I wish I can score lower. I had my car 12 years and never had a problem with repair. Less than 10,000 miles and $4,000 , less than 12 months later I am paying $1,000 for the same services. Breaks, calibers, rotors when i barely drive. Never again. I called and the guy said I was last there in 2022, but I checked my receipt and it was 2023. So i am still in warranty. The service was so bad I will not use that warranty my car was smoking immediately after they repaired it. Now at the new place they said their products used were cheap!

I wanted a quick inspection for my car and I tried Midas. I thought it is just a simple inspection but it ended on having my car rest assured safe to drive. The customer representative explained to me what is to be done with my car and showed me which ones.Everything went well and the job was done beyond my expectations. And one more cool thing is Midas offers their own credit card if you need a financial assistance.Midas is the best place to have.

Thank you to the Midas Team for servicing my car! Although, they were busy they took the time to explain to me what may be wrong with my tires and did the alignment and proper adjustment. Price was fair and just. Problem solved ! Happy Customer!

Edgar, Jerry and the staff at Midas (Evanston) are first class. Knowledgable, professional and alway responsive. It's been 7+ years of great service for both our vehicles. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Highly recommend.

I asked them to look to see why my heat was not working in my F150. They told my I needed to replace some hoses and my heater blower motor. They told me my truck was ready and my heat was working. When I picked the truck up, the heat was not working and was the exact same as before. Did not get warm at all. Now I'm sure they made me replace things that did not need replaced. They don't know what they are doing here. I wouldn't take my vehicle to them.

I asked them to look at my truck to see why the heat is not working. They told my I need a new thermostat even though the thermostat was changed the day prior to bringing my truck to them. They were just guessing. They told me I needed to change my heater blower motor and some hoses to the tune of over $1000. After they were finished, they told me the heat was working now. I get in the truck and the heat was not working whatsoever. They lied so that I would pay. They have no idea what they are doing. I would absolutely avoid this place if I were you. I should have read the reviews first.

Actually, I refused to let Midas repair my brakes. By the time they made excuses for "being required to" perform TONS more work than was really needed, the estimate grew to about $1800. So I bought the parts myself ($80) & had a friend do the job ($125) in my driveway one afternoon. I will never bother with Midas again. Up-charging rip-off artists that they are. Like many service companies these days, their primary skill is getting unsuspecting customers to buy MUCH more than they really need. Shame on them. I'd rather starve than work for such a bunch of crooks. jonox @ oxnay com, eight 4 seven, 4one 4,too ate one 3.Service: Brakes

I' have been taking my car to Midas in Evanston for over 10 years. The service, quality of the work and expertise of the technicians has been excellent. I would like to add another star and make it a 6 star rating.

The absolute worst auto shop you can go to, avoid at all cost. The staff here are not only rude and unhelpful, but tried to sell me on things that definitely did not need to be repaired. They try to pray on people who may not understand things clearly, a terrible business practice. According to my receipt Jerry is the person who “helped me”, make sure to leave if you see him at the register.I was having issues with my car and had to get it towed over to Midas. I knew it was an issue with the battery or the alternator and asked them to look at it. They said it would cost $50 and would call me after they had looked at it. A couple hours later, I get a call saying they not only want to charge me $190 for a battery I can buy for $120 elsewhere, but they also want to replace my oil, change my cars filters, and fix my back taillight for over $400 total. The issue with this is, I had Midas replace my oil less than a month ago so not only did these scam artists not check my oil, but they also couldn’t even read their own sticker on my windshield. Additionally, my cars filters were replaced less than a year ago so all they are trying to do is trick me out of money. And I can’t say for sure, but I would almost guarantee that there was nothing wrong with my lights. So, I go on to ask if I can supply my own battery and pay them to install, which they reply it needs to be the right battery. I tell them I already checked with my manual and the store selling the battery to make sure I have the right one. Then they say they can’t do it because it won’t be covered by their warranty, which I say is fine, I wouldn’t trust their warranty anyway. Finally, they said they just won’t do it, so I said that was fine and I will come by to get my car to do it myself. They made sure to let me know I still have to pay them $50 and cannot use any of their tools or space. They could have easily just said they can’t install third party batteries from the start. So, I come in to make the battery swap and pay for the “work” they did do and then got to work in the rain, all while the staff is watching me out in the lot, loafing around and laughing at me as I struggle to make the fix. I ended up having to go down the street to AutoZone to ask to borrow a socket extender, because I know Midas wouldn’t dare offer a hand, and they were more than willing to give me one. I should mention that as I left for the store, the manager made sure to come out and let me know that if I did need them to look at the alternator after the battery swap, they would charge me the $50 fee again. Fortunately, the battery swap fixed the car and other than having to go back to get them to refund an extra charge they put on the receipt, I will never be back here. I should add that when I went to get the refund, Jerry looked at me and left the register so that someone else could refuse my request. My request being that they charged me an environmental fee for battery disposal, which is an absolute joke as I replaced and recycled the battery on my own, so I am now having to go through my credit card company.

July 2023 by Amber Veronese
I work in the area and needed to get my brakes checked out. I went to this Midas location in May 2023 to get an oil change and at this time they asked if I wanted to do a brake check while I was at it. I said no, unfortunately I'm super busy at work (which is basically all of the time) and because at the time my brakes seemed fine. I went back in July 2023 to get my brakes looked at because this time they were making noises. They called me twice (again - super super super busy at work) and also emailed twice. I work in a high pressure job and calling and calling won't give me any extra time to discuss my car. As soon as I had a free moment I took an Uber there right away since it seemed urgent because they contacted me 4 times in a matter of 3-4 hours. When I got there my car wasn't put back together and was told that they didn't put it back together because I didn't call back. Okay, fine, whatever. Then I was told that I needed to pay a $35 diagnostics fee since I denied the brake check when I went for my oil change. Okay, fine, whatever. I paid the fee and went on with my day. However, last straw was when I was given the ultimate bill (over 1k). Again - I only work in the area - I live 90+ minutes away. I don't have the money to just throw around. For most people 1k is a HUGE deal. I needed time to think about scheduling the service, how I was going to get to work from where I live, and needed to figure out budgeting to fix this. I definitely looked concerned and frustrated and I didn't know what to do. I told the guy at the counter I would schedule when I figured things out, but couldn't do it right at this second. He lectured me on how it's unsafe to drive with grinding metal-on-metal, which okay, I totally understand but bro come on. I signed some sort of a paper that he stated "made sure I knew I was driving with metal-on-metal". Totally understand that they can't be liable but this guy was super rude. Most people can't just drop 1k right then and there on the spot. Most people need to figure out their lives and situations before making any big decisions. Since I am a commuter this is a huge decision for me. Luckily enough I don't have to work in the area anymore, so I don't have to visit this location anymore. Next time please know that these situations are really hard for most people to navigate. I wish I had a job that gave me enough finances to be able to just make the decision to fix my car right then and there on the spot. I made the decision to drive 90 minutes back home (safely) and took my car to a local mechanic for $300 less. High pressure sales tactics and a staff without empathy. Do not recommend.Services: Brakes

The front of my muffler fell while driving Thursday morning. Midas said I could bring the car over right away. Part was ordered but wouldn’t be there until after 1:00 on Friday. They would call when it was ready.I received a call at 1:01.Polite and friendly encounters with the team.Great job, Midas!
