Coalition for a Safe & Healthy Elgin

Hours: CSHE exists to promote a safe and health community for Elgin, IL's youth, free of substance misuse through education, prevention and action. There are hundreds of these coalitions across the nation and we’re the only federally funded one in Elgin. We’re made up of community volunteers from 12 sectors reducing underage drinking and substance use by minors using an evidence-based model of prevention involving the entire community. Data across the nation demonstrates these Coalitions work in reducing use because they are based on local data. Our two major drugs of focus for Elgin are alcohol and marijuana.
