For the first time in two years, I went to Osco pharmacy and Darien to pick up my prescription on a Sunday one hour before close. I was greeted by a very nice Pharmacy tech name to Joeseph. He was nice. He walked up and said I'll be with you shortly. He walked up and said hello how can I help you, I was shocked because every time I go there especially when it's this Indian pharmacy tax the first thing he says in a very loud rude voice. What's your birthday? What's your address? They don't say hi they don't ask anything that they're very rude they act like they're doing you a favor by getting your prescription for you. I just want to say Joseph did a great job. If that's the days he works that's the days I'll pick up my remaining prescriptions but meanwhile I go to Walgreens in Darien because they act like they're glad to see you.

I wish I could give this place zero stars; incompetence, abrasiveness and a failure to communicate. A woman who was answering the phone interrupts mid-sentence when you try to explain something regularly. It took them one full week to get my medication which I need everyday. When calling them, they told me what they usually do, that my doctor needs to complete some step before I can get my medication - that it is on my doctor. Well, little did they know that I JUST got off the phone with my doctor who told me my medication should be accessible. After informing the rude woman on the phone this, I was put on hold for 5 minutes and low and behold - BAM! My medication was magically ready. Well, kind of - it would be arriving the next day AFTER 4 p.m.Again, this is a medication one needs to take every single day and they make it impossible. Every single month, they would give me the same red-tape junk until I asked my doctor to include a note on my proscription, which did the trick for a couple of months. Then, when the note was not included (it did not need to be, I did this step additionally to save hassle) everything seemed to reset and I needed to start all over, as if I had never been on the medication to begin with. The pharmacy would inform me that my doctor needs to complete X, and when I asked what that was so I could effectively communicate it to my doctor and the pharmacist responded with, "they will know."Even IF they are 100% correct and the responsibility resided with my doctor (which I am almost certain it did not, since the medication MAGICALLY became available after I refused to take no for an answer), their demeanor was absolutely abysmal and has inspired me to change pharmacies. Convenience be darned...

I'm surprised to see so many harsh reviews of the pharmacy here. This is actually my favorite pharmacy of several I've tried in the area. I've moved all my scripts here since they're always quick to fill things and never have any problem repricing things with GoodRx versus my insurance based on what works out best. Also I've never had anyone here ever be anything less than polite and friendly even when they're harried and super busy. I definitely can't say the same for other pharmacies. In addition I've gotten some of the better pricing using good RX or with my insurance benefits through this location.

Would be nice to receive prescription ready notifications BEFORE I pick it up. Would be nice to have it ready after being told it is ready and not have to wait for it.. When they are out of stock, would be nice to be told that upon submitting the prescription, not several hours later, so that I could go to Walmart or Mariano's or even Walgreens across the street. As a post-op patient who cannot drive, dealing with this pharmacy has become a MAJOR pain. It's been 4 visits already and we still don't have the full prescription amount on hand... Save yourself the aggravation and find another place...

They get the job done--although sometimes I have to call other Osco Pharmacies to call them to get them to do their jobs correctly. This pharmacy has caused too many frustrations for my wife and myself over the past year and a half since we moved nearby. I know the standard of quality from my previous Osco Pharmacy--and the customer service here falls short. I will consider changing this review in the distant future if things get consistently better.I will say this--the customer service here was bad enough to where my wife and I started going back to our old pharmacy which is a further drive.

There needs to be more than 2 CASHIER lines open. Not more self checkout stations. When you have 3-4 people waiting in line for each of the cashiers, you need to open another one.

I do not know why this Jewel is rated this way but it is not bad at all. Like whenever I go there it is filled with customers. I placed an order today for a customized cake and I cannot explain the kindness of Nina, one of the cake designers. She is amazing with customers, so professional, and sweet. Bless her heart!

The worst pharmacy I've ever dealt with! I had a prescription transferred over from Walmart because Osco was more convenient from where I live. I used a Good RX coupon for some face cream and when I returned a few days later to pick it up, they told me that my prescription was expired, even though it wasn't (by a few days.) I believe they didn't want fill the prescription for the coupon price but still transferred the prescription because it looks better "on the books". Do yourself a favor and go to Walmart's pharmacy on 75th Street.

Expired dairy, meats and shelf items offered for sale are a pretty routine find at this location. Terribly managed store. During the pandemic, the required by law mask policy wasn't even enforced for the stores own employees with exposed noses and mouths throughout the store. Customers usually keep their masks on to protect themselves snd others, but recently while shopping there were several customers without a mask in sight. This despite a sign in the door stating masks required. I called corporate customer service and they initially weren't even aware that masks were required until they "looked it up". This store doesn't care about its customers, as evidenced by spoiled expired food and a refusal to follow medical mandates. There are other grocery stores in the area where your strawberries won't have mold on them and your bacon didn't expire two weeks ago.

They are not helpful. They do not put in orders properly. They do not operate professionally nor in a timely manner. If you can find another in the area, even if it is a slightly farther drive, it will save you time.

I go to Darien jewel 2 or 3 times a week and always have a great experience. Have talked to John the store manager many times. Very friendly and knowledgeable. During remodeling seems very organized, clean and neat. This is my wife's #1 store for groceries. Thanks for everything

I felt like I was in a different world when I was shopping there tonight. They are doing a remodel which is understandable but there is no music, dead silance and tons of empty shelves. No maps or any guidance on where product like bread or cereal are located. For a local community store, I am not going back. I live right down the street and have been going there for 15 years. I have never felt more uncomfortable in my life. Plus the staff was very limited. Only 1 cashier open and I was bagging my own groceries. If I wanted to bag my own groceries I would have gone to Aldi which is where I am going to start going from now on. Marianos is the best for customer service and cleanliness. This Jewel can't even clean the empty shelves that they are remodeling. Very discussed and disappointed.

We like shopping your store because you have what we need and you are close. But . . . what the heck are you thinking reorganizing the store to such a major degree in the middle of a PANDEMIC? People are trying to get in and out of the store quickly and with as little interaction as possible and you have the whole store turned upside down!!! BAD, BAD, move!
