Before visiting this store today, I was actually a customer of Advance Auto Parts' main competitor. I happened to visit this store today by chance, and was helped by David, the Store Manager of Advance Auto Parts - Hanover Park, who was helping at this branch today.David was genuinely kind and generous with his time, and helped me install the part I purchased. Even though it took some time and effort, he insisted he wanted the job to be done right. He was extremely skilled and competent. If all the team members of Advance Auto Parts are like David, you just got yourself a customer for life.

I’ve only been to this store twice to pick up packages. First time no problem, the young gentleman that helped me on Wed 6/21 around 3:30ish was super nice and polite and patient, I wish I would’ve known his name) I give him 5+ stars. Second time 6/22 around 2:30, you would’ve thought I asked Ray for his kidney, super lazy, ignorant & disrespectful. My son & I walk in, another employee is talking with a customer I’m standing waiting, my son points out that Ray is just sitting at one of the registers (mind you he doesn’t say anything), I walk over to him and say, “Hi, I’m here to pick up my package.” I hand him my package delivery slip and my ID, still no word from him but huffs under his breath and walks away. The other customer says, “Hey Ray not in a good mood today?” Ray turns the corner without saying anything & carrying my package (blender). The customer says, “I see you’re making smoothies.” Ray still doesn’t say anything. I tell my son, “be ready so you can carry that from him.” Ray Carrie’s this over the counter, looks like he’s trying to give it to my son, so my son goes to grab it, Ray & my son play tug a war for like 3seconds, then Ray say, “I have to do something first.” My son looks confused because this grown man has had non verbal attitude from the moment we walked to his register, plays tug a war and then speak with attitude. I then say to Ray, “well say that to him, speak, you’ve had attitude since the moment we walked in and even the other customer called you out on it (customer chime in and says, “yeah I did.”) where’s you’re customer service?” Ray gets all bent out of shape, says, “ that customer knows me, you don’t.” I said, “obviously, even worse because I’m a customer and you’ve been nothing with attitude non-verbal & verbal, I need to hurry up and get out of here, please hurry up so we can leave. It’s not even busy and you have all this attitude and I can’t imagine if it was busy how you’d be then.” Have a great day! I told my son, “ that’s a perfect example of BAD customer service.” The other employee stays out of it and doesn’t say anything. Sorry Ray, I walked in & you had to do some work, but I’m not because that’s your job & I hope you don’t treat anyone else that way. I’d give you -5 stars if I could. There’s always time for change. Treat others the way you’d want to be treated.

This place was recommended to buy my car parts. I also purchased wiper blades the man did not know how to put them on that worked there. I went back two days later to ask a different associate to put them on. He was the only one in the store and I assumed too busy so he totally got an attitude grab the blades and put them on for me but was angry and rude. I will never be back or recommend this place to anyone. Terrible customer service.

Hands down the best customer service, people like Jim don’t exist anymore, I was working a job across the street and my starter got stuck on and would not stop cranking, I drove my car and parked it in the parking lot to change the starter out myself, Advanced Auto didn’t have my starter in stock but I was getting it dropped off from another location, Jim helped me find every tool I needed, he then continued to call every mechanic he knew to make sure it was a starter problem, he also called every Kia dealer in the area to ask them questions about my issue, he tried to get me in to the repair shop next door but they were busy the entire weekend, he came outside periodically to make sure I didn’t need anything else and offered to help me, he also stopped me from doing my repairs because every person he talked to said it was an electrical issue not my starter, so I put my car back together returned the starter and had it towed to a mechanic, I needed a one time use funnel to replace some coolant from removing a hose and Jim rolled up some computer paper and made me a funnel. 5 stars for this location Jim and the rest of the staff, he even held on to my key and waited for the tow truck so I could go home. They went above and beyond for me!

I would like to thank Kevin who helped me to replace my battery, battery replacement person is not available on the day I visited the store. But, Kevin helped me with the replacement. He went an extra mile to help me. Thank you for all the support. Would recommend to a friend.

Terrible store, needed a part called to confirm they carried it. Confirmed pulled it aside I get there and they try to sell me a completely different unit after confirming they had it. Incompetence all around, will not return.

Came in with a car battery that i had purchased from another store because the other store said "they could not replace it due to low staff" and they replaced it for me DESPITE the freezing temps outside. Would give 10 stars if i could, my car was literally dead in the parking lot and they insisted on replacing it for me, good guys. Huge thanks to Gordan because he is the one who replaced the battery for me! These guys had no reason to help me and they did, i think that says A LOT about their characters and personalities! I cant speak highly enough about this location and the staff. Keep it up

Unhelpful service, I was attended by “Ray” and he didn’t want to serve nor assist me when I had asked for help.I wouldn’t recommend this location for any auto services. Especially when you need a helping hand.
