Looks like a fun place to stay if you're in the area. The former buggy house that was built in the 1800's is now a place you can stay at too.

There is something very special about this place. Deb has a gift for hosting, and cares a great deal for her guests. Some of the more important chapters in mine and my wife's story have been experienced here. We have been three times and will continue to visit in the future. She leaves us delicious treats in our room when we check in and the conversation and home made breakfasts are fantastic. It truly is an experience!

Had the best Birthdat staying here. The owner is so sweet and very accommodating. The room was wonderful and she made the best homemade breakfast I have had in a long time. I am definitely going back.

It was wonderful. Room was sooooo comfortable. I loved talking with the lady who helps manage the place. The place was quiet. Just what I needed. Took a hot soaking bath in an old tub. Breakfast was a a great meal. Just great. Sausage, smoothie, etc. Don't typically eat much, but this was worth it. Recommend highly.Elsa is an old river town with historic old homes and businesses.Walkability: Walk the town to get feel. We went to Elsa a lot. Wonderful old river town.Noteworthy details: Lot of antiques to look at.

This place is fantastic, it is so easy to find but once there you feel like you're in a completely different time and place. It is incredibly relaxing, we stayed in the Buggy Shop which was cute and cozy. I would recommend a stay in any of the Maple Leaf Cottage Inn rooms, Deb and Tim do a beautiful job of making sure their guests feel right at home.

We stayed in the Wash House. We happened to be the only guests that weekend and were treated like royalty by Debra and Tim the owners and the manager, Jennifer. This bed and breakfast is exactly what you picture in your head when you hear those words. Buildings from the 1800s. Period furniture and quilts. But still with modern amenities like Wi-Fi. The breakfast both days were amazing, and recommendations for things to do and where to eat were spot on. We are planning our next trip and I am considering deleting this review so we can jealously keep this place to ourselves. :)

If you are looking for the perfect getaway in the Midwest, visit Elsah, Illinois and stay at the Maple Leaf Cottage Inn. Deb and Tim are welcoming and hospitable hosts that want to make you feel as comfortable as possible. They are extremely friendly and strive to make your stay pleasant and memorable. The property/ cottages they have are beautiful and very well kept. We stayed in the Wash House and it truly felt cozy. The rooms are clean and the decor takes you back in time. It was fun to walk around the grounds and also the quaint peaceful town of Elsah. There are cute shops within Elsah and it is only a 5 minute drive from Grafton. It's a perfect place to stay if you would like to be right in-between Alton and Grafton. I highly recommend staying here!

Our experience at the Maple Leaf Cottage Inn Bed and Breakfast was like something out of a Hallmark movie. Deborah was warm and welcoming upon our arrival, greeting my group of friends and me with warm brownies and fresh squeezed lemonade in our room. The room was neat and cozy, and we felt right at home. After a fun day in Grafton, we returned to a warm fire pit. Deborah thought of all the small touches such as lighting torches and offering big spray. In the morning, we were served the most delicious breakfast! I honestly can't pick a favorite portion, as it was all fantastic. I would highly recommend the Maple Leaf Cottage Inn, and can't wait until I can make a return trip!

This place is the best. Have stayed at a few places and different states. This has been by far the best. Debbie and Tim go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and at home. Anything you could want is there or you will have. Love it and as always, will be back.

Deborah and Tim are excellent hosts. They both work very hard to make sure that your stay is memorable, and when you stay at their place, you feel like you are on a vacation since they do all of the work. They are also great people to talk to, and we had some great conversations. This was my second time at the Maple Leaf Cottage Inn, and I will be returning many more times. If you have never been to bed and breakfast, this is the place to visit. Not only are the hosts great, but the rooms are excellent as well; very clean and cozy. I'm looking forward to our next stay!
