I asked to exchange the car I just picked up at the airport because I am uncomfortable driving it. They refused to exchange my vehicle. I rented a "mystery" vehicle so any class should have been fine to swap it with, but the guy behind the counter refused to put me in one of his cars claiming all he had were "big" vehicles (I am in a compact electric suv and do not want another electric vehicle), so I asked him to find out if another Avis location nearby had something I could swap. I am an Avis Presidents Club member, so spend a lot with Avis.Meanwhile the woman behind me in line was returning her compact suv, and I asked if I could just take hers and he said no. I sat in the lobby and the called the next Avis location and the rep offered to call me back when she had a vehicle available. Skip this location, the customer service is bad.

Disappointed that Office was supposed to open at 9am. no one arrived to open until 9:30 and then still had to wait while another person rented a car. They finally asked my husband if he was just dropping off and took keys and said he could go before waiting on another woman. So we were there 45 minutes! But the car was great!

I think these are the same con artists that owned the Franklin Park location. They charge you double 3 days after you return your vehicle. They then threaten to call the police if you go to complain in person and don't leave. The scamming employees at the Franklin Park location were Jaimee and Ali. The owner was Mr. Sing. I'm curious if it's the same crew of sociopaths at this location.

I just noticed a suspicious charge on my debit card from this location. I am extremely angry at this point. I no longer trust any of the employees at this location. I will be returning my rental (Uber) and will call the police while I'm at the location. I will be posting an update in the coming days.

Never have I ever experienced anything like this. Beyond unprofessional, literally childish.We RUSHED to get to Avis store at 5:58pm, it closes at 6pm.The sales clerk was on his way out. Locked the door so we couldn’t get in, told us he already logged out and refused to help us. We stood at the doors pleading and he wouldn’t help us. We said you logged out early and he claimed he is “required to turn off his computer at 6pm. If that is the case, why did Avis accept a 6PM reservation pick up??He gave us a fake number to a manager through the glass door and ignored our pleas.We are scrambling to find a car.

Worst customer service ever! The worst supervisor ever has a terrible attitude and acts as if she is unaware and d*** founded of my reservation number. That I clearly showed her from my email! I traveled over 40 minutes to get a vehicle from this location because they assured me a vehicle and when I arrived, they did not! They told me to call other call locations instead of simply checking their system and reserving me a vehicle at another location because they are careless! It’s unfair to have such of a lack of communication with paying customers and vehicle availability! I do not recommend this location to anyone! They will give you the run around when you’ve made your own reservation weeks ago online! Terrible! Just terrible!

JUST LIKE MANY IF I COULD RATE THIS PLACE A NEGATIVE I WOULD WITHOUT A DOUBT. THE HORRIBLE SERVICE I EXPERIENCED WAS PROVIDED TO ME BY AN ASSOCIATE IN THE NAME OF "ALI". HE MUSTVE BEEN HAVING A BAD DAY AND ENDED UP TAKING OUT ON ME. I WAS TRYING TO EXPLAIN TO HIM THAT IN MY BANK ACCT THERES A PENDING TRANSACTION FROM AVIS IN WHICH AVIS IS SAYING THEY DONT SEE IT. I WAS TRYING TO SHOW HIM PROOF BUT HE REFUSED TO LISTEN TO ME AND TOLD ME TO "FILE A LAWSUIT AGAINS AVIS, MOVE TO THE SIDE BECAUSE I HAVE OTHER CUSTOMERS TO TAKE CARE OF". WROTE A NUMBER DOWN IN AN AVIS PANFLIT AND THREW IT TO ME. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO EMBARRASSED ESPECIALLY BECAUSE I AM A CUSTOMERS MYSELF AND LET ALONE HIM DOING THAT INFRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS AS WELL. I DID FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINTS HIM BECAUSE NOBODY SHOULD EVER GET TREATED LIKE THAT. IF HE DOESNT LIKE HIS JOB THEN WHY IS HE THERE!!!

Easily the worst car rental experience we've ever had. Would rate zero stars if possible.It started bad and just got worse. We made the reservation over a month in advance at the Elmhurst office. We even called a week in advance to confirm the rental. Showed up at rental time, and they had no cars. No call, no notice, just no cars. They unapologetically just said too bad, happens all the time, it's a corporate problem out of their hands.Later in the day, they did have a vehicle returned, a smaller vehicle that was completely filthy and beat up. They clearly made no effort to clean it. We rented a 7 passenger vehicle for a long road trip. We needed all 7 seats, so we exchanged the vehicle they provided for one at the airport. The airport staff was night and day better than the Elmhurst location. Returned the vehicle vacuumed, and hand washed. Of course, two weeks after we returned the vehicle, we get a letter claiming erroneous and completely false "smoke smell” at a $450 cleaning charge. None of the people in the vehicle over our rental period smoke, not one. We had the vehicle for 10 days and did not notice any smoke smell ourselves either. We disputed with corporate and they noticed several inconsistencies in the report, so they removed the charge.Bottom line, avoid this dishonest and incompetent Elmhurst location.

Didn’t have the car booked, but conveniently had an electric vehicle. The said if you take it at 100%, and return it with 90%, the charge will be $190. What a ripoff,where are we supposed to charge them in order to give it back at 100%.Ripoff,plain and simple.

Outside of Car was filthy when I picked it up.Inside was OK but I didn't feel like they actually cleaned & sanitized it properly.No windshield washer fluid so I had to wash all the windows myself.
