Brilliance Subaru has been a great buying experience from start to finish. Phil our sales associate and sales manager where courteous and respectful in the whole process. We actually are returning customers after having a great 3 year experience with our very first Subaru. The service department is really nice and so is the coffee machine they have while you wait for service.

A huge THANK YOU to Derek and the Service Staff at Brilliance Subaru. 6 hours into our 22 hour drive, when the cruise control shut off and all the dashboard lights came on. Googled “Subaru Dealers Near Me”, and as luck would have it, Brilliance was 8 minutes away! Drove right into the service area and explained our predicament. Out-of-towners 6 hours from home and 7 hours from our hotel. Derek got us in right away, and got the computer on it. Turns out it was a part that was covered under a Subaru issued extended warranty that we weren’t aware of. Derek offered us a loaner (but again, from out of town, wouldn’t have known where to go) so we declined, but thoughtful nonetheless. Drove off the lot 3 hours later with vehicle repaired at no charge to us. Office called the next day to follow up with us to make sure our service went okay. All of this superb customer service for folks who won’t be repeat customers, because we don’t live in the area. Why can’t all service departments at dealerships be like Brilliance?? Honesty and integrity is clearly their motto. We will be forever grateful to Derek and the Service Staff at Brilliance for being there for us in our time of need and getting us back on the road so quickly. Subaru drivers in the Elgin area - take note - you have got one awesome service department near you!!

Best car buying experience! I’ve been driving a Subaru for almost 25 years, so I knew I wanted another one when it was time. Brilliance Subaru in Elgin is, well, brilliant! Phil, our salesman was so helpful, answered all our questions, and made our test driving experience (3 different cars) smooth and easy. I was pleasantly surprised that they had exactly what I was looking for on the lot! Jeremy in the financing office made all the paperwork smooth and easy to understand at every step, also answering all of our questions. I came back the next day for a couple of add-on accessories and the service department was ready (and I didn’t even have an appointment) to install. Nicest people, from the parts department to cashier! Lovely and comfortable waiting area, too. I’m so happy with my new Outback and my new favorite dealership. I know I’m in great hands with another terrific Subaru.

I am amending my original review 12 days after I posted the below. The service team at Brilliance Subaru was committed to fixing my air conditioning. They provided me with a loaner and tried several things over a 10 day period with delays due to parts being out of stock. I appreciate that they worked with me on costs and I feel what I ended up paying was fair. I’d also like to thank Mr. DaLuga, GM, for reaching out and following up. The best news is my car is fixed and I wouldn’t hesitate to return for service in the future.
I am not impressed with the diagnostic capability or quality control of this Subaru dealership. I’ve spent 12 hours either at or driving to and from the dealer and over $2,800 over several days this week and on 3 occasions I was sent home told the ac was fixed and it wasn’t . I brought my 2017 Forrester in on 8/5 because the AC was not consistently running cold, after waiting 3 hours, paid over 800 for new valves and O rings and was shown pictures of Freon leaks. Driving home the ac was still not putting out cold, I called and was told to come in the next day. On 8/6 was given a loaner and told the problem was the compressor (even though it and all aspects of the cooling system passed the multipoint inspection). I paid $2000 for a new compressor and still the ac was not consistently running cold. I brought it in again on 8/9 and waited 2 1/2 hours to be told they added ann ounce of Freon and it was working. Drove away and turned around and went back because it was not working properly. They then looked under the hood and said maybe it’s the relay that is supposed to turn on the compressor, but they didn’t have the part and I’d have to come back. I was given a loaner and have to return again today hoping it is fixed. My concerns are, how do I know I needed a 2000 compressor if this relay was broken. I asked this and was told the compressor was seizing up but I have no proof and have now lost trust in their word and their work. I cannot believe there are no diagnostic tools to test and pinpoint what the problem is versus trial and error and replacing the biggest cost item and hoping that solves the problem.

Always a pleasant experience. I never feel pressured or unsure about services. What is needed - or not needed - is always explained to my satisfaction. Waiting area is comfortable and convenient.

This dealership is the best out there! Not only do they sell amazingly reliable cars, they all have such a nice attitude and are willing to help you out! I came in yesterday after a terrible experience with my ford at the ford service station (won’t say which dealership). Rome was my sales guy and he was so professional and willing to listen to me. We settled on an awesome deal for my trade in and he helped me find my car that i wanted at another dealership close by! They delivered the car same day and i can back about 5 hours later to close the deal. Rome was awesome and made sure i was taken care of. The other guys at the dealership were personable and helpful as well! Jeremy in finance broke everything down to a digestible level and everything was very transparent. I will only trust brilliance from now on with my car needs! Thank you Rome and Jeremy! You guys are amazing!
