Hopefully not all cars are lemons like mine Ford Motor Company Ford Motor Company knows what I am talking about.... Hopkins Ford of Elgin Ford of Elgin lies about fixing cars under warranty.... All explorers have issues.... ?? Really 3 times in the shop after full transmission replacement and still having issues??? Now the customer service satisfaction of Ford asked if I want to get the engineering department involved?? Really ?? Or easily said I can trade in my car and take the hit of $10k on upside down..... ridiculous 15k miles on the car and they washed their hands

Wow, guess I should have read the reviews BEFORE I went to Hopkins Ford in Egin. I could have saved some time. They are really not very customer friendly. Bottom line, the manager basically told me he wouldn't talk about selling a car until I gave him my license. (I Guess you should expect to get carded when you walk into certain dealerships). Anyway, I explained that I was interested in a certain car and that I did not want to receive a lifetime of marketing calls. I explained further that I had recently given my personal information to a salesman at another dealership, and they called me twice a day for weeks and I didn't want a repeat of what amounts to harassment. Finally, I told the manager that I WOULD be willing to exchange information at the appropriate time (NOT at Hello). The Manager was rude and basically told me to come back when I am ready to give him license for him to copy.Seems to me they are missing the point, which is to sell cars and not collect people's personal information. There are lots of car dealerships out there, and you can be sure I am going to be making my next purchase from one of them... and not Hopkins Ford in Elgin. Read the reviews Mr. Hopkins.... Don't you think it is about time you take notice? Really!

Stay away! Good luck trying to buy a car here from Tim... he will just waste your time while you are ready to buy and then promise ten things and deliver none. Dealership is clearly not in the business of supporting its customers and just full of liars specfically Tim B

It all started on a Wednesday morning. I called Hopkins Ford to make an appointment for my truck. No one answered so the recording said leave a message with name and phone number, so I did. All day Wednesday no one called me back. Thursday by noon no one called me back, so I called them and got a real person, made an appointment to have my truck towed to Hopkins Ford. So now I'm feeling pretty good about it, right? My truck is there, and they will look at it call me give me a price quote and so on. Not so fast. They say on their recording that they will get back to you within 24 to 48 hours . Okay, so I'm waiting around on Friday no call okay it's only been 24 hours so on Monday I'm expecting a call, nope. Okay, so maybe they are a little busy no sweat. Here it is Tuesday, they have to call today for sure, nope. Wednesday morning, I call them and speak to my service representative. He tells me that he will get back to me right after and, like the fool I am, I believed him. Wednesday comes to an end and no contact, so I'm thinking first thing tomorrow (Thursday) he's going to call with the quote. Nope. So, get this, I'm going to call and talk to my representative and get my quote. I call and I get the recording again. I know what you're thinking, he's not foolish enough to leave another message, well, surprise, I am. Guess what? Same result! He didn't return my call. By now you're probably wondering doesn't he need his truck? Well, I really only drive it for doctor's appointments and to pick up my prescriptions. Okay, back to my adventure with Hopkin Ford. Friday, for the people who may have lost count in 8 days since my truck has been at Hopkins Ford, I go on the web site and locate the contact us tab. I write attention general manager and leave a note detailing my experience. I don't know what I was expecting but, hang on, this part is good. My phone rings, it says Hopkins Ford - oh boy, that did it, finally some action. Nope. It turns out to by leaving a comment on the contact us tab leave give your name and number to the sales department, so instead of the general manager calling me back to address my issue, I get a salesperson trying to sell me a new car. Folks you can't make this stuff up. It would make a great sitcom, but nobody would find it believable. Okay, back to the show. I tell the salesperson that I'm not interested in buying anything and I just want my truck fixed. The salesperson turns out to be very helpful and writes a "ticket" to pass along to his boss. Saturday my phone rings, it's the service representative calls and tells me for sure it's the transmission...imagine my surprise to hear that since that's not why I brought my truck in. Of course, he called the wrong person! Later that morning, Hopkins Ford calls and it is the Service Manager, hurray...not so fast, he tells me that he needs to have one of his Master Mechanics look at my truck. Now, my truck has been there for 9 and a half days, and then proceeds to tell me it's going to be thousands of dollars to repair. Question...if the Master didn't look at it, how does he know the cost? Hopkins Ford "we use ESP in all our quotes" It's Monday noon and I still haven't heard from Hopkins Ford. On April 21st, the service rep called me to see if State Farm sent the check. I gave him all the information regarding the payment, and he hangs up. Six days later on April 27th, I call my service rep and I say what's up with my truck. He says it is ready. I ask him why he didn't call me. He says nothing. So, I go to pick up my truck on April 28th and notice that my truck was ready on the 21st and my rep never told me. So, he goes to get my truck and it won't start. He sends a person with a jump starter to jump start my truck. It won't start because the jump starter is dead. So, now he has to get another jump starter. Finally, my truck is pulled up to the front and it is as dirty as can be! What ever happen to

