We were very worried having read other reviews, but dropping off our RV (having picked it up in Orange County and taking it down Route 66) was absolutely fine. Just don't be an idiot - clean the interior to the level you'd be happy to see it if you were picking it up, and refill the gas. The people there were really nice and accommodating. I honestly don't know why people complain. Be sensible and don't be rude and everything will be fine.

Be very very careful with this place, especially if you’re a first time RV’er. They are not up front about the fees, or issues to expect to have with the RV. They don’t tell you that the shower can only be turned on to rinse your body and that then you’re supposed to turn it off to soap up and then turn it back on to rinse. The reason for this is because the water does not stay hot for more than about two minutes. I am not exaggerating. This information would’ve been helpful to know since we are a family of 5 with young kids. Also, the door lock broke after only about three days into our trip. Very dangerous. We did not break it. The screws simply came loose. Make sure you bring a full tools set with you. They allow for absolutely no wear and tear on the vehicle. They nickle and dime for every. single. little. thing. Please do yourself a favor and buy the extra insurance!About cleaning, they mean it. You need to return it back absolutely spotless, even more clean than when you got it. Inside and out. Thankfully we didn’t get hit with the cleaning fee because I read the previous reviews. Remember that you need to go to a truck car wash for the outside. There’s one about five minutes away from the rental facility that they will refer you to. It costs $120 and takes about an hour and a half. You need to plan that in to return it in time. The website said they would be open until 1pm on Saturdays, but Lance decided to close at 11 and did not tell us! I was able to get him on the phone and begged him to stay a little longer. He said he would try, but that if he wasn’t there by the time we got there that he would charge us for another two overnights. When asked him how he could do that being that we had no way of knowing that he was closing early, in so many words he told me he could and to read the contract. Thankfully, the car was almost done being cleaned and so we did get it back to him before he left. They hold all the cards and don’t care about the customer. They are not up front from the beginning, but they will slam you with everything they can in the end. Never again.

Great experience! Price was really good. We had basically a brand new RV only 5000 miles. We cleaned it no issues, inside and out. We received all of our deposit back! Will absolutely rent again!

Do NOT rent from this location. If they don't like you they will do what they can to ruin your trip. Up to and including, declining your reservation only when you come to pick it up!! Not when you make the reservation.

Don’t rent from her or you will end up getting robbed. Extra cleaning fees, denying rented. DO NOT GO

I am writing today ‘’For Your Situation Awareness’’ of the unprofessional service, that almost turn it to a nightmare, that we received from Cruise America-East Dundee location at: 895 Richardson rd., East Dundee IL 60118 on July 22, 2023, and almost ruined EAA Airventure Oshkosh 2023 experience for us this week.I’m going to try to explain everything from the beginning so you can understand what my family and I went through last Saturday before we start heading to Oshkosh. Every year for the last 10 years we have been renting an RV from Cruise America to go to the EAA Oshkosh Airventure Show. For the past two years we have been renting from the East Dundee location, because we keep getting better deals online. We know the drill, we know their policies and we always return our vehicles back the way they were, and sometimes even better and cleaner. Last year our family and two more of our friends rented from the same location and we were overcharged for cleaning fees when we returned them even if the RVs were spotless. After emailing central headquarters customer care and sending pictures of proof, the fee was removed from our final bill. I guess the representative/owner at East Dundee did not like that and held it against us this year by waiting till the last minute to tell us they would not give us a vehicle and jeopardize our vacation!Last Friday, July 21st, we called and left a message, to schedule an appointment for pick up and never got a response. Next morning, Saturday the 22nd, when I called the location at 10:30 AM to ask what time we could pick up our reservation they told us that they were getting ready to close in 45 minutes. We were going to lose our reservation and they also told us that they called us and left a message, which they never did. Me and my wife jumped in the car right away and were there in 20 minutes. When we got there the front office was locked and after asking an employee on the lot about who to talk to regarding our reservation, he took our credit card and driver’s license and went inside to the locked office to start the paperwork. 10 minutes later, he came out and he told us that his boss told him to tell us that he is refusing to give a rental RV and he “does not want our business” due to that incident that happened last year regarding the fee for the RV wash, and to go somewhere else. Keep in mind that it was Saturday and 12 o’clock, and we were aware that all locations were closing at 1 o’clock and don’t open again till Monday. If he didn’t want our business, he had plenty of time to let us know and not wait till the last minute. Even worse, make us drive all the way there…We called the corporate office and after three calls with different people we finally got some help from someone and they found us a new RV from a different corporate location in Franklin Park IL.As it stands Cruise America-East Dundee location at: 895 Richardson rd., East Dundee IL 60118 lost our business forever! For future reference and FYSA: stay away from Cruise America-East Dundee location.Thank you

Where to begin..i think the owner makes his money on the extra fees that are added on after you bring back a very clean "inside and outside rv. What a scam he has going on here. I hope rv america drops its affiliation with this location because I cringe everytime I see a rv america. Be prepared to spend an extra $1500-$1800 in fees for vehicle being dirty.. you've been warned. Go elsewhere

Go elsewhere. I've heard nothing but horror stories about this place from other customers. They overcharge and cancel reservations last minute after families have made vacation plans. Please write to corporate headquarters to let them know that you will never do business with them again. I will do the same. I recommend you try RV Share made up of private owners who rent their RVs and really care about their renters.

Very informative staff. The experience was great. Cruise America has a ton of rules with thier rental and understandably so. This is not the locations fault. The only odd thing about the location is they locked the building where the staff are and only come out to you to walk through everything with the rentals. It's been hot out and wish I could be somewhere air conditions do discuss the rental agreement. When I tried to walk in, they had the door locked and staff only came out but no one was allowed in. Otherwise the RV experience and information was great and will for sure do this again.

RUN AWAY! Rented an RV over the weekend. Upon returning it we informed the owner, Ryan, that all of the water features: kitchen sink, toilet, and shower leaked. The shower leaked so bad it was running from the walls so we didn't use these features as intended. Ryan's response was that per section 9c of the rental contract, he does not have to guarantee anything other than the vehicle itself works. Reading other reviews it seems he doesn't even do this. I wish I would have read the other reviews before giving him any kind of business. All of the negative reviews are not a conspiracy- it's a pattern of horrible customer service and business management. Avoid so you can have a pleasant trip. Edit- we contacted Cruise America Corporate and they were helpful and apologetic after learning of our interaction with the owner of this location. We will not be giving THIS location any more business and warning others to stay clear.

We recently rented a Cruise America from this location. The owner was very good to us through the whole process. He was very thorough in explaining how the rv worked and what he expected when we returned the rv. We went through the checklist before returning, had the unit washed, and received our full deposit back. They have several rentals and they all seemed to be in good shape. I would definitely go here for a rental again the whole process went perfectly fine.

We recently rented a Cruise America rv from this location for a cross country trip. The owner was very good to us. He was very thorough in explaining how the rv worked and what he expected when we brought it back. We went through the checklist before return and everything was very clean so we received our full deposit back. The rv did have a little damage but it was in no way our fault so it was not an issue. They have several rv's at this location and all seemed to be in good shape. I would definitely recommend this rental location as we no problems with the owner or rental unit itself.

Nice cars and service! Make sure you have all the details in place before heading off. Make sure you clean properly the rv once you take it. They say to return it cleaned to avoid cleaning fee; well I should have been paid to clean it a bit, considering it was not as cleaned as advertised. In rest the rv worked really well, met all our expectations!
