Avoid, avoid, avoid. I would give zero stars. Read on for details.
The Department of Defense contracted this company to move my family for a Permanent Change of Station.
The company inflicted significant damage to 28 different items that cost us ~$13,150. Per the contract, they must repair or pay full replacement value for all these items. Instead, they repaired two items, offered us a measly $379.24 for some damages, and denied the rest of the claims. They acknowledged that they breached the contract by offering us an "appearance allowance" of $100 for irreparable damage to four items worth $4,199.83.
This company denied a portion of my claim because it was supposedly submitted past the 180-day submission deadline when it was submitted on day 174. The lead claims adjustor, Deloris Young, was rude in her correspondence, dismissive, and inconsiderate of the time I spent researching the contract, the business rules, or backing up our claims.
Charter Transportation, Inc.'s leadership team promotes the company's mission of improving service members' quality of life. When I contacted their VP, Brad Reineking, to seek redress for Deloris Young's poor customer service, he ignored me. This company is missing the mark.
If you are in the military and preparing for a PCS, I recommend explicitly requesting the Department of Defense to avoid this company when putting the contract out for bids.

This is absolutely not a military friendly company. Not only did I have issues in settling for damage done to my apartment during move in, I had items the movers admitted to breaking denied by claims even thought the movers marked it as destroyed BY THEM upon delivery. Fast forward to the claims process, I have accepted their offer for the items broken and still have not received payment over 90 days later. I have been told "we can't control USPS", "there is an issue with our system", and "it’s stamped as paid, we don't know what the issue is". I don't know why the military chooses to contract with this company, but I am working with the local transportation office to have them lose their contract for poor customer service and breach of contract (refusing to put my furniture together which I am entitled to as a military mover). I pray you don’t engage with Deloris Young who is dumber than a rock and gets confused by her own emails. I still have not received payment and now they will not return calls or emails. Fraudulent company

This mover was incredible overall. The courtesy and respect were top notch. They were well at communicating with me. Very careful with my belongings.

I’m only giving them two stars because Kristen has been helpful from start to finish. The ONE mover was a decent guy. But when we got to our destination we noticed a lot of broken items and missing items. I don’t mind the missing items. They were nothing sentimental or super expensive and obviously someone else needed it more than me. But the 70 inch tv we have had a piece of cardboard on the screen and shrink wrap around it. It was bound to break. I even asked the driver if that was safe and he said “oh yeah it’ll be fine”. We finally finished unpacking and organizing and are finding more things broken. Which is fine I guess but here comes the best part. The first claim I filed (there will be one more) was more than a month ago for over $800 worth of damages and I keep getting told the system is down, it’s been hacked, we’ll mail you a check. Please charter TSP, fix your claims department. The military should probably not use you all anymore because service members stuff gets broken and you don’t give a damn to fix it in a timely manner.

Movers were friendly and honored my request of an early ship date from GAtoFL. Upon arrival to new location that's when things began to unravel, some items were lost and I wasn't too worried because I was bringing my most important items with me.They broke my TV and told me I should be able to file a claim. It's been weeks and I'm not getting any feedback. Kristen is the only person that has been at least replying back to me but she can't help reimburse me.

Worst Military move so far!!! Charter lied to me, refused to unpack, broke items, damaged my floors and has been completely rude and unprofessional! Stay away!!!

Charter Transportation was grate they were timely and my move was pleasant. They really took care of my items and I was pleased to see that there was minimal damages. They were efficient, professional, and an amazing team. I cannot recommend them enough.

Beware! This is company does not assist military members and should not be used by anyone. They are very unprofessional. They contacted me upon notice the military awarded them the contract. However, when issues arose, they would not return my calls or messages. Melinda was supposed to be my coordinator and she would never call me back. It's funny because the office tenant would always answer and say she's either busy or take a message. She even attempted to assist me because of Melinda ghosting me.The major issue with Charter besides being ghosted was they subcontracted my move out to Action Mobility. That company is unethical and lies. Their truck broke down in front of my house and left transmission fluid all over the place and there are multiple items broken. In addition, they (Charter and Action Mobility) promised me a delivery timeframe of my stuff. It was delivered 1 week late.I would never use either company ever again. This was my 14th move cross country and the only one with issues. There are too many good moving companies out there to use these.

The incompetence of this organization is laughable. They are not willing to accept any responsibility for mistakes made on their part. If you are a service member and have to deal with this company, I'm sorry and I wish you the best of luck.

Charter Transportation was amazing with my move. They really took care of my items and I was pleased to see that there was minimal damages. They were efficient, professional, and an amazing team. I cannot recommend them enough.

They showed up on time and worked non-stop. I was so impressed and would definitely use them again. All of the workers were friendly and professional.
