Our experiences at this shop have been very poor. The manager, Fernando, is of very little to no help. We scheduled two replacements and both times the incorrect windshields were ordered. This is both inconvenient and aggravating since time off of work has to be taken in order to have these cars dropped off and repaired. Since this has happened both times we’ve scheduled at this shop, I can only imagine how many times it’s happened to other customers.

Made the appointment online. Was greeted by a wonderful receptionist. Friendly staff.... My windshield was repaired in 20 minutes. Great job. I will always come back here....Thanks Safelite

The appointment slots were pretty open when I needed to replace my windshield. I dropped my car off before 9:30 and got the call 3 hours to later to pick up my car. After I drove away, I noticed a rattling noise above the windshield. I spoke to a customer service rep and was told to bring in my car the next day. They located the source of the noise, and I was on my away again. I am very happy with the service provided by this location.

Yet another horrible experience from Safelite in Elgin. We are a national account who does a huge amount of business with Safelite. Had an appointment scheduled to have a couple stone chips repaired in two of our vehicles. Luis the tech arrived and right off the bat tries to upsell a new windshield versus repair of the existing one. HE HAD NOT EVEN LOOKED AT THE WINDSHIELDS IN QUESTION BEFORE MAKING THAT ASSESSMENT! I know better and told him that I just wanted the stone chips repaired. He then claimed he needed to get his supervisor on the phone, all while he was sitting out in his truck eating his Dunkin Donuts. At that point, I had enough and told him I would have to call corporate to discuss why we couldn't get the services we ordered. He then drove off, which was probably the best part of the whole experience. Calling corporate, we got rescheduled with the Lake in the Hills location which has always sent out absolutely stellar 5-star technicians to do our windshields. Nothing wrong with Safelite, but if you need service, STAY AWAY from the Elgin location at all costs. Nothing but trouble and not worth your time or the associated hassles.

Im warning everyone right now who has a Tesla: DO NOT take your Tesla here to have the glass replaced!My 1st scheduled time they stated that they found that my window sensor was unplugged. Ok, so I took it to Tesla to have them plug it back in, no problem. Then I schedule another time to come back to safelite (Friday at noon) and as soon as I get in the door the tech tells me “we are on lunch it’ll be awhile” and asked me if I got the sensor plugged in. I told them the Tesla repair tech just laughed and thought it was ridiculous since they had to take the window off anyway. They then give me this story that they cannot get my car in today because they don’t want to put a window on it because of the sensor (that I told them there was no issue with it) because they need to ask my insurance (who specifically told me to go here before all of this started and said I would have no problem getting a OEM window installed) if they can order a Tesla windshield. Mind you there are no other cars waiting to have their windows installed at this time. They clearly just didn’t want anything to do with my car in addition to it being a Friday. What a horrible business. I can foresee this place closing in a year or two with the management they have here.Tesla owners, we can do way better than this. This is the most unprofessional, unorganized place I’ve ever had to deal with. I’ll gladly pay $1,400 out of pocket for my window through Tesla just so I don’t have to deal with this place again. What a waste of time!

Luis was amazing! Communicated constantly and effectively, was incredibly kind, and went the extra mile to make sure that myself and my car got the best treatment possible. Can’t recommend him enough, and if the other techs at this location are anything like him then you’d be hard pressed to find a better crew to take care of your vehicle.

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION OR SAFELITE IN GENERAL!!wish I could give them a ZERO! I was told they could not replace my windshield at my home and would have to bring it in. I had to wait 3 weeks for an appointment, drop of my car them they told me their tablet wasn't working with my car so they couldn't do the replacement. On top of that, the person who I dealt with in the store and then the person I dealt with on the phone were both unbelievably rude.

Edit to add: Got a hold my insurance who was able to get me on the phone with a warranty scheduler. She thought (from looking at my file) that the windshield had already been replaced again but set up an appt to have someone come out and replace it a few days later. The installer just called (same as the last warranty call) to tell me he planned to fix the molding and didn't have a windshield and that it wasn't going to get replaced. I asked for a manager and we will see if I have to go back through my insurance just to get this resolved.Original Review: Got our windshield replaced and within months the molding was loose and there was air noise. When looking at it, we saw that the windshield had defects with dips in the surface. We used the warranty and called and they sent someone out who told us they would glue it in because removing the defective windshield would do more damage than just gluing stuff down. They also said if there was a further issue to just use the lifetime warranty. Months later and the wind noise is still there and there is a rattle and I can't just ignore it anymore. I've tried to get a hold of them again and can not get anyone on the phone (it literally hangs up on me) When I emailed (as requested for warranty requests) I was told that the warranty doesn't cover anything once it's been repaired and we need to start with a a whole new glass claim?? I'm sorry, what??

I Made an appointment to have my Mustang's front windshield replaced through Safelite. They are an Allstate preferred provider. I got a ride and dropped off my vehicle. An hour later I was told that they couldn't get my windshield and to pick-up my vehicle. Safelite said there was an "error" in their system. No help on finding another vendor or shop. Wasted several hours of my day. Very unprofessional and did not care about my future business! If they couldn't get the correct windshield, they should help find a vendor who could! AllState is too expensive of an insurance company to be using sub standard vendors. I'm looking elsewhere for my home and auto insurance!

Appointment was made easily. Insurance handled easily. Receptionist was professional, efficient and friendly. Our windshield was replaced in the time estimate we were informed of. The technician completed the repair and was courteous and friendly getting us our info and back on the road. A smooth operation.

Terrible Quality controls. Day 2, the front gasket is coming off. Day 4, the box that holds the back mirror coming off. Followed their guidelines yet the quality of their product and service is just terrible.
