I ve been to dr Powell about 2 month now . I have a type 2 diabetes for the last 23 yrs. I've been prescribed more an more pills as diabetes progress, on my last visit in May doctor said that I will be going on insulin which I feared the most.Since joining dr. Powell program in May I've lost 16 lb and my sugar went down significantly, I discontinued to take Farxiga and glyburade alsoa one of the statins for cholesterol. My reading went down from 210's to under 150 and still going down as my AC1 from 7.6 to 6.9 I know the reversal takes time but I'm confident that by and by the end of the program I may discontinue meds as whole. Now I'm shopping for new wardrobe because my stomach no longer there.

Dr Powell and Kristina are available for information and questions anytime. We have found them to be helpful and encouraging in my husband's treatment. My husband, Bill, a pharmacist, knowing medications and their effect on a person, has been encouraged and helped with reducing many of his meds. He is feeling good and has energy to do what he enjoys. The program works - you just have to do it and follow through.

This man, in my opinion is a thief! Dr. Powell charged me $1,000 for some lab work that was all probably covered by my insurance and he did not even want to look into what would be covered because he just wanted to hustle me out of my money! Dr. Powell proceeded to make me think that I am a very sick person and offered me a 6 month treatment program that would cost me $9,500, oh and if I paid it all up front he would give me a $500 discount. He has the most horrible sales pitch I have ever been a part of! With his smugness and arrogance asked my husband and I why he should take my case? Really? People are coming to you for help and you ask them like that? I had another doctor review the lab work and the review was not to the tune of $10,000 and that I was not pre-diabetic and other false things Dr. Powell told me! He is not concerned about your best interests, just making a ton of money off of you! Beware of him he is not an honest man!

My husband & I went to these people's "free lunch" his secretary went around all of us asking if we were interested on meeting with "Dr" Powell of course we had to pay $49 non refundable fee, I was skeptical but my husband insisted so we went to his office only to find out that his "treatment" will cost $10,000.00 (very affordable according to him) sure if you are rich and make millions but for us it was impossible, we're seniors surviving on SS, we said NO right away he got upset and told my husband that I was putting finances first rather than his health, his last comment was "Good luck you're going to die soon" WHAT!!! and he calls himself professional ? was that really necessary...like my son told us there is no such thing as a free lunch!!....;-(

Last November 2017 my husband & I went to Dr Powell's "free lunch" he came talked to all of us about his knowledge on how to reverse type ll diabetes, his secretary did all the recruiting for a personal appointment with him, my husband was interested in going to him since he has type ll diabetes, I was skeptical because Mr Powell did mention that he was not a doctor, but I agreed so yes we paid $49 (TODAY ONLY) I hate that.. we went to his office and after 2 hrs of him talking and showing pictures of internal organs of the human body, I asked him how much is the cost? he kept avoiding giving us an answer and he kept on saying it is affordable, we could do it on a payment plan, blah blah, blah, he almost had my husband convinced, thank God I was there when he finally said it is $10,000.00 I got up so fast from my seat and said ok WE'RE DONE, no possible way, he kept on talking and I finally said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH he got very mad and told my husband "good luck you're going to die soon" WHAT? excuse me? what a horrible thing to say, and you called yourself a professional? He is such a j**** I want everyone to know that this holistic idiot preys on retired & sick people and he should be arrested... our son got so mad when we told him our experience and he advised us to report him....people be aware there is no such thing as a "free lunch"

I work in the medical field and I highly recommend going to see Dr. Powell! The staff is on top of everything, and very well organized. They work well with your schedule and make sure to get you an appointment when needed. Overall the environment is very welcoming and the staff is very friendly. You don't have to wait around, they take you right away, which is AWESOME. I definitely recommend going to see them! Thanks Dr. Powell & Staff for all that you do!

I like to say my immune system ate my pancreas when I was 10--it's one of my default ways of explaining Dr. Powell that I have had Type 1 diabetes for the better part of two decades now. Greater Chicago Functional health has been there for me every step of the way. My few ventures outside of the system (for college, etc) have made me so glad for that, because they do such a great job, not just with medical care, but with dealing with the disease as the complex challenge that it is.

I just left Dr. Powell's office. The other reviewer's description is quite accurate. If you are curious about your health and want to get a snapshot via labs you can do that for $850. Be prepared after your lab review to shell out $9000 dollars, less the $850 lab fee, to get on his program of detoxing, diet, and health counseling. I think I will just go it alone. No wonder they hold this last card ($) very close to the chest. I'm just sorry I talked my fixed-income friend into going to the luncheon where she paid $49 (TODAY ONLY!) non-refundable for an initial counseling appointment. She really can't even afford the $49, much less $9000 bucks. She never did make and won't make the counseling appointment now that we know the price tag. And now you know the price tag too. Save yourselves.

I went to see Dr. Powell about reversing my Type II Diabetes. The first visit was informational & for him to see if I would be committed to doing whatever necessary, if I were "accepted" into the program. When I asked about the cost of the program, he replied that it was affordable & not something he would discuss at that time. The 2nd visit required the attendance of a family member in the same household, to ensure they would support me in any lifestyle change if I were "accepted" into the program. The 3rd appointment was to review blood work to determine the course & length of treatment if I were "accepted" into the program. I requested the cost of the program again & was not prepared for the sticker shock I received (five figures), nor did I appreciate the doomsday scenario regarding death/amputation upon his seeing my sudden loss of interest in the program.
