file but no work was done so I said i'd like the paper with my license back. He refused saying it was for them. I said but we're not doing any business but he still refused.A few things. 1st, I think Sunny is the owner and not a worker.2nd. That's the way some places do business and that's fine. which is why i politely paid the bill. But i told him i'm not happy.3rd. I learned a lesson not to trust people even if they seem honest. We have a business too. And as the owner, i care about referrals more than any individual sale. So we strive to do our best for people to make a win/win situation. It would bother me personally if i didn't try to make every customer satisfied and want to tell their friends. Some businesses don't share that philosophy and Sam's Auto Repair is one of them.I will never go back to Sam's Auto Repair. I just am posting this because I was trusting as most people are, but here you'll get taken advantage of.Sometimes you wonder if these small hole in the wall type places are really gems with hard workers but sometimes there's a reason why they're still hole in the wall type places. I learned my lesson.Sometimes we have to bend to other people's reality. Like I did when although i don't agree with they way he ripped me off or their tactics, i still paid the bill in full. But it works two ways. Now I cannot in good conscience not tell other people my experience. That's my reality and i'm sure Sam (Sunny) would understand.$700 bucks isnt bad for a life lesson i guess. Anyway, I'd say dont go there.Service: Vehicle Inspection

Sunny did a great job on my car. My car had a bunch of scratches and he provided great service and fixed them with great care, gave me back my car brand new, with detailing and everything. He even cleaned my car inside out without me even asking for it.Amazing job and customer service ?

Sunny was very professional and trustworthy. We had a small hit with color poped off on our brand new Chevy Bolt 2023. Other shops wanted to replace the hood for a lot of many. Sunny suggested to make a local fix for half price, without needing to replacing the hood. The repair is just perfect. It is impossible to see that a fix been made. Thank you!

This was far the most honest car repair shop I’ve run across. I will always go to Sam’s for any needs I may have for my car. They were very honest with me giving me alternatives to any repairs including more economical options. I highly recommend them.

I have a BMW 330i, and at about 30,000 miles. My car reminded me that my rear brake pads needed to be replaced, so I called Sam for an appointment to have my pads replaced today. After Sam inspected my pads carefully, he told me that my rear brake pads still had about 3/4 life left, and that they didn't need to be replaced at all at this time, also I could drive the car for another year or so before I considered replacing them. I told him that I am a student at Northwestern University and he considered that it would be a lot cost for me as a student on repairing my car and he also be honest with my brake pads, he also offer a student discount for Northwestern students. Sam is a very kind person, I will continue to visit Sam’s in the future when my car needs any service and also refer to my friends.
