Let me start up by saying if I could get zero stars I would. I can’t even give a half a star. The one star is being incredibly generous. And when I called headquarters to file a complaint, I was literally given seven different phone numbers. Seven! What a joke.
I called Goodwill located in Des Plaines on Lee Street yesterday. I spoke to young lady yesterday, asking her the times that they were open so I can drop off a donation. I told her I was donating a daybed that I no longer need in my home. I broke it all down. Attach the screws in a baggie to the bedframe. Granted, I live 2 1/2 minutes from the Goodwill, I arrived just before 9 AM the time that the young lady told me they opened. As I’m starting to unhook the bungee cords and starts to pull out the daybed a woman comes out and says, what do you have there? I replied a day. She said we don’t take furniture and we haven’t for three years. I looked at her and I said, so why couldn’t you tell me when I called yesterday. She looked at me and said sorry I don’t know what to tell you. Are you flipping kidding me? So I had to drive all the way back home with a bedframe of a daybed in my car and the woman did not even attempt to help me place it back into the car. I am livid. This Goodwill has gone downhill for the last year. Whenever I walked in there, I seen furniture. So now all of a sudden you don’t want to perfectly good daybed? What a joke this charity has become.

Came out with a couple cheap finds because I wasnt gonna waste a trip but the selection of Homegoods could have been trashed. They had alot of plates and glasses but other kitchen items they were lacking. What they did have was 40 yrs old and worn out. That's fine, its donations and it could have just been a slow week but what they didnt do was have someone organizing, very junky and not organized at all. I have been to others that are better quality and shelves make you want to shop, workers making it look "put together", Not here. Felt like a Scavenger hunt. I did give 2 stars because the couple items I found were really a deal. Probably wouldn't return to this one. Its giving not so good garage sale. Cashiers were polite. Thanks for that

Best store ever! ?? LOVE shopping here! I find the best books, clothes, and shoes among many other things. They have so many nice things and a wide variety of a little bit of everything. They have women's clothes, men's clothes, baby clothes, toddler clothes, young adult clothing.

Very organized and very clean. Friendly staff. I've have been to many goodwill stores over the years and I would say this was in the top3 in regards to organization and cleanliness and staff. Definitely recommend. Sad I didn't think to take pics for a review while I was there

If you ever wanted to know why everything is marked up so high and expensive it's because the managers get a bonus if they make sales. That's why there's always dirty or junk items on the shelves. They don't see what's right in front of them. All they see is dollar signs. It has nothing to do with expenses or inflation. It's just good old fashioned corporate greed. Meanwhile employees can't even accept tips unless its given to Goodwill or they'll lose their job. It's not as if they pay for the merchandise they sell since it's all donated items anyway. More stuff is thrown out than is sold and employees are barely paid minimum wage. Make as much money as possible while doing very little for the actual people. That's the true Goodwill mission.

To. The tall white lady that came to front while cashier was checking me out, its no wonder you can only get the job you have you are rude w...t... No class no education, if you think you can bully customers, manager of the store should fire you.I will never shop at this store again. Just so you know before I retired I have always worked in office. Salary way over 100,000.00 per year.

Way too pricey for a Goodwill. Men's shirts are mostly $6-10 Glassware around $4 for decent stuff.

They like about the time near closing and you hear the workers complaining that they want to go home.

I went to Donate at 7:00pm I didn't realize they were closed this guy came outside to take the donations while another guy name Isaiah came yelling and screaming being extremely inappropriate and rude with his words screaming at the employee and me he can't take it we are close you need to get out of here. I said that's fine he already took them. His still being obnoxious extremely bad behavior and his waking away while his cursing out. I will never donate to this location ever again I called the Manager right away and informed him about his employees behavior hope they fix this issue for others as for me I won't ever give them another change there are a lot of other paces that would appreciate my donation, they should train their employees how to treat people what a shame.
