Sad to say on Friday we had to send our max over the rainbow bridge he was 12 years old and had cancer. The doctor walked us through every step. She was very nice let us have as much time as we needed to say good bye. She took care of everything. I have been taking both my dogs there for 12 years now. I would never take my dogs anywhere else. They understand that our animals are a big part of our family. Thank you again for being there for us at a very sad time.

My cat got hit by a car and even though they were fully booked they made room to get him in and fix him up. Such a great caring place. Thank you so much for fixing Oscar, my cat. He had a shattered leg and skin missing it was bad, at least he is alive. They tried to make the bill as affordable as possible and they did a great job with that. Really impressed with you guys. Thank you!

Misgendering my dog like they didn’t just read her chart, and after an ER visit I attempted to call for a recheck visit at River Ridge. Got to the point I had to speak to management because no one called me to set that appointment up. After I had called 4 times to do so.

As for people skills (most of the time) and only scheduled appointments it's a 5 star. Normal appointments go fine. But.
Honestly if its a "hospital" then I should've been able to get help regardless of the day and regardless of the time. plus there's a chance they won't be able to see you in certain emergencys.
They take extras if they can fit you in and when they just open in the morning it's about an hour before anyone can see you. They don't have anyone there right away. So no point in coming in early better luck calling if they answer.
(I got lucky once and the first appointment cancelled after waiting for a while)
Another problem I have with River Ridge is their closing time. You have such a big facility you should be able to stay open longer. At the least until 8 or 9 but if your a hospital then honestly I would expect 10.
They are on the expensive side as well but are very good with their treatments like I said normal vet service is phenomenal but sometimes their workers can get an attitude or just seem rude. Bad days happen
I have no doubt that they would take your animal in if your animal had a serious, serious, injury and it managed to be at a time where they are open and have a vet. But thats the big issue.
This is not just For River Ridge it's many places. I do understand that. But.
My biggest issue owning an animal in Lee County or the surrounding areas is:
If it's Sunday or past closing time and your cats dying or suffering it's not their problem. their not open. None of these vets are. Even River Ridge only had 3 others for options posted that you can go to. And ones in Iowa.
I should not have to go about an hour and 10 minutes away for emergency help. Or to a different state.
Not even a mobile vet in our area? I've been looking since 9am. It's 3:24 pm I've given up. I'm sitting here struggling. Maybe I'm missing something or theres something I don't know about but I've been looking everywhere.
Any animal can suffer any day. lee county and all of the counties up to over an hour away need to have a least a few options for sundays and varying closing times.
You guys need to all have a meeting or something send one person from each buisness to a place and rework your open times to at least have some places open on Sundays.
Even if it's just for a few hours in the morning. And a few hours in the afternoon some of the hospitals or clinics should do a 9am to 3pm or literally anything.
We owning animals are not Inconveniencing you, but your services on the other hand are Inconveniencing us with the suffering and/or loss of our animals. We pay to get their shots for the county, we pay extra to have them in our homes. We pay the outrageous fees for appointments and treatment. The point of these places is to help us when we need help and all these services hours are hindering that.
Emergency vets or 24 hours vets or mobile. Or animal hospitals. Nope everything closed on a Sunday.
The problem is you don't even think about it until tragedy strikes on a Sunday. With an elderly animal it can be anytime as many of us know. It's heartbreaking to just have to watch them suffer for a whole day and the night just to be able to get a ride in the morning and then have to load them into the carry crate. And have a one hour drive with a screaming or shaking or scared stressed animal and then have to do it the whole way back.
Update:
Simba died an hour and 30 minutes before they opened. We will be getting him cremated. I got pictures of his toe beans for tattoos. He was over 15 in human years.

This was our first visit after being with the same veterinarian for the last 20 years. Our American Staffordshire Terrier, after being attacked by another dog, has trust issues. So we were very concerned how the visit would go. Especially after a terrible experience with another facility. The facility is nicely designed to have plenty of space, so if your fur baby needs a little distance from others while you wait to be seen that's not a problem. It was very clean as well. The staff could not have been any nicer or more accommodating. Dr. Trisha Cooper, while remaining professional, was friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough. Listening and answering any questions we had. Our dog was calm the entire visit. Any anxiety we had before the visit has been laid to rest and we look forward to seeing them again for any and all future visits. I highly recommend them.

We love coming here! We made the switch from Rochelle Vet to River Ridge and not for one second do I regret it. We have had per emergencies and they fit us in so fast! When we are here the Doctors explain to us what’s going on and don’t try to rush us out the door. They don’t make me feel stupid when I ask questions on things I don’t understand or know. They take their time with each one of our pets and I am so grateful!

I have been using the boarding services at River Ridge Animal Hospital for years. All of my dogs have stayed there and have received great care! My dog Sam absolutely loves the staff. He loves the attention, the care that he receives, along with the atmosphere!

Dr Trisha, vet tech Alexander, and the women who i spoke with on the phone were amazing. my cat became suddenly ill and they were the only place who made time to take her. i drove an hour to get her in. Trisha and Alexander were extremely comforting and supportive during my baby’s final moments. i will forever appreciate them.

I came here to say goodbye to my cat of 13 years. The person at the front desk was lovely and made me feel like I chose the right place, but I was wrong about that. When Dr. Erin Graves came in to do the procedure she didn't even tell me she was about to do it. I didn't get to do a proper goodbye to my best friend. Instead I was left in the room after the procedure to say goodbye to my best friend that was just lying on the table. I wasn't able to hear her breathe one last time like I wanted to. The front desk 10/10, vet tech 6/10, the Dr. themselves -20/10. I will never come back here again.

I am returning to the area and my dog needed to be seen after accident. Called and they couldn’t fit a hurt animal in until Monday and I made appointment but they did nothing or even advise me with nearest Emergency Vet. I drove to Rockford emergency vet. He ended up on ABX’s. and pain pills. Needless to say I cancelled my Monday appt. If you can’t help my dog when he is sick and needs attention you sure as heck don’t need my money when he is well. I will be finding another vet to establish with. If you got into the vet business of helping hurt and well animals you FAILED miserably with me

Dr Nathan is a great Doctor, we needed a second opinion and came here, it was the best choice ever.
