422 75th St, Downers Grove“I love this place, the stock is always new and the staff is wonderful. So many fun treasures to find. I often loose track of time and they don't ever rush me. They even stayed an hour past close one night and I didn't even realize it. They are the bomb. They price by the lot so the thrill of the hunt is a blast. Totally stop by often!! Highly recommend.”

The owners were so amazing, kind and helpful. I had a wonderful conversation with them, they were so sweet and memorable. Felt like instant family. Many Great finds. A must visit. I will be back.”
“I’ve been coming here since high school and now I have high schoolers. This place is always a delight with friendly staff and wonderful items. It’s a hidden gem.”
“Tired of following signs that advertise 'ANTIQUES' only to find a buiding full of Beanie Babies, 1970s kitchenware, and your high school yearbook? Sign of the Whale offers none of that. What you will find are authentic antiques - not reproductions - pleasingly displayed in a clean and organized setting. The owners are knowledgeable and friendly and I'll be stopping there whenever I am near Glen Ellyn.”
“Although I did not purchase anything, I thought this store was cute and quaint. I enjoyed walking around and looking at all of the items. It is filled - I mean jam packed - with antiques. They have everything from silver spoons, paintings, and jewelry, to a letter from Robert F Kennedy. I overheard the gentleman behind the counter say that the store has been around for something like 40 years! No wonder! If you're in the area and you like antiques, I'd stop by and take a gander. You might find something you love.”
“This is a great thrift in a great little downtown area in Glen Ellyn. Lots of great, higher-end decorations and homewares that you don't see in other thrift stores. They had some smaller pieces of furniture like chairs and coffee tables that all looked in great condition. In the back of the store there are racks of nice clothing. I didn't see anything that was dirty, smelled, torn, or damaged.”

123 N York St, Elmhurst“This is the only place to purchase Lanzi Carnel nut chew candy. I called a bunch of different stores and nobody knew what I was talking about. I will definitely be back as the store has alot of random things wives live to buy. The person at this location (wish I asked for her name) extremely helpful and made my experience very nice. A gem to visit if your in Elmhurst!!!!”

BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, 2029 75th St, Woodridge“We inherited our father's stamp collection after his passing. We spent the better part of 10 years trying to sell or donate the collection without success. Unfortunately, most buyers we contacted wanted to buy only certain parts of the collection leaving the us with the balance and the expense of return freight. Dr. Robert Friedman & Sons Stamp Company is unique in that they purchase the entire collection. After several phone conversation with Steve Friedman, we met at his office to review the collection. Steve is extremely knowledgeable in the stamp collection world. His honest and concise comments were very welcome. He explained what parts of the collection had value and the parts not so much. Atter the review, Steve made an offer to buy the entire collection at an amount that exceeded my expectation.I would strongly recommend Dr. Rober Friedman & Sons Stamp Company.Larry Mahl”
“Fantastic vintage shop. Lots of great pieces. Filled with collectible glassware and decor. As a collector and reseller, it’s not priced in a way that works for me but it’s still got a great selection for those who aren’t looking for a crazy steal.”

“A fantastic experience working with them. Brian is one of the most knowledgeable and honest person I know. Every time I talk with him, I know I'm getting a good deal.”
“Wonderful antique shop! A great selection, very organized and great prices! I went there an hour before closing and that was not enough time. Had to rush thru the last two isles. I will for sure be returning.”
“Fun place to spend some time walking around hunting for unique items. You don’t come here looking for something, the store tells you what you need! Found an awesome solid oak coat rack with an old “Property of Cook County” tag on it, and a cool newspaper clipping from the old Rock Island Railway. Deb knew exactly where this piece was hanging up and the story behind it, makes it that much cooler. Would love to see some of the slower moving (kitchen/commercial/restaurant) items cleared out and the boxed items displayed or made more visible. I’m sure there’s some real treasures hiding in this place.”
“What a special consignment shop!!! I had so much fun looking around & texting photos to my daughters & friends! The women working today were such a delight & beyond helpful and kind! I can’t wait to come back! Also they keep photos of all their inventory on their website so you can shop from home!”
“Chris was amazing. Took the time to explain everything to me and was extremely friendly. I went to another place and didn’t feel comfortable at all. They made me feel comfortable to sell my coins which I knew nothing about.”
