I absolutely loved my experience here. Racheal was by far the biggest god send I could have hoped for during this process. I was told by so many people that I wouldn’t be able to get what I wanted. From the second I met Racheal she immediately told me she would find me what I wanted and we would work to make my day special with the best dress possible. Not only did she regularly check in on me she gave me an amazing experience from the second we met. If your looking for someone who will treat you like your the most important person for your day and make you feel special please go see Racheal. She will do literally everything in her power to make sure you get the dress of your dreams and look like a goddess in it! 10/10 would recommend this shop and Racheal.

I went with a friend to shop for her wedding dress. I was FLOORED at what a great job Rachel does!! She is so thorough and takes time to consider every detail of your day. Dress shopping can be so daunting as a plus size woman, and Rachel’s thoughtfulness, knowledge, and willingness to go the extra step is truly incredible. (AND actually having the dresses in bigger sizes IN STORE for try on is a huge bonus!)There was great communication ahead of the appointment, so she can get to know you and your vibe, and then pull dresses accordingly. We were the only ones in the shop, so we were welcome to look at the dresses and pull others as well. She gives great feedback! Her sincerity was the best part of all. I would fully trust her with my own wedding day — she means it when she says she’s got you, and you just know it. I would give it 6 stars if I could!
BONUS: fans in the dressing rooms. Y’all girlies KNOW that deserves snaps all around!!

10000+ stars!!! Rachel will make you feel so welcomed and relaxed while dress shopping. Our overall experience was so serene, she did an amazing job listening to our conversations during the fitting to determine the next best dress. It does not go unnoticed how passionate she is about her store and customers.

I wouldn’t even give this place a one star... the employees at Down the Aisle were rude, unhelpful, and unfriendly. My mom and I came in on the very first day that they were doing their sample sale. When we walked in, no one approached us or said anything. There were a total of three people working when I was there, and I only ever saw one woman helping customers in entire 30 minutes that we were in the store. The other two employees stood there like robots, with blank facial expressions, just staring at the customers. Since no one approached us, I had to ask the one woman what size I should be looking at (since this was the first time I had been dress shopping in my life) and she told me to look at 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16. That’s quite a range… I realize during a sample sale, and without an appointment, that I wouldn’t be getting personalized service, but I thought they definitely could have done better.
The store is pretty small, but we were one of the first customers in the store during the sample sale. I picked out a few dresses to try on and the only employee that was helping customers said she was getting my room ready. We waited for 10 minutes or so, then she took me back to the room. It was literally the half the size of a standard bathroom shower- it wasn’t a room at all, but a random black curtain pulled over a small bump out. I don’t even think I could have tried on a pair of jeans in that space, let alone a multi layered poofy wedding dress. It was not possible to try a dress on without keeping the curtain completely shut, because it was right in front of the windows and the door… I was surprised that is the space that they would put someone in with poofy dresses to try on. It was extremely dark in the curtain “room” as well, I could not see anything whatsoever.
I felt they should have asked, or made me aware that they would be putting me in a small pop-up room, before having me waste time waiting for that space. I gladly would have waited double or triple the time to get an actual suite. After seeing the curtain space, I asked if I could get a normal room and they said yes, but that there would be wait. That was fine, but it made me mad because we were one of the first ones in the store, yet they put me in the crappy curtain bump out “room,” so we wasted time waiting in line when this could have been avoided by simply asking or or making me aware that is was an Alice in Wonderland sized space- they should probably ask customers in the future if they prefer to wait for a suite or if they can utilize a pop up curtain space. Since we wasted time waiting for the curtain space, other people that picked out dresses long after me were getting the spacious bridal suites (there are two suites). We ended up just leaving before I could try anything on. They were not helpful at all here… do not recommend! I felt defeated and frustrated after my experience at Down the Aisle, not the kind of feeling you want to feel during your first time dress shopping!
I walked into David’s Bridal after my awful experience at Down the Aisle and the employees at David’s Bridal were very helpful and sweet. They were accommodating there and even let me try on a few dresses without having an appointment. I did make an appointment later with David’s Bridal and I eventually bought my dress there.

If I could give more stars, I would! Rachel made buying my wedding dress seamless and stress-free. The moment I booked my appointment, Rachel was on top of everything. We exchanged inspiration pictures via text and had an introductory call to discuss what I was looking for.
During my appointment, she had dresses ready to try on and an assistant was on hand to help me into them. We had the entire place to ourselves and could also pull other dresses if we wanted to.
Living abroad, I needed the dress to be available for me to take this weekend. There were so many beautiful options, and I found the dress of my dreams! However, it needed to be ordered in my size. Rachel quickly took action and arranged for it to be overnighted and delivered before I had to leave. It arrived with time to spare and fit perfectly!
I cannot thank Rachel and her team enough for the wonderful experience! They were incredibly helpful, professional, and thorough. I highly recommend them for all wedding dress and bridal party needs.

I was the little girl who had the detailed visual of my dress. And I knew two things. I didn’t want sleeves. And I didn’t want any tulle. What I didn’t expect was getting a one of a kind experience with Rachel who would take a very large amount of her personal time making me realize that instead of saying this is what I want my dress to be, I was saying this is how I want to look and feel on my wedding day. She took me through an experience I’ll never forget. And I walked out of there feeling like a million dollars with a tulle dress with sleeves! Rachel gave me opportunities to try on new things I never thought I’d look good in and I had a blast. She allowed me to have that one on one time with my mom. And then gave me an amazing experience with my entire family. We laughed together and cried together. Any bride who wants to get that “Kleinfeld Experience” and get that feeling of being important for your special day. This is where you go. I am so grateful I did.

Highly recommend Down the Aisle boutique in Dunlap Illinois! Rachel, the owner, is a gem. She is so knowledgeable and helpful. Her store has a very nice selection from multiple designers of gowns for brides and for the MOB and the MOG. She carries high-quality brands that you don’t usually see, and she is excellent at helping you find the perfect dress. Thank you Rachel! It is well worth the drive to shop at this store, and I love supporting small locally owned businesses. I wasted a lot of time looking elsewhere and being disappointed or unsure — so my advice to brides and mothers is to call for an appointment and start your wedding dress search here!

So glad Rachel’s store exist! I am a plus size bride that had my dress try on day scheduled with Adore bridal. They told me months ago they would have dresses I liked in my size. Two days before dress try on day, they call and tell me they had two dresses in my size!
Rachel has so many plus size dresses and was great to work with! The shop is adorable, which is a plus! It has enough room for all your friends and family!

I am located in MN & called the store looking for a specific MOB dress. The shop owner Rachel had the dress & I told her I was considering making the more than 6 hour drive to see it in person. She was so kind to offer to make some calls to see if she could help me find the dress closer to my home town. Now that is 5 star customer service!!! I would recomend shopping here if you live in the area.

Best. Bridal shop. Ever.
As a plus-size bride, I felt like an alien in most other shops I went to, but Down the Aisle felt like home. Rachel and Kelsey helped me find a dress that made me feel beautiful in my body, which is no small feat!
They also stock straight sizes! My bestie wears a size four, and she also had a great experience and found her dream dress at Down the Aisle.
I brought my mom, mother-in-law, and step-mom here for their gowns, as well.
