I don’t recommend this lousy place for anybody with pets they dont care about anything but themselves and making money.. they will tell you whatever they need to say to get as much money out of you. And even then they are unprofessional. I had a horrible experience dealing with this people including their manager. They also have fake cameras that dont work i found that out when i was in the process of taking them to court. Ofcourse they dont have video of their malpractices. Beware dont bring your pets here dishonest and horrible people they should not be any where near animals. All these people do is sit all day and they have a bench in the back where they smoke cigarettes all day long very very unprofessional

My 13 year old dog was experiencing the worst symptoms of late stage heart failure. It’s never easy to come to terms with the end of life for any pet. We came quite early on a Sunday morning because of his inability to breathe well and coughing up significant amounts of blood. The team was so beyond compassionate during the most difficult time for me and my family. They made us and Teddy as comfortable as possible for the last moments of his life. I cannot thank the staff enough for their above and beyond care for us. We even got a sympathy card in the mail. Thank you for being so kind. It means a lot and Teddy thanks you from heaven.

We came in with our dog at 3:00 in the morning after being told they could do an enucleation (eye removal) on our five year old chow mix who was in severe pain with a slipped lens in his eye.
They were not only kind, but ready to start the procedure after the initial exam and paperwork. Clear in what was going to happen and about the cost upfront. We left and they called us at 6:00am to tell us all went well. Communication was good, people were empathetic and kind, and follow up the next day. They emailed the clinical report to me so I could share it with my regular vet at follow up. I would not hesitate using them again.

Elk Grove Veterinary Specialty & Emergency is best and reliable for all our pet issues. Dr. Miller is amazing and very knowledgeable. Technician Mr.Tom and all other staff are very compassionate, caring, and up to date. I was very comfortable leaving my cat for hospitalization. They did their best to regain my cat's health and strength which helped him recover soon. They were very prompt in identiying the cause of illness and recommending line of treatment within our budget making it cost efficient.

I’ve used this facility for emergencies in more than one occasion. Most recently my boy had multiple seizures in a short period of time and had to rush him in. They took excellent care of him. They were very informative and explain all of my options thoroughly. My financial situation is not great right now, and they took the time to try to limit my expenses as much as possible and still make sure my pup was well taken care off

ZERO STARS!! I regret bringing my dog here! This review has taken me a long time to have the courage to write. I had the WORST experience here with my dog awhile back. I agree with the reviews, the only compassionate person is the receptionist. I came in with my elder dog one night and got nothing but condescending and rude attitude from all the ladies in this place. During such a hard time, no one showed any compassion at all. My dog had to stay overnight, which I should've never left her side because from the beginning they just wanted me to put her down. Once I came back the next morning, I heard her barking in the back and they wouldn't let me go see her. Then on top of all of that, one vet tech was SOO SOO cruel! My baby was in an oxygen kennel and this vet left an open rubbing alcohol bottle in there!!! I noticed when I finally went back to check on my dog and the kennel reeked of rubbing alcohol. How is my dog suppose to breathe in there?!?!? We addressed it to the staff and they removed it and said they were using it to clean out her bandages but how irresponsible to leave It in there open! and the tech that left it in their had such bad attitude about it too, no remorse. Almost like she did it on purpose. Arguing with me like they didn't want to help. DO NOT BRING YOU FUR BABIES here.

I can't thank the team at Elk Grove Veterinary Specialty & Emergency enough. I called on a Sunday morning after seeing something alarming with my dog. Roza at the front desk was calm and reassuring the entire time. She said to bring in him in right away and we were checked in and speaking with a nurse immediately. Adrienne, our nurse, explained everything in detail to me. The entire team was very kind, caring, and loving towards my dog, Gordon. Adrienne even brought a bed in so Gordon could be comfortable while we waited for his test results. Dr. Ashley Covington came in to speak with me directly and reviewed Gordon's imaging and explained his plan of care. There was total transparency with pricing the entire time, too. Obviously no pet owner wants to need emergency services for their furry family member but if the need arises I absolutely recommend Elk Grove Veterinary Specialty & Emergency. Staff even followed up with us, and when I was unsure about his symptoms after his visit, they took the time again to check with the vet and provide me options. Happy to report Gordon is on the mend and feeling much better. Thank you!

I had to bring my pup into Elk Grove emergency vet two times as my regular vet was closed. My dog was sick from kennel cough and additionally pneumonia. I was a walk in, and they were able to get us in first thing. Roza at the front desk was friendly and also helpful. When I had to call for updates, the vets were thorough in providing new information and options regarding treatment plans. Thankfully, my pup is starting to feel better and we are forever grateful. Thank you Elk Grove vet!
