My daughter is 11 and asked to get her hair colored. Let me tell you: The staff is very courteous, the salon is welcoming, and most important, they made my daughter feel special and happy! We scheduled a consultation. The stylist asked questions and listened to my daughter’s ideas and vision.We were scheduled for a few days after Christmas. My daughter was hoping for before the holidays. Well…we received a call that there was a cancellation and, not only did they get my daughter in place of the cancellation, the woman at the front desk made a point of bringing up how she remembered my daughter was excited to get this done for the holidays.Whether you live 10 minutes or 10 miles away, do make a point to check out their website. If you are in need, do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment. You will not be disappointed!

I would not recommend this salon. Several times two of the stylists would sneak in what they call a (gloss) which they applied at the shampoo bowl and not even ask me if I wanted this product. I had been seeing Carly for about a year. Then at the beginning of 2023 she started to put this gloss in my hair without telling me and I'd be surprised with an extra $30 charge at the register. Another time I earned loyalty points of $10 but Carly put an $8 product in my hair without telling me. I then after about a year or longer with Carly, I switched stylists. My first appointment with the different stylist, Gabby, went ok but she asked me if I wanted the gloss and I said I did not want it and I didn't want to pay an extra $30 for it. The last and final straw was when I made my second appointment with the new stylist. I asked the front desk what the cost of a partial foil was with Gabby and she told me $89. I said fine but that I didn't want the gloss. When my appointment was finished and I went to pay, I was not only charged for a gloss but charged $110 for a partial foil instead of $89! Several weeks later I was angry thinking about it and that I shouldn't just let them get away with treating their customers that way, so I spoke with one of the owners and she was very nice and understanding. She refunded me the $21 difference between the charge for a partial foil, the $30 for the gloss and the $25 tip that I gave Gabby. So I have to give much credit to the owner for fully resolving the issue.

Both myself and my daughter are clients at Salon Mackk.I see Caitlin for my beauty/hair needs. Caitlin is warm, friendly and truly passionate about her clients. She listens to what I want and the end result is spectacular every time!My daughter goes to Annie. My daughter is 5 with hemiplegic cerebral palsy and Annie goes above and beyond to accommodate her and provides inclusion for her to experience all the luxuries a salon experience offers. Fabulous Salon! Curly gals this is a salon for you! Melinda is my sytlist and she knows what she is doing with curls! She cut my each curl when it was still dry, you need to come in with your hair styled as normal, then washed, put in product, sat under a dryer and she checked my curls again to make sure they fell the way we wanted them to. I will keep coming to this salon!

I adore this place and love my stylist, the owner. She's great with color and turned my vision of a textured pixie into reality. Love that there is no pressure to buy products, but they are there if you want them.

My ex boyfriends mom and sister see Gina here I just come in for the shampoo I was gifted for Christmas 3 or 4 years ago and haven't been able to find anything else comparable to how this protein makes my hair feel. I get the color care in the pink label or bottle. It's expensive but it lasts me a year and you only need a small amount. It makes my hair manageable and I just love the surface shampoo. I've checked online as I live in Fox Lake and the drive to Crystal Lake basically 50 minutes BUT so worth it. So So worth it
