I needed to move a one-bedroom apartment worth of belongings from Baton Rouge, LA to Rockford, IL. I wasn't able to utilize PODS moving down there because of the requirements necessary to drop off a container, so I went with a moving & relocation company. This turned out to be a huge mistake and added so much stress and headache to the entire process. For a slightly cheaper price overall, PODS was outstanding every step of the way: complicated drop off instructions (on my part) NO problem, timely pick-up, accurate and punctual drop off at the delivery location in Rockford (delivery driver Rex was really good), and final pick-up of the empty container was so stress free and well-communicated over the entire process. I will go out of my way to utilize PODS for any moving/hauling needs in the future. When I know what poor service looks like, I can truly appreciate such a stellar company when I see it.

While my initial experience w/ the PODS call center rep, & the Grand Rapids Michigan workers was fantastic. My drop off/pick up to empty experience was absolutely awful. When I called to have my PODS delivered to my new home, I was informed that this request was not possible to fulfill. Why? Because my new home was 70 miles away from the Elgin Illinois warehouse and they simply did not have enough staff to do it. I did get a call back from a call center rep. stating that they were trying everything they could to get an approval for another driver from another warehouse to bring my pods over & that he would return a call when he got word. Surprise, I did not receive a call back.Soooo, then came the backup plan. This plan included hiring a moving company to meet me at the warehouse in Elgin to empty my pods, load my belongings into their moving truck before being delivered to my new home. I made the appointment & received a confirmation contract. The unfortunate surprise came when I logged into my account the day off the intended unloading, only to find out that my date had been changed without my knowledge. WHAT? I of course called customer service to find out what happened hoping that it was just a simple mistake. Nope! Instead, I was told that a phone call was made by the warehouse to inform me of the change. I, however, received no such call or an updated contract for the change. Interesting! So now at the last minute, I had to cancel my moving truck and movers, all because someone changed my appointment and avoided telling me, so that they could have the day off. Wonderful! And now, of course, the day that they rescheduled me for did not work with my schedule. When I went to make the changes, the website did not give me the option for an appointment for the next two days due to needing time to relocate the pods (as I was informed) as well as it would not let me cancel on such short notice. Hm! There was also no number listed on the website for the Elgin warehouse, which meant that I couldn't call them directly to let them know that I would not be able to make their rescheduled date. The next day, I received a voicemail wondering where I was. Thankfully my caller ID picked up the number. Unfortunately, when I called back, not only did no one answer, but their voicemail was set up to leave a message. Great! Fast forward two weeks to the weekend before my scheduled pickup/empty date. I called the warehouse to confirm their hours, only to be scolded for not showing up, much less contacting them for missing my last appointment. HA! I didn't bother arguing as I was so frustrated & wanted nothing more than to get my belongings out of their warehouse & for all of this to just be over. Good grief! Unloading day came & I arrived on time, only to find the office doors locked. Sweet! A gentleman did come out a few minutes later, but, he informed me that my pods where located around the corner & were are already being unloaded. This of course was not possible as I had the only key in my possession. After telling him this, I was then told that I was wrong. WOW. Sooo, I walked over just to confirm & find out that he sent me to someone else's pods that were already being unloaded by another moving company. Fantastic! So, I walked back over to the office to kindly let them know that those were in fact not my PODS. And what do you think was the gentleman's response? He chose to scold me for showing up without making an appointment. Hmmm! I quickly pulled up my account on the website that indeed listed & confirmed my appointment. He then called for the hi-low driver to bring them out without even apologizing for scolding me for his own fault of not looking at the days scheduled needs. The hi-low driver was at least nice.At this point, I cannot in good conscience recommend the Elgin Illinois PODS facility, much less this company as a whole to anyone for their general lack of communication, disrespect, and overall lack of care for its customers.

The initial order on the phone was great, and everything was where it was supposed to be on the agreed upon dates. I was also able to change dates with no extra fees.Having the Pod for several days on both ends of move makes the packing experience so much better than having one day to load everything.

There were no issues with the drop off move or final pick up. Online navigation was simple and made it very convenient.

Service was very easy to use - I would have preferred an online quote, but getting a quote over the phone was simple and quick. Moving with a little one can be stressful, but PODS took a ton of the stress out of the experience, giving us the time to load and unload when it worked best for us.

