Joining Big Shoulders CrossFit has been one of the best decisions of my life. I was a little hesitant about joining a CrossFit gym because of preconceived notions (high injury rate, everyone is at a certain fitness level, etc) but I couldn't have been more wrong. The coaches at BSCF really care about your success and take the time to correct form. Members range from all fitness levels, abilities and ages. A lot of effort is put in to creating a sense of community, encouragement and support. Since joining about 2 years ago, I have noticed a big improvement in my strength and confidence. I 11/10 recommend giving BSCF a try. You won't regret it!

I am so happy i made the decsion to become a memeber at Big Shoulders CrossFit (BSCF). I've been looking into a program such as The 28 Day Challenge, as seen on social media. What i realized was that i need to do a program that is in-person with a trained coach. The coaches at BSCF have really helped me focus on my form when doing the exercises. Based on their feedback, i think the exercises have become easier to do, yet they are still challenging. The culture at BSCF it very welcoming!!! i am a new memeber at the gym (1 month) and i was introduced to the memebers at every session. I thought this was great to help break the ice, we all know for some folks its challenging to reach out, the coaches made it easy for me to do that.The memebers were very willing to share their journey and i was impressed with what i heard. What's also great about the culutre is that memeber range in ages from 13 - people in thier 60s. It was great to see all body types, not everyone being "jacked". This made me feel more comfortable. I am amazed at the progress I have achieved, for example, it was challenging to do 10 push up, after 1 month i am able to do 10 push ups no problem. The amount of weight i can lift is also amazing. When i went back to work after 2 weeks off, people noticed the change in my body; before i started i had a small gut, now my gut is slimmer. I feel that I present myself in a better light, i.e. i have more self-confidence and I have better posture. As a smoker, the exercises are challenging especially with the breathing. What i have noticed since starting crossfit, I dont get the nicotine urges as often as before crosssfit and I am not as winded going up stairs. As a result i smoke less, if this keeps us, i can be a non-smoker after 38 years!!! If you want to experiece the same benefits and many more come give BSCF a try, the first session is only $25 and the memebership is totally worth it for what you get.

Best decision of my year to join Big Shoulders CrossFit!!! All the coaches give great feedback and they do a great job of making sure they create a great environment. In my first month of being here all the members have been very welcoming and encouraging! Highly recommended checking it out!

My fiancé and I were in town for a family event and decided to find somewhere to drop in. Good workout, good people, and good environment. We were given a warm welcome and everyone was just so friendly! Definitely will come back next time we’re in the area!! Thanks Big Shoulders CrossFit!

Phenomenal experience. I never considered myself a cross-fit person, but the owners Brendan and Dana made the class so much fun!The space is cool, super convenient location with parking, everything is clean and Brandon's playlist is top notch!

I've been doing CrossFit at various gyms since around 2011 (??) , a couple in the city and a couple in the suburbs, just depending on where I moved. I have also dropped in a ton of places every time I am out of town. I can still say this place and the community here are absolutely top notch.-For those who don't know about CrossFit: This place provides group fitness classes in an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, which are different every day but aren't random- the programming helps you build on your goals over time. Have people in classes at every level of fitness. Certified coaches run every group class. Class structure: coach explains the workout, there are various levels and modifications explained so that everyone has a workout appropriate for their skill and fitness level. Coach warms you up in two parts- first is more general and the second is specific to the movements you will be doing that class. Next the coach teaches you the movements, then helps everyone as they practice. As the coach helps/watches you practice, they help you make sure you chose the right level for your workout and the best modification for you depending on the day/circumstances. Then you all do a workout together, high fives all around, stretching/ cool down at the end. People sometimes bring their babies/kids who hang out on the side in their stroller or playpen, or watch something on their tablet.-For those who already know about CrossFit: Emphasis on good coaching here, throughout the entire class (!) including still actively coaching to the end of the WOD. This is not a place where you walk in, WOD is roughly explained, you sort of warm up on your own, and then 3-2-1 go. Owner is CrossFit Level 3 (only one nearby!) and has Precision Nutrition and weightlifting certs, among others. Two other coaches are Level 2, one with weightlifting cert as well. All other coaches L1 certified.They are very invested in helping you improve over time, and it makes all the difference in how fast you progress. Old school vibe where everyone cheers for the final few. Oh, and of course there's a gym dog, Dallas. :)

This not your average gym. This place is a community of hard working individuals who really care about their clients. The work outs are challenging and fun the coaches are great in keeping you motivated.

anyone thinking about getting in shape, this is the place to go. i am completing my second week of training at this facility and it is awesome. first of all, the owner and trainer is Brendan. awesome coach. Brendan is extremely knowledgeable on training and nutrition. i was nervous my first day. I'm 50 years old, gained some weight through the years. after my first week was completed i was not nervous anymore, i was focusing on my weight and training. more training. positive vibes at the gym all the way around. another awesome thing is every member at this facility is so positive. they encourage you, they cheer you on and they will give you helpful advice. no one judges at this gym. so future members, don't be scared go into this gym and start making a difference in your health. Brendan and his staff are there to help and guide you all the way.

More than a month in and I'm so happy that I signed up with Big Shoulders crossfit. Every coach is very helpful in making sure the WOD is at your appropriate level while still making you work. And EVERYONE is very encouraging.But if you also just want to come in, do the class and then head home that's also welcomed too. Starting from literally minimal to no experience, I'm excited to see where my body strength will grow.
