Had my a piece of jewelry looked at for insurance purposes. Staff behind the counter offered to clean the jewelry I was wearing for free, very friendly group of staff. Informative and patient. Highly recommended Cottage Jewelry

I will never go any other jeweler ever again. The service, the care, the attention you get at Cottage Jewelry is simply incomparable . Cottage has a beautiful selection for absolutely any occasion. The most wonderful staff, especially Ira and Marie. My fiancé and I had my engagement ring made here and it is the most stunning ring I could have ever imagined. They have taken care of us beyond my expectations. We selected my wedding band yesterday and I am even more thrilled than I was with my engagement ring, which I didn't think possible! Cottage Jewelry can make anything you could possibly imagine and the guidance you receive during the whole process makes you feel warm and special. Every time I walk in the door is truly a special experience. I have a beautiful necklace and earrings I was gifted with from this jeweler also that I cherish everyday I have them. So grateful for the service we have received here and the sweet friendships we have made. They have really treated my fiancé and I like family from start to finish and I can't say enough good things about the jewelry and the people who work here. 100% agree with other reviewers about the poor customer service and haughty vibe. My husband and I visited the store this morning and were completely ignored. While I understand employees may be busy with other customers, even a smile, a "hello" or "we'll be with you in just a minute" would go a long way in making people feel welcomed. It's a small store which made it all the more awkward to be summarily brushed aside. While we were waiting, a man came in to say "hi" to one of the salespeople and she dropped everything (including the customer she was helping) to greet him and chat. Seriously? No bauble is worth feeling less-than. We bought our wedding rings here years ago but will look elsewhere for any future jewelry purchases.

I tried to go to Cottage Jewelry at 2:55 Wednesday. The sign said they were open and there was a customer shopping inside but when I got to the front door it was locked. There was a sign saying to look into the camera next to the door which I did. There were 3 people inside that I could see…1 a customer and 2 employees all of whom must have seen/heard me because I kept trying to open the door and they were no more than 5 feet away looking straight in my direction but not one looked at me, gave me any instructions on what to do to get in or responded in any way. It was bizarre. So I left. After asking around it seems many people have had similar experiences. So I’m not sure whether this place actually wants business or maybe they don’t operate as a jeweler anymore? I’m not sure but definitely won’t be wasting time or paying for parking again to find out.

I would give a 0 of it was possible. The service was terrible. I will never return. I brought my grandmother's ring their to get fixed. They looked at me like I was crazy. Sorry isn't worth that much but it was to me. Go elsewhere

I'm so happy with my experience here. I just picked up my ring today, and it is perfect. I have a ring that was my mom's, which is so special to me, but it needed resized quite a lot. I'm pretty shy, but the person who worked with me was so warm and I felt welcomed. I'm not much of a jewelry wearer, so I was worried that I would feel a little dowdy in a jewelry store, but that was not the case. They are super down to earth here and work with whatever you're asking for. (She also had a great eye for what size ring I would need, just by looking at my hand, haha). I'll definitely come back here in the future.

I found the absolute perfect band to match my grandmother's engagement ring from the 1940s. Our initial experience was great when we bought my wedding band back in August. We bought a second-hand ring and the woman who helped us was very chatty and personable. She asked alot of questions and told us all about her upcoming trip for her niece’s wedding. However, after my husband picked up my band and I needed it resized, our experience totally did a 180.My husband broke his leg shortly after we got married and we had to temporarily relocate to a family member’s place back in Iowa. Which was traumatic enough that we just moved to Chicago and were uprooted right after our wedding. I came back to Chicago two months later to drop off my ring and have it resized. First, they locked the doors 15 min early on a Sunday and I was forced to peer into the windows wondering what was going on. They were really rude answering the door and I stood outside as I explained I just needed to drop off a ring to have it resized. Keep in mind, they’re still open according to business hours on the door and Google. There were four employees inside, a guy was sitting in the office, another gentlemen had to over see my resizing apparently, another woman closing down and the woman who answered the door. The woman who helped me was extremely rude and when I asked about there being no charge, since I had called before my husband broke his leg and they said it was no problem. She said, “well did you even buy this ring here?” The yellow invoice was sitting right in front of her with the name Cottage Jewelry on it. He insisted I don’t go down any smaller than a 6.25 though I thought a 6 would’ve fit snugger. It still spins on my finger and needs to go down again!! I’m also 110lbs and my weight has not fluctuated in years so it’s not me.Every time they’ve told me they would call me when my ring was ready, a week and a few days go by, so I call myself and it’s there. No one ever called me the first, second or third time for pick up. I was told three times that I’d get an appraisal with my ring after it being resized, something I never received at purchase either but was assured by the lady at purchase that it would be done with resizing, and that never came. But the guy sitting in the office said it would be $125 to be appraised.When I went to pick the ring up, the doors were still locked 5 min after 11 and someone was making a sandwich on the display case. I stood outside for another two minutes after she saw me waiting so she could finish her sandwich. I came inside to find two more ladies sitting in an office chatting and eating. All during business hours while I waited outside for them to open the door. When she did finally came to the door and let me inside, the lady said, “so it fits? Because next time there will be a charge.” I told her it fit perfectly to avoid being made felt uncomfortable again, and to take my business elsewhere. It still spins around my finger despite my asking to go down to a size 6. The gentleman prior had said, “oh no, you don’t want to go down that much with it being winter.” They started me at a 7 though I knew I was smaller than that and I kept saying I think I need to go smaller. Not only that but I had to explain when I dropped off the ring, over the phone and at pickup that I was told there wouldn’t be a charge, they were not at all nice about it. The whole experience sucked and I’m not going back there ever again.They don’t listen and are lacking basic customer service skills. As a fine-dining server who’s been serving others most of my adult-life I expected more out of buying my wedding ring. Their inability to smile and open the doors on time is enough to send my business elsewhere. However, I could’ve done without being made felt like a Penny pincher just because we wanted to buy recycled and something simple, don’t offer it then if you’re not going to provide the same service as you would with someone buying a giant rock. Not only that, provide the service you say you’re going to provide. In total, I was told 3x my ring would be appraised during resizing and I never received it.

Wonderful experience, Marie was Fantastic in helping me select diamond studs for my wife. I met Ira the owner great guy. My jeweler had retired several years ago and was looking for a new one. A very close friend recommended Ira, I believe I’ve found the perfect new one. Thank you Marie and Ira.

I had the best experience designing 2 custom rings with the team at Cottage. Everyone there was so helpful & responsive - it truly felt like their entire team was working together to get me exactly what I wanted, and both rings are stunning and were finished much sooner than I had anticipated. They also have a beautiful selection of jewelry at the shop. Highly recommend Cottage for all your jewelry needs!

I could not be more grateful to Marie for all her help with my ring sizing. I brought it in on a Tuesday afternoon and was told 2-3 days until an estimate. I called on Saturday afternoon, after not hearing back yet, and Maria was wonderful! She noted that the goldsmith was done working for the weekend but she decided to come in on a Monday, when they are not even open, to talk with the goldsmith and get the estimate (VERY reasonable), then had it properly sized by the next day! The customer service is top notch and unbeknownst to them, these are my wedding bands I haven't been able to wear for four years due to sizing issues. Great customer service AND the ability to finally wear my rings after four years?! I will happily recommend to anyone who needs a jeweler and even spotted a new ring that I will be back to try on. Thank you!

I have taken 3 rings in for resizing and to have a bracelet repaired. Marie is wonderful and extremely friendly and focused on customer satisfaction. The work was done perfectly and each item was returned to me cleaned and looking like new. I highly recommend.
