SAVE YOUR COINS AND YOUR EDGES!!
I have lived in Dekalb since 2015 and have come to this salon here and there. My stylist was booked this month so I thought I try here again. After day three of my hair being freshly done the braids by my edges and in the back started falling out leaving ball spots. To be honest y’all knew these braids were way too tight. I voiced that they were to tight instead you said just hold it when u braid. You even made a joke about how my shoulders were tense and told me to lower them and relax for a picture. I emailed you all promptly you answered emails as if you would help solve the problem and would give me time to come to the shop and no one would be there. I tried to give y’all the benefit of the doubt because y’all are Christian and wholesome. But it’s the fact that y’all stopped answering the emails as soon as I realized you were playing with my time. It’s the fact that if you were going to do all that why did answer the emails in the first place? I started the emails off by just asking y’all to redo the front. That’s it. Then after two weeks go by I asked for a partial refund not even a full. So it is what it is. I don’t need a response I’m so good. I just know now, NOT to come to MY1 hair salon & spa.

I have had lots of breakage and just overall hair loss i was so worried something was going to go wrong with my first time hair appointment at this hair shop but oh everything went right my braider was a slim lady with locks very nice and laid back but professional at the same time while making me feel like i was at home with a friend or family member the vibe was nice and very friendly i will be coming back thank u

The customer service here was terrible. All I got was 2 layer tribal braids I sat in the chair for over 8hrs and the stylist still wasn’t done. making me late for work. after telling she would be done 2 hrs before. She consistently took smoke breaks and breaks to get on the phone but charged me extra because of my longer hair, saying I had to pay for her “time” even though she had no problem wasting mine. I still had to come again the next morning for her to finish it took an additional 3 hours. I have never sat in a stylist chair for that long. There were no apologies for the long wait times and smoke breaks. The owner said she would give me a discount but still charged me full price. Never received worse customer service.

I am very disappointed in the overall experience I had with this shop. I am new to Dekalb, looking for somewhere to get my locs retwisted. I found this shop on google, proceeded to book an appointment for Sunday (which their booking site allowed me to do) and pay a deposit. Just to find out upon arriving for my appointment, that they are closed Sundays and Mondays. Making me wait until Tuesday to see if they can reschedule. This incident of itself was very unprofessional to me. I have never known a stylist, let alone a shop of stylist to having a booking site, that lets you book on days they are not available.I was then able to reschedule my appointment the following Wednesday for 10:30am. I arrive that day, and no one was there to open the shop, when my appointment was scheduled. My stylist came 15 minutes later. Just strolling on in and having to open and turn on lights as I waited outside. What type of shop only opens when they have SCHEDULED clients. Maybe if you were an individual stylist, but I would think that walk up shops, would be open to and from the hours they have posted on their door.My stylist, Chanelle was a cool person. However, I can tell that she barely knows what she is doing when it comes to doing locs. I asked how long she’s been doing locs, she said she been doing hair for over 20 years. That’s great and all, but locs require a specific amount of care and maintenance. Which she lacked. She didn’t even wash my hair good. My hair still feels as dirty as it did, before she “washed” it.I am just very saddened that this shop is not what they appeared to be. Especially since the owner has the resources and finances (being a teacher at the university), to make sure it thrives. And if she doesn’t, then maybe don’t keep open a business you can’t put everything into to.Service: Dreadlocks

I have been a client of Mee Mee's for the past four years. Every time I visit this salon I always receive top notch service! When I first came to her my hair was natural and very unmanageable. I wanted a perm she suggested against it but humbly obliged to my wishes. Since then I have tried crochet braiding, pony tails, tape ins which I loved but only to return back to being natural and now loc's. Mee Mee is multi talented and has a great eye for detail. She's not just a beautician but an actual stylist! Many times I have came undecided in regards to how I want my hair and given her free range to do what she see's as a stylist and every time she never seems to disappoint! If you are looking for an expert that provides great service and care for your hair? I highly recommend My1 Hair Solution Salon where the solutionist for all hair types are treated. This place is a rip off. I was trying to get some micros done but I cancelled my appointment because they tried to charge me $600. I can get that done at the African shop no more than $300.
