I would give minus if i could, called on tues sept 20 to find out what was needed to get a rental. Was told by the lady atleast 500 dollar safety deposit on debit xard paying for rental and tge rental was 60 bucks and change for a one day rental. Call thurs sept 22 to double check and was told by a man 500 dollar security deposit and car would be 85 dollars a day . Call fri sept 23 and gave card info to man on the phone and was told all was good to go on reservation for wed sept 27 pick up. Wed sept 27 pick up, get there hand over my drivers license and debit card, get told there will be a credit check, my response was" I wasnt told about a credit check"His answer was " Its a credit check on your debit card"Was denied my rental and almost didnt get court in another state taken care of.

My truck is in the shop so needed a vehicle. The service at Hertz is friendly and the car I got is nice.

Really poor rental company.Coming after my insurance company for their paint warranty issues . Paint bubbled up from intense sun back in May. Apparently, we signed something in the paperwork that allows them to come after you 6 months afterwards. Corruption. Will never use them again for my car rental needs

If I could give 0 stars I would. We literally got stranded without a way home to our home state. I called and the man working told me a ONE DAY Rental would be $296 plus a $200 security deposit. I called corporate to ask them why it was so expensive & they said it’s local dealers discretion. So I then go into the branch itself to talk with him and explain we have no other option & needed something cheaper- absolutely no care at all. Told me it would be $296 plus the $200 deposit. When I asked what kind of car we would be getting for that price he said “I’m not sure til tomorrow.” RED FLAG. We’ve rented a lot of cars over the years and size = price. So you were gonna charge me $300 for one day & not even tell me til after I paid what I was going to be driving? Complete crook. Drove down to STL airport Hertz & paid $86 a day for a CRV and was in and out in 10 min. Don’t waste your time with this branch- the reviews are right!

This place is horrible! A con artist works there and rips off people. We got a rental that our car insurance was paying for. When we picked the car up we were told that a $50.00 deposit would be taken and held until return. We returned the car and was told we owed nothing. All free and clear. To our surprised in seeing our bank account today over $200 dollars was charged to us. For insurance on the vehicle which was never explained to us the day of rental. This place doesn't explain anything about the process or their hidden fees. We were not given any papers or receipt NOTHING. They just take your credit card and bill you. VERY POOR customer service. Taking advantage of the customer when they have no idea of how they are being ripped off. Our insurance company would have paid for any insurance needed, He should not have done this. His guy KNEW he was ripping us off. So beware! Go elsewhere to rent. We give it a ZERO.

Car was clean and available when I needed it. Staff was amazingly refreshing as well. Tami the manager helped me get a car last minute no issues.

This place is absolutely awful. I can see now why all the reviews are trash. The guy with short black hair and a beard (didn’t even care enough to get his name) is literally the worst human you will encounter. Condescending, rude, and power trippy. He had the power to make renting from hertz a pleasant time, but he made it absolutely awful. This must be the only place where he has control in his life, and has to use it to be a miserable human being. Never using hertz again and rented a car from Avis right after leaving and has a lovely attendant who worked with us and actually got us a way better deal with a nicer car!!!! Use Avis or literally any other company and avoid that place, and that guy at ALL costs.I hope this guy sees this too!

I was told over the phone that to use their insurance it would be a $25 payment. Not $25/day. When I called the guy lied to me on the phone saying he told me otherwise and did not offer compensation for a lie made on their end. Ended up taking $275 from my account. Screwed over an already broke college student after two accidents that weren’t even my doing. Mike needs a new profession.

Had a very positive experience with the manager herself as she went out of her way to offer me a ride home after a long day when I was wanting to drop off my rental car.

Employee Michael Stabb wrote up my rental contract, making a HUGE mistake. My 1 day rental fee of 87.00 turned into over a 425.00 charge. When I called to ask him why he became very rude and unprofessional. I will NEVER use this firm again!!! DEFINITELY stay away from this firm! He put I was returning the car back to Decatur the following day but knew I was renting the car to go to Ohare Airport for a flight out of the country. So, how can I return it when I'm out of the country. He even gave me his business card with the exact address as to where to return the car in Ohare Airport. I was overcharged almost 400.00 on my credit card. Not only was he rude but the toll-free Hertz customer service department was also not helpful and were very rude!!

The vehicle was filthy inside and out, several scratches. Windows on inside were filmy and very difficult to clean after we had left. The agent simply brushed the back seat off with his hand and barely wiped the steering wheel with a cloth. Dirt on floor. Not happy at all, the car operated well but I expected better from Hertz.

I will never use this company again! I unfortunately had no choice because the person who hit me insurance company had me go through them. I was told about the $50 deposit then asked if I wanted to add the fuel package for an additional $11 and I agreed. They brought it to me with a little under full and so dirty you couldn't tell the Chevy Malibu was black. Two days after returning the car clean and with the same amount of fuel in it they said they released the $61 hold and It reflected in my account later that night. This morning I wake up to my bank account being negative $59.98 so I called and they said because the tank wasn't 100% full they had to charge me $60.02! The night before returning it it was a little under a half a tank and it cost me $20.75 to put it exactly where they had it! I was told by a customer service rep that because my gas receipt was dated the day before I returned it that it's not proof that I put the fuel in the car! I have proof that once I parked the car at 9pm the night before it didn't move till I took it back to the drop off site (that's literally a mile down the road from my house) the next day! I will be contacting BBB about this!

If you ever need a rental this is the place to go! They have an amazing team of people that treat you well and they are more help than hassle I would highly recommend, if I could give 10 stars I would! Thank you so much for helping me...
