This is a fantastic hotel to stay at. Located close to campus, it is quiet and feels very safe. I slept well and appreciated the 12pm check out time. The best part about this hotel, though, is the staff. On my first night here my sister and I dined at the restaurant in the hotel, and our server Tyler made great recommendations on the menu and provided us with great service. Our valet, Steve, was one of my favorite people to meet here- genuine and affable, he really looked after us. In the morning I grabbed a coffee from the bar and met John, who chatted with me about visiting national parks and shared some points of interest in Evanston as I waited to meet up with family.
As a customer, it's easy to post negative reviews when people are frustrated and feel that their concerns won't be heard any other way- I get that. Please put the same energy into lifting up a company when they do well. I hope management here knows they have wonderful staff and contiue to maintain the great level of service I experienced this weekend.

The Hilton @ Orrington in Evanston IL is a clean and accommodating hotel in the downtown Evanston area. The room I had was spacious and had a nice view of the downtown shops with a slight peek of Lake Michigan. The food in the restaurant adjacent to the hotel is pricey and still has a good variety of choices for any kind of eater. Be it foodie or just grabbing a quick meal to take to the room, they have something for the occasion. A most comfortable bed and classical bathroom. I enjoyed my brief stay with them.
Rooms: Nice size and clean
Nearby activities: Walk to shopping, art galleries, Cinema, markets, restaurants and trails to beaches.
Walkability: Good location for walkers
Food & drinks: Diverse menu and opens early.
Noteworthy details: Classic and elegant. Lives up to the Hilton brand.

Upon arriving, I was dismayed by the dirty rooms. Despite checking in at midnight, I struggled to sleep due to the constant noise from the old AC unit. Frustrated, I decided to check out at 5:00 am, only to face an unexpected $75 early checkout fee. Adding to the frustration, the front desk staff showed no empathy for the inconvenience. This experience raises doubts about the hotel's long-term business approach.
In summary, my stay involved dirty rooms, unhelpful service, and a noisy AC unit, all while being charged the full room rate. Interestingly, the hotel supposedly had a "remodeled floor," yet I was placed in an older section without being informed of the option. This begs the question: why not prioritize placing guests on the remodeled floor instead of filling less desirable accommodations first?

I live in Room 705 of this hotel. I am an Asian. I drove the car to the door of the hotel in the morning and waited for my family. The hotel staff rudely asked me to move the car, obviously yelling at me with racial discrimination. My favorite service in the United States is the Hilton Hotel. I didn't expect that this Hilton Hotel brought me sadness. Goodbye Hilton Hotel, I won't patronize you again.

I love the Orrington, however, this was by far my worst Hilton experience ever. Arrived at the property around 10pm (6/24/24) and the front desk ladies wouldn’t honor Hilton’s Best Price Guarantee. Explained I’m a Diamond member and other properties have honored the BPG as recently as March in Dallas at the DoubleTree. However, one of the ladies was smug and dismissive and without even checking the prices said, “we don’t do that.” Ok fine, so they sit there and watch me book outside of the Hilton app and as I’m doing it the other lady says, “you know if you do that you won’t get your points.” I replied I’m a Diamond Member, I’ll just contact Hilton Honors to get my points added. After that she tries to save face by offering waters and inquiring about my Hilton Honors # but by then it was too late.
Walkability: In the heart of downtown Evanston, not far from the Davis L Station, many stores and restaurants.

The Hilton Orrington has valet parking, a bar, and an old English resort feel. It's in a great location in the heart of downtown Evanston. It's in close proximity to Northwestern if you are in town for a game or tour. I love Evanston Illinois, it's a nice getaway for Chicago locals like myself.
4 stars is a stretch in my experience. I have stayed their pretty frequently, and it's vintage but not wow me hospitality. When I think of 4 stars, there is a higher level of touch and customer care that comes to mind.

The location is very close to Northwesten university. Centrally located in downtown Evanston. They have a restaurant downstairs that's reasonable priced. The staff was very polite. The rooms do not have a lot of outlets, so be aware of that.
There is valet parking for $30/day or street parking I'd available also. No street parking from 3am-6am. But there's a lot about a block away that's $16/day, but no in-and-out.
Nearby activities: Dining and movie theater
Walkability: Food, shopping, entertainment are all within 1/2 mile

This hotel is celebrating 100th anniversary. It’s nicely located, near to restaurants, beach, the L and Metra.
Rooms need some upgrade as it’s already 100 year old and perhaps hotel is doing that.
Room service is okay.
Valet parking is available. For long term cheap parking option, Garaged Public Parking is available 1 block down.
There were some ants in room and cleaning staff was forgetting to remove garbage, not placing adequate number of towels and shower gel but staff was helpful.
It’s a good option for those who wants to see the city and needs a decent place to sleep and rest, but not good for those who wants to just enjoy the stay at hotel.
Walkability: Restaurants, beach and public transport is all near and at walkable distance. For Chicago sight seeing, one can park car here and take a Purple train to Chicago. Purple-(To Loop) has limited run and goes to city directly otherwise Purple-(To Howard) is very frequent and from Howard change to Red line.

The worst customer service you would ever expect! Really inconsiderate and rude! Not what I expected from Hilton! Beware!