The warranty they up selling you is a total scam, they will talk s*** to you like how everything in the engine are covered when you buying the car, and when you comes to your car breaking down on road, they won't give a s*** about you and everything wrong with your engine isn't covered and you will have to pay out of packet.

They lie to their customers to get them through the door. Once you are there, they will bait and switch on you with the pricing. Happened to me on Saturday 4/1/2023. I called about a Bronco, they told me the price over the phone and even referenced the website. That was the price. After test driving it and seeing the features, we agreed to purchase. As we were filling out the Ford Credit application, they pull out THE REAL PRICE, which was 11k over the asking price. After arguing and being on site for 2 hours, we decided not to buy from them. As we felt we were being deceived. No sale unless you agreed to pay the extra mark up. It would be better if you told me the actual price before I wasted my time coming to your dealership. I would avoid doing business here.

WORST dealership ever. in 2013 I bought a Ford Fiesta brand new off the lot. Within a month or two of ownership, the car started dying while driving, and there were a lot of days it wouldn't even start. This turned into a marathon of misery while Ford wouldn't own up to whatever the problem was, and while there were literally thousands of other customers having the same issues, they just kept telling me they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Finally about 5 years ago or so Ford finally said they knew there was a problem and had me bring it in to fix. It turned out there was a problem with their stupid dual transmission and it appeared that they finally fixed it. It worked pretty good for several more years and then about a year ago it started dying while driving again. We finally took it back in again and they gave us a loaner car while they worked on the Fiesta. Weeks went by and finally they said it was fixed and we went and picked it up. It literally died on the way to the tollway from the dealership. Called them again and took it back in. Got another loaner. Another month or more went by and they wanted to swap out the loaner, so we did. Another month went by and they wanted to swap out the loaner again. After FOUR months with the car and four loaners, they said they finally found what the issue is, but they want $2100 to fix it!!!!!! It's a FORD CAUSED ISSUE, and yet they STILL want to charge us $2100 to fix it. This is complete crap. Ford built a car that clearly had issues they did not know how to fix. The dealership even said they had been working with Ford engineering to see if they could diagnose the issue. They admitted it was a FORD CAUSED ISSUE yet they want to charge us an insane amount of money to fix it. We're getting the Fiesta back today, not fixed because we're not paying them to fix an issue that Ford built into the car. The managers in the service department at Hopkins were not friendly, not helpful and are in general awful. They did work on the Fiesta that did NOT fix it and said they would only accept cash of $700 for us to be able to pick up the car. I can't say enough awful things about Ford and Hopkins dealership. This is the WORST experience we have ever had with a car. No more Fords, ever. They couldn't GIVE me a Ford. I wouldn't take it.

Purchased 2 cars from Hopkins Elgin from 2016-2022 and the service was absolutely excellent until 2022. My understanding is there's new management. Recognized only 1 employee rest new. Took car in to replace running board cap and their new mechanic pried off with screw driver causing huge hole damaging entire chrome running board ended up costing me over $2,000 to repair as employee denied and owner never returned my calls. Had to turn in an insurance claim. Now inconvenienced to drive to West Chicago Ford for maintenance.
