Owl Hardwood Lumber Co. is a great lumber supply with a very nice and excellent variety of woods. They have a very large selection of standard woods like oak, hardwoods, sheet goods, and trim, with lots of cool varieties and so much inventory. Prices are much better than the big box stores, though commensurate with the expensive area. They offer volume discounts and are always worth calling to price check or stock check materials. The staff is amazing, very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, and patient. They are very willing to help from start to finish, whether in person or on the phone. The shop workers do an excellent job with custom services like wide format sanding, plywood cut lists, and providing clean reference edges. This place is a huge resource for both professionals and amateur DIY-ers, and customers highly recommend it for all lumber needs.

Great lumber supply. They have very nice selection. Price is commensurate with cook county (read area is expensive), but it is worth it if you’re not willing to travel to Indiana or southern Illinois. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.
