Thank you.

I’m out over $800 for glasses that have never had a good prescription, and that don’t fit, lens coatings that are peeling off, and a curt little line about how there’s NOTHING they can do to help me.
The singular positive thing I can say about this business is that Dr. Patel is exceptionally nice and friendly and the entire reason I used them. Sadly, that’s it. There’s nothing else good to say about Rosin Eyecare in Evanston.
This optometrist business deserves no stars at all. They are the most incompetent and dishonest I have ever encountered. They made me wait 6 months to receive the glasses I paid for, because they had to redo the lenses three or four times. Every time they redo the lenses it took weeks to get them, in one case almost an entire month! I lost count of how many times they screwed up. They blamed me for not adjusting to the lenses, but they were the ones who messed up. They wasted a month between each redo, and they never showed any remorse or accountability.
The glasses never fit me well, no matter how many times I went back for adjustments. They were always too loose, or they became loose very quickly after an adjustment. They slid down my nose; they tilted to one side; they fell off easily. They were a hassle to wear, and this NEVER got better no matter how many times I pleaded with them for help.
And now, 6 months later, the coating on the lenses is failing. It looks awful, and it affects the vision. I visited them to demand a refund or a replacement, but they denied. They said that the glasses were out of warranty and the prescription expired literally by a matter of days. They ignored that I only had them for 6 months because of their incompetence and delays. They accused me of not taking care of the glasses properly by using a soft dish towel to dry them after washing them with tap water. I always kept them in a case, and I never dropped them or scratched them.
This optometrist business is a rip-off. They took over $800 from me and gave me nothing but trouble and frustration for a year with a pair of glasses that have been awful to wear, and now they’re telling me “tough luck” they can’t help me at all. I feel completely cheated and duped. Do yourself a favor and stay away from them at all costs. They are the worst of the worst.

Amy and Morgan were incredible, kind, and so fun to work with! Dr Shpountova was thorough, efficient and very knowledgeable as well. They were able to fit me in the same day due to another doctor canceling on me, and everyone was a joy to work with! Highly recommend!

I had an appointment with Rosin and the optometrist was fantastic. I highly recommend the her that's why it saddens me to give this location 3 stars. It's due to the customer service. I have vision insurance that covers my eye exam at no cost however I was charged $300 for my exam. When I questioned it with the person that helped me afterwards she said it's because it was coming up as pediatric insurance which is incorrect. The company that I work for doesn't just offer peds insurance. After I contacted my employer and Unum they stated that there must be an issue in the way it was processed. So I reach back out to Rosin clerks an each person kept telling me to file a claim with my insurance even after I gave them the number to reach out to my insurance company they didn't want to do that and told me a manager would get back to me to explain the next day and that didn't happen either. The issue with submitting a claim to the insurance company only guarantees me what the contract rate is between them and the provider. It's annoying that I even have to go through these steps to get maybe a quarter of a refund back. Once again the Optometrist is FANTASTIC, she's so kind and patient but the customer service should be addressed.

4 WEEKS ago, I ordered replacement contact lenses. I have called to find out why I haven't received them in the mail. I have gotten inarticulate apologies, with zero (0) follow up. I was assured that I would get a follow up call within a week, letting me know when I could expect them. No call. No follow up. Manager was on "vacation."No one knows anything. No one knows who to call. This is the most incompetent ophthalmologist I have ever encountered. I still have no answers, no contact lenses, nothing. But, I'm out over $435.00.

Optometrist is not really good and left me with impression that they care less about their patients. Both glasses, mine and my child’s broke within a year. The practice in Chicago is a lot better.

The doctor is very good and kind but the person who helps us figure out what kind of lens we like, that person is not kind.

Worst eye care I have experienced ever! Staff was unpolite and Dr Patel was rude and really didn't care about solving my problem. They asked me to go earlier as they said they had other patients after me, but when I was there I saw them closing the office after me, so they just wanted me to get there earlier so the Dr. could leave early. That would have been the less of my concerns if Dr Patel had been nice, but she was rude, she did not solve my issue, and she clearly was thinking more on leaving than on solving my problem.I had been to Michigan Ave Rosin Eyecare before a few times and I had always had a good experience, but the Evanston office is clearly not aligned neither to good customer service, nor good doctors. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.Check out the Yelp reviews on this place which are 2.5 stars - I still don't understand how they get so many good reviews in here.

Patrick O. I have bought at least 2 pairs of glasses here. I was satisfied with glasses and customer service. Yesterday, I went in to see if they could repair ( the right side was broken off) my glasses. They looked at the glasses very quickly and said curtly " we don't do that here. You need to go a jeweler". I asked if they could send the glasses to the lab offsite. She said "'No, Rosin doesn't have a lab". Well then how did they make my glasses? It was not a good customer experience. I went a jeweler who could not do it. I went a Dr. Eye ( competitor ) in Lincolnwood They actually did it for free- I offered to pay . But they said no. This experience makes me not want to use Rosin on Central Street in Evanston for a new prescription in October. FYI I've never written a YELP review until now. Thanks, Patrick O. ....

Note that only open in Evanston on Thursday and Friday. Evanston ph. number goes to Buffalo Grove despite being listed on Central St. door--and making an appt, at that number I was not informed it was for Buffalo Grove, despite being a several year client. Caution!

I have a complicated prescription. The team patiently works to ensure I see as well as possible. Dr Patel is very good optometrist and a pleasure to work with. Amy is a talented customer service professional.
