I’ve been taking my dog to Finan Animal Hospital for almost 8 years now. The staff is friendly and all of their doctors are extremely knowledgeable and you can tell they truly care about your animals. Coming into the clinic I feel as if we are apart of their family. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone looking for a vet. Dooby and I can’t wait to come back for his next visit ?

After receiving some potentially scary news about my galgo (Spanish greyhound), I had the gut feeling that I NEEDED to find a veterinary practice that was skilled in caring for sighthounds. I didn't feel comfortable with the diagnosis we were given (always trust your gut!) and I received two separate referrals for Dr. Finan so I gave them a call.Upon my initial call to set up the appointment, Michelle, who answered, was extremely sweet and professional in setting us up. When we walked in, we were warmly greeted and felt comfortable. Once in the room, we were greeted by Katie who was very nice and gathered some info from us. Dr. Finan came in and was assisted by Morgan, and we were immediately impressed with how caring they both were to our nervous boy!Dr. Finan reviewed what the other vet had sent over and immediately advised that the concerns we were advised, were not a concern whatsoever. (The previous vet advised us he likely had kidney failure!) She took the time to sit down with us and thoroughly explain that greyhounds/sighthounds have different lab readings than other canines so his blood/urine work done by the previous vet was normal for him (despite what we had been told). She asked us if we had any other concerns (we did which were not really concerns) and gave us alternatives and input that our previous very never addressed once...We all left very relieved, impressed, and glad that we were referred to Dr. Finan - her bedside manner is absolutely outstanding. We were so happy that we were also going to be bringing our other two pets (a mystery mutt and an old man cat) to them, even though we live in the southwest suburbs, we are happy to make the trek for great care.

We’ve been coming here for the past 4 years. Lately they’ve become too much money motivated.Every time they’ll throw a high estimate “just to be safe”.. if you say it’s too much before you sign, nurse will say “don’t worry there’s no need to re-do the estimate it will be lower than that” and you’ll end up with a normal $ bill, even little bit below what they initially estimated. In my case, dog had issue with his eyes so for the first three times bill was around $130 with exams and medications. Today was 4th visit in 2 years. I didn’t say anything about high estimate because I know the story that follows my question about the price, I just signed it. End of the visit - boom - bill for same exams and same medication $215.Manager Jenn came to explain that higher cost is due to inflation. When that didn’t work, production shortage of the eye drops was the reason for price change. On my response that I understand prices went up but almost $100 is a little bit too much she said I should probably find some other animal hospital which she’s right. I should’ve changed the clinic after we came back for third time for the same issue and been offered same “solution”. There was no need for us to come here today, for the 4th time.I deserved to be scammed.Paid the bill, took the records and went to another vet.

Love my Vet Dr Finan she is on top of my dogs health. I have had the opportunity to see the other Vets as well and they are also very good including all the staff. When I got my greyhound I was on the fence because my Vet I had was getting up in age. I am so blessed I found Finan Animal Hospital. I never have to wait on a response when I have an issue with one of my dogs ♥️

I love Finan Animal Hospital! They neutered my 7 lb chihuahua Beau a year ago and he has recovered from surgery perfectly. My other chihuahua is seen by them as well! Dr. Leasure and the vet techs are nothing but kind to our dogs! We highly recommend this vet clinic to everyone. ❤️

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I learned from a friend that April Finan is a greyhound veterinarian. I had been at VCA for many years for 2 greyhounds and 2 cats. Dr. Finan and staff are excellent! I had an introductory visit and decided to schedule a dental for my greyhound with Dr. Finan. Staff are so polite and helpful and Dr. Finan is so knowledgeable and a nice human being. The dental went great, this is the first time one of my greyhounds was not over medicated for a procedure and he did so well. Angie the vet tech was lovely. Love this practice. My cat is transferring here too.

I've been taking my pup here for around two years now, and I've had nothing but positive experiences. They are always kind and responsive whenever we've needed anything. I highly recommend Finan Animal Hospital for veterinary care.

We had a great first experience bringing our cat here! We luckily have got a same day appointment and they were extremely helpful every step of the way. The staff did a great job with my cat who was very anxious they were very kind to us. They answered all of my questions and taught me a lot I didn’t know! The price was also very reasonable.

We recently adopted a dog and brought him to Finan. Not going to lie, my dog is a lot! Very hyperactive and does not like to stop moving. They have been so helpful, kind and understanding throughout handling and diagnosing him. Everyone from the front staff to the back is amazing! Highly recommend them!

I am giving this place 0 stars. It won't let you give 0 stars. They are the worst vet in town. I lost a dog last year and now my other dog is dying and was given 3-6 months to live. If you have a sick dog be careful going here. I believe my dog was misdiagnosed. I have been in and out of there for the last 6 years with my sick dogs. My last dog was dying, and I called 15 minutes before they closed, and they told me to just go to the emergency room. Never cared that she didn't make it. She couldn't swallow and they had her on 7 different medications with no solutions. Now my other dog was diagnosed with extreme arthritis and stopped walking after I took her to the groomers that they recommended. Took her back at least 2 more times for ultrasounds and xrays and everything and on the last visit said that she has cancer all over and a tumor pressing against her heart and that she only has 3-6 months to live. Why didn't they catch this on the first ultrasounds that were only a few months apart. They said that her not walking could be from the tumor. I gave my dog shots that were unbelievably expensive and laser treatments and all that and that might not have been the issue according to one of the vets. hmmm Nobody ever called on dog to see how they were doing. They are all about money in my opinion. To get a series of shots cost me over $500 per dog which is unreal I've spent thousands of dollars at this place. I had to get her blood pressure because it was super high which is hard on the tumor. I had to have it taken 3x and was $50 just for one bp. If you adopt a puppy and come here be prepared to not walk out the door without spending $500. They close whenever they feel like it which left me without my dogs meds for 3 days. I was very upset at this and did leave a nasty message because I was scared my dog was going to get sick without her meds and the manager called to tell me she was discharging my dying dog basically refusing to continue her care so now I have to find a vet that can help us. I guess they did me a favor. They are not open on weekends which I have never heard of from a vet which means they are probably making a ton of money with these prices. I'm only sorry I haven't left this place sooner but didn't want to start the whole process again so I stayed for my dog but they don't care if they lose patients. Very disheartening. I feel bad I put my dog through all this.

I just want to take a second and thank every individual for all of their kindness. We had to put our 14 year old boxer pit down today. Truly a caring and loving staff. My boy left us in his dad's arms and looking in my eyes holding his paw. I couldn't ask for a better experience. He left us knowing it was his time and he just looked in my eyes and at the end I thought he smiled. I was the first person he ever saw as his mom died in childbirth and I was the last person he saw. It was truly an honor to see my boy go. In a lot of ways that dog saved our family. So thank you everyone I couldn't have wished a better way for him to leave us. Your staff will always have a special place in my heart.

Super friendly staff! They always put non-skid mats for my older dog with mobility issues & make sure my anxious dog has a fear free experience. I’ve had issues at other offices using muzzles, making my dogs feel more defensive & fearful. It can be terrible seeing your dog in fear as they’re “taken in the back”. We’ve never had that experience here, the staff are so comforting & being able to stay in the room with me really puts my pups at ease.
