Harry, one of the owners, is extremely helpful and always goes out of his way to assist with finding things. He’s super friendly and makes you feel welcome every time you stop by. His father is equally kind and approachable, making this market a warm and inviting place to shop.

On top of that, he goes out of his way to get to know his customers and remembers what wines they like. He is so friendly and welcoming and has a great wine selection. “Good shop assortment, many alcohol brands and friendly atmosphere. However, shop have serious issues with the vape products. Even if you will test vape directly in front of cashier - first few puffs will be perfect. However, after 10-20 puffs vape become completely burnt. Tested three times and wasted money. Will not make more attempts to buy any vape here. However shop is recommended for other products.”
“Luna Rosa in Highland Park, IL, features international wines produced by wineries that respect both earth and our health. The shop owner has amazing knowledge and personally selects her inventory. She helped us select a wine we both liked despite our very different preferences. After discovering this neighborhood gem, I am cancelling my wine club memberships in lieu of stopping by frequently to learn and purchase directly from Luna Rosa.I look forward to enjoying the shop's free wine tastings on Wednesday evenings and their occasional special educational wine events. “Hands down, one of the best beer stores I've ever been in! If you love craft beer you should be shopping (and/or drinking) here! The selection is outstanding and you can drink your purchase on-site or take it to go. All cans and bottles are sold as singles so you can mix and match. There's also about 20 rotating taps poured in various sizes. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. For someone who prefers buying singles and drinking sample pours this is the shop I've always dreamed of!”

“In the suburbs my liquor stops are limited to the purchasing of airplane bottles. At Payless they have as regular a selection as most shops but with a few extras. Specialties like: Kraken rum, Camarena which is a premium tequila when set against Cuervo. Titos in a glass bottle which is a plus for those that enjoy the crisp flavor of a good vodka. (Keep'em in the freezer and shoot'em when you like.) Also it looks as though the serving size is larger than most bottles of that type but it is the same measure. I was also pleasantly surprised to find Stolichnaya minis. Another good vodka brand. In suburban liquor stores one can often find "airplane bottles" aka minis or "nips." Though, not every business will offer a finer collection. Mini bottles run from .99 cents to a few dollars depending. Usually the premium spirits carrying the higher pricing. Their setup along the counter is arranged like candy assortments found in similar convenience shops. Since I was waiting on bbq from the pizza joint next door, I had some time to kill stocking up on minis. The owner seemed nice. He was talking sports while I was making my choices. Although the name is Payless liquors.. I doubt that anyone is actually paying less for their booze. If you want discounted booze, head to a big chain. If you want to find something different or to save time, hit a convenience store.”

They are also always eager and happy to help find particular brands or vintages when I’ve wanted or needed them for a client. The staff is courteous and helpful without breathing over your shoulder the whole time and the owners are fantastic to work with.