We moved from Central Florida to Northern Illinois. From start to finish our experience with PODS was excellent. Calling the corporate 800 number for details and a quote was easy. Start to finish they executed exactly as was described to me on the initial call. They email the day before a three hour window for each step-drop off, pickup and delivery. The day of you receive a call when they are about an hour out. Because we were not physically present for initial drop off and pickup in FL, I each driver followed up with a call or text confirming their step went well and had been completed. Thank you to the Sanford FL office for their work on the front end. When our POD arrived at our new home in IL the driver, Ron, from the Elgin IL office was amazing. He offered his advice for placement of the container for unloading. We have a tri-level and I just assumed everything would come in through the garage. He asked if we had large furniture that might not make the turns in the stairs coming in from the garage and may need to come in through the front door. His suggested placement will keep us from having to walk all the way around the POD with the furniture that needs brought in through the front door. Our backs thank you, Ron! PODS is lucky to have Ron representing the Elgin, IL office…..very pleasant and a true professional. We will 100% recommend PODS to anyone in need of storage or moving needs.

If you need storage in a hurry, this is the company to call. They delivered within 2 days and when we were done they picked it up in 2 days. Very easy to book, use and manage. The container was clean and it was easy to store our furniture while our floors were being refinished. Super helpful service!

Just had A delivery of a POD from PODS MOVING & Storage and Ron did an excellent job with the placement with a slanted driveway and some obstacles. Ron was friendly and explained everything that he could do which I very much appreciated!! I would definitely recommend PODS!!

I needed to rent a storage POD for a restoration customer. Scheduling was convenient. Upon initial delivery they were not able to place the POD due to a tree. We removed the tree branches in the way and quickly rescheduled. Two days later they were able to place the POD. The entire correspondence was easy and professional. I will be using PODS again for business purposes as well as personal if the occasion arises.

A POD container is a great option when you are in-between homes. Customer Service is great and you can actually speak to someone. They can definitely help you out for a move, a remodel or just want to store stuff but have it all picked up.

I stored my items in 3 large containers for 10 months. Granted I didn't know it would be that long for our new home to be done. Had I known that I would of sold everything and started over for the amount I paid I could of had all new furniture. Service was good otherwise. Convenient and easy. My mattress smells like mildew may have had some dampness in the pod while being stored.

We moved from Chicago to Dallas, and used two PODS... one to storage and one to an apartment while our house was being built. It was nice to be able to store half our things for as long as we needed until the house was built so we didn't have to move them all twice. We had a great experience with PODS and would use them again.

This review is for our Awesome PODS Driver Saferino (aka, Good Guy!). Saferino was our driver that dropped off our container. He was fast, knowledgeable and very professional. Our PODS delivery was rescheduled to be the very first delivery that day due to an incoming snow storm amd Saf was there promptly and dropped off our container after we spoke to a “Christopher” from the call center on the phone and he told us he didnt know whether our container would make it that day. That we should “keep our fingers crossed” but not providing us with any type of reasurrance as we were on a tight schedule. Our container was supposed to be picked up 2 days later by Mike (aka, Bad Guy!). Mike came by our place, refused to pick up our container due to a supposed vehicle “blocking” his ability to pick up our container and never notified us of this. We recieved an email telling us of the cancellation of our scheduled pick up with a note that said an attempt to call is was made which was not true. We called the PODS center and spoke to a representative that told us we would have to make “special arrangements” to have it re-picked up at a later date/time. Thankfully, Saf (aka, Good Guy!) took it upon himself to not only, go out of his scheduled route costing him hours of work but to come all the way out to us to personally pick up our container which he had no issues doing even though the supposed vehicle impeding the pick up was still there. Saf was once again our hero coming to help us out. This means a lot as we are a military family on a tight schedule and needed to be across the country in a limited timeline. Had it not been for Saf, we wouldn’t have been able to make this move happen!

They refused to deliver my furniture from Chicago to SW MIchigan and told me to come and get it. I fought with them for months and they said they would send it. According to their website it should have costed me Approx. $750 they charged me almost $1800 and now no one will talk to me. I’ve been trying for months, even their customer service specialist Harry Ford won’t call me back.
