Associates always greet us when entering store. Associates always ask if we need help finding items and whenever I ask questions about anything, they always give answers that don’t confuse me. If I need help getting heavy purchases into my vehicle, they are always happy to help.

As I stumbled through the aisles, lost in a haze of confusion and regret, the staff at Ace Hardware were like the home improvement guardian angels, guiding me through the labyrinth of screws, nails, and what-the-heck-is-this-thingamajigs. They didn't judge my questionable choices or my colorful frustration – instead, they embraced my chaos and pointed me in the right direction.
To the folks at Ace Hardware, I salute you! You're the unsung heroes of the home improvement world, keeping us DIY enthusiasts from completely losing our minds. As we continue to pour our hard-earned cash and sanity into our never-ending money pit, rest assured, Ace Hardware, you'll be seeing a lot more of us. Thank you!

Bought a model TB340 lawn blower and it did not perform to its 200MPH rating. Brand new 2/23/2024. Performance was well below my standards. Returned it to Ace Hardware in Dixon Illinois where I bought it. Complete return and bought a Stihl hand held model. Tested it out and it outperformed the Troy Built model hands down. Thanks to Chris, Mike and Jerry for their service.

Went in one time after a recommendation from a family member since they have a lot of very good spices and rubs, one of the workers even talked a little bit about some of the selections and gave me some recommendations on what to try and was satisfied with the choices, the staff is very friendly and the selection was amazing place looks older but never judge a book by its cover, it’s probably the most friendly staff I have met in a while

The sales area is great and always 5 stars before for years, this review is about the rental customer service. If you rent a tool on Saturday night @ close time for 2 days, you shouldn't get charged for the initial night. The rental should start technically the next morning and be due back Tuesday morning. After discussing this with their staff member, they told me that isn't the way it works. Then moments later they said if I had picked it up on Friday night for 2 days it would have been the whole weekend due back Monday morning. When I asked how that is different than what I'm asking for they wouldn't explain and started to get attitude. I said I should have just bought the item instead at the rate they charge and he replied, "if you can find a Mikita for $250 I'll buy a truckload." - which is exactly what a customer that had a days rental stolen wants to hear as an explanation. Unfortunately I'll have to use a different hardware store from now on which is sad because I like supporting small businesses. Reply to owner: I'll accept the contract, just not the poor customer service coupled with insults yelled at me as I walked out the door. That's what didn't meet my expectations. Not even an offer to rent it to me for another day if I needed. Maybe a bad day, but still needs to be addressed rather than defended.

Dixon Ace is always a great place to go for things. The staff is always super friendly and very helpful in finding what you need. They are knowledgeable in their areas to help guide you if you have any other questions that you may need assistance with as well. My husband had become quite the regular and doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon either.
